Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out fo sho
Baby is the size of a(n): peppercorn
Upcoming appts: Confirming pregnancy tomorrow and hoping they’ll schedule my first ultrasound ASAP.
How are you feeling?: good today!!
Rants/Raves: just feeling so impatient to see this jellybean and tell friends.
Questions: not right now
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? His work ethic. He works so hard for us! It drives me nuts sometimes but I’m thankful that he wants to provide for us. I work too, but I don’t have the same drive he does.
Me:33 DH: 34 Married: May 2011 TTC #1: May 2015 DS: 10/20/2016 TTC #2: June 2019 #2 EDD: 2/20/2020
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: I assume we’ll find out again this time. I should ask H what he thinks
Baby is the size of a(n): peppercorn
Upcoming appts: 1st ultrasound on Wednesday with RE. Really hoping there is a heartbeat. We saw one at 5+6 with DD.
How are you feeling?: good although exhaustion hit hard yesterday and I napped and went to bed early but then couldn’t fall asleep even though I had been exhausted. Also TMI, some constipation. And moments of passing nausea.
Rants/Raves: Rants: anxious about ultrasound to check for viability Raves: glad I feel good so far but it’s early
Questions:
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? We just “get” each other and have a similar sense of humor.
Hi all- as of right now I should be due on the 21st. My stomach is not right today. I went to the gym at 6 am (I was up at 4...) and could only do 10 minutes on the Peloton. Not a good start to the week!
How are you feeling?: Major fatigue, lots of random crying, some queasiness, and possible TW, I started spotting today. I never experienced it with my first two pregnancies. Reading up on it, it seems like it could be normal, but it has me stressed out.
Rants/Raves: I just want to get to that first check up and see if everything's okay.
Questions: n/a
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? He laughs at my really terrible puns. If I had a tagline it would either be "pun always intended" or "the mom who makes dad jokes." Laughing makes life bearable. It got us through some tough times when he was in the hospital. The nurses and doctors thought I was crazy when I'm cracking jokes and he was nearly dying, but he laughed.
@SheHulk723 It makes me feel better about my spotting knowing that you are spotting! It's so freakin nerve wracking! I really hope it is nothing to worry about for any of the women experiencing it. I started crying watching a TV show the other night and my husband totally made fun of me. I cannot control it! I think we are all anxiously awaiting that first scan when we can see a heartbeat more than anything.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: definitely finding out!
Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea for week 6.
Upcoming appts: 6/26 with a nurse for labs and an informational session. 1st ultrasound not until 7/30!
How are you feeling?: I fluctuate between queasiness and nausea ALL DAY. I'm snacking constantly to keep the nausea at bay, which doesn't always work. Sore breasts. Food aversions. Cramping.
Rants/Raves: The little things that turn my stomach are insane! I had salad and chicken in the fridge at work (both of which make me want to vomit at the mere thought of it) and just had to toss it ASAP, Tupperware and all. I could NOT bring the Tupperware home and let my DH deal with it. It had to go!
Questions: Anyone else have daily cramping? It's a bit like a period cramp and lasts for 5 to 10 minutes. Happens maybe 3 times a day. I've heard cramping is pretty normal.
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? He is so easygoing and doesn't get overly stressed about anything. He balances out this worrywart.
EDD/W+D: 2/16 (just changed from 2/12 after ultrasound today ) 6+1
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out - scheduled my blood draw for the Pamorama test today! Baby is the size of a(n): corn seed Upcoming appts: in 4 weeks - had one today! How are you feeling?: the nausea is real. Rants/Raves: rant - the midwife told me I shouldn’t push myself to do our relay race in august so I have to drop out of my team. Rave- had a great midwife visit today saw and heard the heartbeat so feeling positive! Questions: na GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? His sense of humor. He can always cheer me up and is such a goofball.
Me: 38, DH: 36 Married Jan 2008 DD Baby Bells born Dec 2016 5 lbs, 12 oz, 18" so in love Due with #2 Baby Arya EDD February 2020
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: hubs does NOT want to find out but I definitely do so not sure how that one will work out haha.
