Had to start up the new one so I could vent here. I’ll be on a work trip with around 8 of my coworkers for the next three days and I am NOT looking forward to it. The fatigue and constantly feeling sick to my stomach... when I haven’t told anyone yet, and I’m there with my boss among others... argh.
I think I’m dying. You know when you get on a plane and like 3 days later you have clogged sinuses and a cruddy cough? I have that. And the cough makes me gag which makes me throw up since I’m already low grade nauseated. So I have spent the past 2 days alternating between blowing my nose and coughing and gagging and throwing up. And of course I can’t take meds because pregnant. Send help.
We leave tomorrow for universal studios in Orlando. My bonus daughter recently discovered she loves HP. (Swoon. I loveeeee HP.) I’ve been ecstatic to take her and ride the rides with her. Found out a week ago today that I’m pregnant, after trying for 18 months! Today, I’m 5w1d...and a nervous, emotional mess. I’m super nervous about a miscarriage, and we don’t have our first US until 06/22. So now, I’m not excited about this trip because my head is elsewhere with nerves, I’m tired, and I can’t ride any of the HP rides now anyway. Husband will step in, but she’s going to be so disappointed because we share our HP love and husband doesn’t. We’re going to tell her I have a stomach bug...for 5 days...and that I just don’t feel good. She wants a sibling so bad, but it’s too early to tell her. /end anxiety-ridden rant
@stronginhim Sorry your HP hopes have been dashed. I bet once it’s time to tell her, and you explain “that’s why I couldn’t do the Harry Potter rides!” She’ll get it. How old is she? My SS is 7 and this is my first, so it would be my first baby and his first sibling... nice to see another blended family in here
@stronginhim omg I want to go back to HP World so bad! We went 5 years ago, and it was amazing. But they've added so many more things. Try to relax and enjoy some butterbeer!
@um_thor I feel ya! I am also traveling for work the next two days. We're having dinner tonight at 7pm, which is usually when I feel the most barfy and tired. Also not looking forward to the airplane, since that usually makes me feel nauseous even when I am not pregnant.
@kiwi2628 I am sorry that you're not well. Having to deal with that on top of first tri awfulness is the worst. Hope you feel better soon.
@stronginhim That is a bummer! I'm sorry that your trip won't go as planned
As for me, why do I always over-extend our family by signing up my kids for activities? I put two of my kids in summer baseball, thinking that games would be on Saturday mornings. Wrong! Practices are at 8am (what!) on Saturday mornings and the games are spread out on weeknights. Ugh...
Im on my staycation- so took the toddler to school this morning and now headed to eat lunch and hang out on the beach with my mom! And I’m feeling good today. Wooo!

I am officially child free until Friday. My in-laws are taking my 6 year old for the week and taking her to the ocean. While I am going to miss the heck out of her face, I am looking forward to going home and doing absolutely nothing. And not having to think of dinner is thrilling for me right now. LOL
@stronginhim apparently there is an extended family Disney trip in November... I will be the size of a house by then and unable to do anything other than eat the food around the world at Epcot. I feel your pain. My husband and I have been toying with going to Disney for a few years now, but I think we're just gonna have to wait. *sigh*
@therealbitts I have a trip in the near future and was talking about airsickness and needing to pee every 5 minutes and my husband now is dreading this flight with me and I was thinking it's all good because they have bathrooms on planes and then he said, "what if there is a line for the bathroom." The thought had never crossed my mind!
Today DH was going into work later than usual, so I left for work while DS was still sleeping. The change in routine made him cry all morning and then he wouldn’t let go at drop off. Good to know I’m appreciated, but I feel bad for my poor little guy. I told him last night that Daddy would do drop off, but it wasn’t enough.
@pirateduck I’m going to Disney with our family in November. It will be DS and my first time and I’m pumped! I swelled pretty badly with him, but hopefully I won’t as much this time...
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@craftywitch I have no clue! lol I am all caught up on most shows, so I am not sure. Might start watching Dead to Me on Netflix since I have heard it is pretty good.
Team pink = you are having a girl Team blue = you are having a boy Team green = you are waiting until the birth to find out if it’s a boy or girl
You aren’t on a team of what you want to have. You are on a team of what you are actually having. Unless you picked out a girl embryo or boy embryo for IVF, no one knows if they are team pink or team blue yet. You are either “finding out” or “team green.”
@bg122785 Dead to Me is definitely binge worthy, I watched it all in only a few days. Also if you haven’t seen Imposters I recommend that too. It’s only 2 seasons but sooo good
Another Dead to Me fan here! I am only on the third episode and I am hooked! I’m also rewatching the first season Big Little Lies before we start season two. So good!
So I told my boss (who is also the company President) that I’m expecting. We share an office, so I just wanted her to understand if I make sudden dashes to the bathroom and/or if I have to come in a bit later due to appointments.
Her reaction was: “really??? Again?? Why couldn’t you wait a few more years?” I was both shocked and hurt. My DD is turning 2 on Saturday so it’s not like I recently came back from mat leave. I also worked until the day before I gave birth and came back exactly 12 weeks later. I even did a bit of work remotely during those weeks off. Also, I’m 35 years old which is already advanced maternal age. Ugh!!!
@clearlyclara@daffodil_shoe@brookert615 thank you so much, ladies. Unfortunately, we don’t have HR. But on the bright side, I already feel better just having let this out. Thanks!!
An hour til my ultrasound. I’m so nervous, I could puke. And it doesn’t help my stomach that I’m currently chugging 32 oz in 30 minutes for the bladder prep.
Will anyone else have kids and be pregnant while going to school? I am taking 2 summer classes this term and I'm worried my 3 yr old son won't be getting enough attention. How does anyone else deal with it and do the children do well with a mom who studies a lot (10 hours a week)?
@sunshinegarden I went back to school again when my son was 9 months old, and finished a few months after his 2nd birthday. It was so hard! A lot of studying happened after he went to bed. There’s no way I could’ve handled a pregnancy on top of it all.

People really say insensitive things sometimes and it can be really upsetting. Sometimes I don't think they even realize how rude they are being.
This also makes me think we should start a thread for all the random and crazy and inappropriate and hurtful things that people say to us between now and February. I have a feeling we will come up with quite the list.
@lanie1000 that’s so out of line. And, honestly selfish on her part.
My supervisor (not my boss) made a shitty comment to me once about my maternity leave being a long vacation, so I am mentally preparing to have a great response when I tell them I am pregnant again.
Ughh Oh I just love coworker comments. I had a guy I worked with start making a beeping sound like a truck backing up when I walked into our kitchen during my first pregnancy. And then I will never forget my neighbor came in to pay his water bill (I work at the water company for where I live) and ask me how many cm dilated I was. Excuse me...WHAT?! lol
We have a grey microfleece blanket on the bed that my cat loves. She sleeps on it all the time and she used to knead it when she was a kitten. I thought she had grown out of it, but last night I woke up to her kneading the portion of the blanket directly on top of my uterus. Ow! She's been very clingy lately.
Had to wait half an hour past my scheduled appointment (that was rough on my bladder)! But it was worth it, there was a heartbeat! We didn’t get photos though, just a CD.

Edit-spelling
I def love HP! I’ve been a few times; this is bonus daughters first time. She just recently realized it’s AWESOME.
I def plan on getting some butter beer! And, DH will prob end up on kiddo duty while I nap at the pool. I feel that’s fair for missing my fav rides!

I have been MIA today. We had team building all day at work and then I had a meeting after work. I’m EXHAUSTED.
