Upcoming appts: on Wednesday I have my first OB appt and ultrasound
How are you feeling?: so nauseated. I’ve lost 5 lbs since this started from keeping so little down and having such a small appetite. Sooooo different from my first.
Rants/Raves: just sick of feeling sick
Questions:
GTKY: What do you do for a living? I’m a veterinarian
EDD/W+D: 2-13 / 7w4d (my midwife is saying 2-12 according to the US, and my OPKs & temping lead me to believe 2-14, but 2-13 is possible, so I’m meeting in the middle!)
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out (in less than 2 weeks!)
Baby is the size of a(n): playing die
Upcoming appts: nothing til the end of the month
How are you feeling?: Full-body exhaustion, occasional nausea
Rants/Raves: thankful to have 2 more days off this week
Questions: none
GTKY: I’m a Certified Surg Tech, currently working in labor & delivery. I either tech or first-assist in csections, assist physicians in vaginal births, and generally just help take care of all the moms and babies! Previously I’ve done everything from carpal tunnel surgeries, to total knees, to robotic hysterectomies, to coronary artery bypasses.
@kiwi2628 good luck at your first US! Sorry you’ve been so sick. That’s how my pregnancy with DS was, I lost more than 5 lbs in the 1st tri. Hopefully it passes soon.
@kiwi2628 So sorry about feeling so sick! Good luck at your appointment!
@daffodil_shoe That's so awesome that you're doing that blood test. I really wish I bought it when you brought up the special! Are you doing a gender reveal?
@imalwaysme79 So exciting your appointment is next week!
@brookert615 we are (DH wants to), but not til after the 20-week anatomy scan. I just feel like technically I could screw up the blood test, because you have to be super careful not to get male DNA on anything and contaminate the blood. So I will feel more confident after I actually see a turtle or 3 lines on an US!
@daffodil_shoe Totally agree with that! They have some places that offer the SneakPeek blood test in a controlled environment but it's like 129 bucks and I'm like meh... I can wait lol.
How are you feeling?: tired and nauseous but it’s not as bad...
Rants/Raves: We has a big party for my grammy’s 90th birthday this weekend. We told a lot of family, which was fun (but also feel like it’s still early so I don’t know)
Questions: My nausea isn’t as bad as it was with DS. I’ve had some bad days, but it’s not horrible. Should I be concerned? I feel a little stupid for asking but it’s bothering me!
GTKY: What do you do for a living? I’m a 1st grade teacher
@aleciaraez I wouldn’t worry quite yet. Morning sickness is associated with lower risk of miscarriage, but it’s not a guarantee either way! I had horrible MS with DS. It hasn’t been nearly as bad this time, but so far kiddo has a heartbeat. One of my sisters never had any MS with her 3 healthy pregnancies.
Upcoming appts: July 23! We are in the same month as my appt, FINALLY!
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, I am not feeling much morning sickness, I do have sore boobs.
Rants/Raves: I have to sleep with a shirt on or sports bra, my nipples have been super sensitive! I am also trying to train myself to sleep on my side (I'm a stomach sleeper) and am not getting enough sleep. I think it'll help in the long run.
Questions: Not this week
GTKY: What do you do for a living? I teach 1st Grade in the Denver Area. I just finished my 8th year of teaching. I love my school and staff.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team Finding Out
Baby is the size of a(n): Bonbon
Upcoming appts: intake next week and dating ultrasound on July 23rd.
How are you feeling?: Honestly, weepy and worried. This morning I had an ultrasound, we saw the heartbeat, but I only measured 6w6d. I know it’s not an exact science. My midwife didn’t have a good view and only measured once, but still. My old midwife retired unfortunately (it’s a practice, so I’ve met most of the midwives during my last pregnancy), but she told me lagging behind is a sign of miscarriage, so I’ve been on edge all day (suppressing the feeling and not realising until earlier this evening). Also, fatigue has hit me hard today, which doesn’t make it any better. I’ve got an intake (without ultrasound) next week, but I might just ask if they can fit one in.
Rants/Raves: see above
Questions: -
GTKY: What do you do for a living? I’m a policy advisor at an association.
@daffodil_shoe: how cool that you can do your own procedure! Will you share the result with us before 20 weeks?
@FakeFinn FX that it was just a weird angle for measuring. At least you have a heartbeat to cling to!
I will definitely be sharing here, since I don’t “know” any of you 😉 And it will be interesting to compare with the US if it’s correct. I’m looking at it more as an experiment. It will actually be easy to do myself, it’s just a quick finger poke (like those with diabetes do). I just have to be careful to use sterile technique so as not to contaminate.
How are you feeling?: tired, gassy, sore boobs, occasional nausea. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I felt pregnant enough not to be worried, but not so pregnant that it ruined the day.