Baby is the size of a(n): Appleseed
Upcoming appts: July 3rd is my first ultrasound!
How are you feeling?: boobs are still sore; afternoon fatigue; occasional light-headedneas; constipated on and off; just recently starting to feel that queasiness lurking
Rants/Raves: one more week until the ultrasound! I’m nervous but excited - I think seeing a heartbeat will really help me to feel like this is for real and have at least a little more confidence in a viable pregnancy.
Questions: not yet!
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? If I had to choose, I’d say that he takes good care of our little family. Not just working hard every day (he’s a super hard worker) but he keeps up with the car maintenance, fixes stuff around the house, he buys me things that I won’t buy for myself, etc. He’s just a good guy.
@malloryfrommn I had some intermittent cramping earlier on but never any spotting/bleeding. It has pretty much subsided for me but from all I read, it can be normal. I think worth asking your doctor if it gets worse or more frequent/longer duration.
@Swiftlet I want to be surprised, but my husband wants to find out. We have not discussed this any time recently, but I suppose we will need to soon. If he really wants to know I will probably cave. It's a surprise either way, just in one case you are surprised with the news a few months earlier than the other! I also know what you mean about really needing to see that heartbeat the first time for peace of mind. Is this your first?
@pirateduck I was thinking I could just have him step out of the room and have my US person tell me haha! It would just be hard knowing and having to keep it a secret for months...and I’d worry I’d slip up and say he or she. We’ll figure it out eventually!
And yes, my first. ((TW)) We had a chemical in February and went through IF treatments so while we've made it past the original benchmark, it’s still nerve-wracking. Not that it doesn’t feel real but it’s a weird headspace to be in for me, having a bunch of pee strips and blood numbers and symptoms confirm I’m pregnant but not having seen anything going on in my uterus! Are you a first timer too?
Yes @Swiftlet this is my first (conceived through IUI). It's been a long road. So I've had lots of appointments and disappointments along the way. So I have my positive FRER and two betas and various other blood work, but have yet to SEE anything. I'm currently taking progesterone, so there's a part of my brain that says all my symptoms are just from the progesterone supplements and that there's nothing growing in there, which logically I know is absurd, but it's really difficult to be excited just yet. My husband and I are both a bit skeptical that this is really it. Praying Monday's scan is all good news.
@pirateduck and @Swiftlet I’m also an IF warrior. We had a chemical in June 2016 from our 4th IUI. We did IVF in July 2016 with a fresh transfer that didn’t work. In September 2016 we did a frozen transfer that resulted in my DD born June 2017. This current pregnancy was one of our remaining frozen embryos from that same cycle. All of that to say I hear you and feel you. Being back at it a second time does give me a bit of a different perspective but a lot of the anxiety is the same. I’m always here to listen if you want to talk. IF is a mind f*%&
We had an ultrasound today at 5w6d and saw a flicker of a heartbeat. The RE was happy with that and we go back on 7/12 for another ultrasound before being released to OB.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: probably finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): no idea!
Upcoming appts: 7/8, needed to wait until after the holiday.
How are you feeling?: like crap, but pushing through. Kind of proud of myself. The food aversions are real. I have an aversion to pretty much everything, yet I have already gained five pounds. Oh well!
Rants/Raves: cerclage can be placed by my previously used MFM.
Questions: No questions yet. Just in a holding until my first sono.
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? He knows how to hustle. He’s gone through job losses and changes without any impact on our family. He prepares and knows how to get the job done.
I am so so sorry for all you guys spotting. I know it’s scary and I hope all is well.
@Swiftlet & @jvk2012 I keep thinking we should start a PG after IF thread, I don't think there is one yet. I feel like even now my experience and my emotions are not the same. It's not that I cannot relate to others, but when it took me over 30 cycles and failed treatments to get a BFP it's sometimes hard to bond with women who are accidentally PG. I'm not by any means trying to invalidate the pregnancies of those women who have had it easy, but trying to reach out and support those who are dealing with difficult times. I hope I'm making sense. I think perhaps those of us overcoming IF are a bit more cynical perhaps.