Rants/Raves: Rave - I finished my paper and am currently on my "summer break" from grad school!! Woohoo! I told hubby, "I have all this free time now; I can do anything I want. All I want to do is sleep, lol."
Questions:
GTKY: What do you do for a living? Sailor (in the Navy).
@noxacanthus congrats on finishing your paper! That’s cool to find out you’re in the Navy. DH was in for six years, so I had the opportunity to live in Norfolk for a while. Loved it there!
@alseltzer Congrats on graduating!! That's a fun milestone.
@noxacanthus Sleep extra for me! Seriously though enjoy your break!
@burr1371 We live in Denver and I'm going to have to ask you some questions about how TF getting into school works around here- it's so confusing! Also a stomach sleeper and I stay face down until second tri, when I couldn't anymore I started propping a leg on a pillow to make room for the belly, and third tri there just is no sleeping- it's terrible! This time I'm not even trying to move from belly sleeping until I'm forced.
EDD/W+D: 2/11 7+6
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry
Upcoming appts: 7/17 U/S and bloodwork genetic screening
How are you feeling?: BLOATED, nauseated but not throwing up at all anymore, exhausted, boobs are still sore and seem to be endlessly growing, back, hip, and knee all hurt (achey joints in general)
Rants/Raves: I look pregnant AF. I don't understand how this is possible.
Questions: In the coming weeks, will I stay about the same as my belly goes from bloat to actually showing? Or is it just going to keep getting bigger from here?? (Last time it got progressively bigger week after week, but not until second trimester)
GTKY: What do you do for a living? Website designer
@craftywitch it’s so hard to say, everyone carries differently and each pregnancy can be so different. With DS I started out slender and slowly developed a low, cute bump. This time I’m bloated AF so I’m interested to see how my bump develops.
@craftywitch I would be happy to answer any questions about enrolling I think its a fairly easy process. If I can't answer anything, I can always ask my registrar/secretary, they know everything!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Going to find out in two weeks! Can't wait.
Baby is the size of a(n): A small olive.
Upcoming appts: NIPT/Bi-Test in two weeks
How are you feeling?: Great! I had my FOURTH US yesterday and the little SCH they saw in my last US was gone! Baby looked like a little gummy bear and I am just over the moon.
Rants/Raves: I've been spoiled with weekly ultrasounds since 5w6d, but this time I have to wait two more weeks for my next so I hope i'll make it through that time without worrying too much. I FINALLY met my OB and he says that at this point there is a 95% of the pregnancy being successful and if he had a million bucks he'd bet it on that!
Questions: Anyone else here with a tilted uterus who is deathly afraid of developing incarcerated uterus? I know it's rare, but well, i'm me!
GTKY: What do you do for a living? I take care of Finance, Technology and Marketing for a Tour Operator in Rome, Italy!
Me, 35, SO 35. Personal assistant to one 10 year-old fur baby (cat, pictured). Human baby #1 EDD Feb 11, 2020 BFP July 12, 2018 - CP BFP December 7, 2018 - CP
@Swiftlet I decided to wait until Friday until I’m exactly 8 weeks! I found a place that was a little less expensive and I can go during my lunch break at work! I’ll post an update, FX it’s in the ultrasound thread! ❤️
@kaeineurope hooray for SCH disappearing!! I was diagnosed with one at 6 weeks (had bled twice) and anxious about my aptmt Monday. Hoping for continued heartbeat and no more SCH!
Edd- February 10 (though I keep calling her my valentines rainbow baby!
Upcoming aptmt-Monday, “first” aptmt (even though I’ve been in twice because of a SCH)
How are you feeling? anxiety starting to lesson after previous miscarriage as I get farther along. Very tired and sorry and achy! My upper back and shoulders feel like I’ve worked out hard core by end of day! Boobs still sore, slight nausea .
Rants/raves: just that a pregnancy after miscarriage can’t be as wonderful and exiting as previous pregnancies i want to give this baby the same bonding I got with my two boys,
Questions: anyone else having soreness in back/shoulders/neck??
GTNY: I am a teacher. Which has been amazing because I’ve been able to take it super easy this first tri with my SCH and bleeding. Have just played with my boys and not stressed about work! Summer is the best
How are you feeling?: Tired and a little nauseous. They said my progesterone was doing well so they lowered my dose, maybe I’ll get some energy back?
Rants/Raves: I’m starting to feel more positive after hearing her heartbeat but I still find myself not wanting to get too excited. I didn’t make it this far in my last pregnancy so I’m trying to stay optimistic.
Questions: none
GTKY: What do you do for a living? Software Quality Analyst
@daffodil_shoe Yes, we did PGS testing for this round of IVF. (all three of our embryos were girls) We didn't really care about the sex, we just wanted as much info on the health of the embryos as possible to increase our chances of a successful pregnancy. It is kind of fun to know already though!