@pirateduck I would be all for a PGAIF thread! It’s a strange feeling to transition from meds and injections and daily follicle checks and waiting and BFNs cycle after cycle to all of a sudden a BFP. I understand what you mean about others who haven’t had to go through that. Not that I’m not happy for them or anything, it’s just a different perspective.
@pirateduck I'd be all for a PAIF thread. I led one in my BMB for my daughter but don't have time to remember to organize one now but I'd happily participate. IF brain definitely makes pregnancy feel different than many other people experience. I also can look back at how my IF brain impacted my entire pregnancy with my daughter and share my perspective with others.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: I am way too much of a planner to not find out!
Baby is the size of a(n): Jelly Belly Jelly Bean
Upcoming appts: First US on July 9th!!! Can't wait.
How are you feeling?: Sore boobs, tired and light cramps every day
Rants/Raves: My temper with my SO is shorter because I want him to get it together before the baby comes lol.
Questions: How do you survive the anxiety of waiting for the first US? I have been lightly cramping since day one and I had light pink discharge yesterday which freaked me out.
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? He has been extra nice to me since I got pregnant and has taken over the cooking since I have been so tired
@beepsmom I wish I knew how to handle the anxiety before the first US- if you figure it out let me know! Mostly I’ve been trying to keep busy. I’ve also been avoiding the PGAL thread- ((TW loss)) I thought it would be helpful as I had a chemical in February but it’s just made me more worried seeing people with later losses.
So I’m reading a lot, watching The Office with hubs and staying active. I have found some comforting journal articles too- I’m a scientist at heart and cold hard data makes me feel better haha!
*lurking from Group 2* I would also be interested in a PGAIF thread. We did 5 IUIs and then one IVF to get pregnant. I feel like IF is an extra layer of nerves because it took so much to get here, you know? And personally, this is my only shot. If this pregnancy doesn't work out, I don't have the money to do another IVF, which makes me jittery at every little symptom (or lack thereof).
@Swiftlet I actually called my husband from work to cry after reading the PGAL thread, because of all the people who had losses around 8-9 weeks. I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow. Most first trimester losses are due to chromosomal abnormalities which come from poor egg or sperm quality. Since my problem is poor egg quality, IF brain makes me feel like that means I'm already doomed.
Sorry I'm so late in joining these convos! I just got past the wait period to post lol
EDD/W+D: EDD Feb 20th, 6w2d
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out for sure!!!
Baby is the size of a(n): corn kernal
Upcoming appts: First appointment on July 12th! Sad hubby can't make it.
How are you feeling?: overall pretty well. Tired, tender breasts come and go, light aching, slight nausea sometimes.
Rants/Raves: I just want to eat all the salty things!!
Questions: I had one earlier but now I cant remember.
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO? He's just the cutest. He'll come in carrying the cat and say "I'm practicing holding the baby!" Or he'll kiss my stomach and ask how I'm feeling. Besides all that he's a hard working man with a good head on his shoulders who loves me for all that I am.
How are you feeling?: 80% boobs. Nausea has abated thanks to Dilectin, but not hungry at all. Body feels great! Bladder infection is Improving.
Rants/Raves: I wasn't expecting to lose weight when pregnant but have lost ~7-8 and feel Amazeballs! All that dry heaving must burn calories... Just kinda I'm eating healthier and bike to and from work I'm also one of those bigger mums, a muscular pre-pregnancy weight of around 245-250.
Questions:
GTKY: What do you love most about your SO?
Probably how considerate he is. He makes me saddest when he does this out of character, like saying something seemingly innocuous but I'm hurt by it. He'll catch on and come see me though and well cuddle up. Also, he's been very low pressure about this. I have PCOS and were casually optimistic but have normal first time parents anxiety. I love that we celebrate each new week as a "high score," because it reminds me of where I've come (and can go!) Vice where I am: stuck, sedentary or stagnant.

Rants/Raves: wish my RE's office wasn't 2 hours away, wish the wetness down there would end
Questions: The wetness does end eventually right? It doesn't continue the whole 9 months does it? This is my first time, I don't know.
