To go along with our baby gear thread, let’s post any great deals on maternity clothes, pillows, or general gear that makes life as a pregnant mama easier!
With me expecting twins I don’t see myself in one size for very long so I’m not too keen on spending a ton on clothes. So far I’ve found fairly good prices at target and also some good deals at clothes mentor for second hand pants.
Buckle-free, adjustable belts. I didn't discover these until after my first pregnancy, but they are amazing for everyday wear, and I plan to use it as long as possible during this pregnancy.
Does anybody have any good suggestions for pullover soft bras? I've been using some junky old sports bras, and my regular bras, but I don't think they're going to work for very long. I need some that are sports bra style, and then some that might transition to nursing bras (I had horrible nursing bras the last time from Target- not doing that again). Side note- I'm usually a pretty small fit at a 34B if that helps.
@anniemarie887@cpk3535 I have the pumping version of those bras and they are great! I had some issues with the clips breaking on a few of them, but they are very comfortable and work great.
Me: 31 DH: 31 DS born 6/2017, became a heart angel 8/2018 CP 3/2019
Having trouble finding a bra for big chests ( I need both sleep and day-wear. I’m a 36G to begin with so I really need some boulder holders to keep me together for the next 6 months!! 😜
Any suggestions??
Old Navy is great for pre-maternity as well. This year they have a ton of swing dresses and drawstring pants/ shorts in the women's section that absolutely work during 2nd trimester for parents who aren't showing as much.
I just ordered a pack of these maternity panties the other day, and they're a game changer. My pre-pregnancy panties were starting to get uncomfortable and would roll and bunch as I'd bend over because of the growing belly. Super happy with these guys, and they're so comfy. And they come in an 8-pack and you can choose from different colors/patterns, which is nice: https://www.amazon.com/Suekaphin-Maternity-Pregnancy-Postpartum-Underwear/dp/B07R7GQBFT
@k_mama91 Second Target. Got some cute, very reasonably priced items there.
We also have a Destination Maternity store in town, which can be pricey if you go full-priced, but I've been keeping an eye out for sales. I don't know if anyone else lives close to one, but if you do, get on their email list. They'll notify you about any clearance/sales going on. I went in for Memorial Day when they were doing $15 jeans, buy one get one for $15 dresses, and $10 shorts. I imagine with Independence Day coming up, they'll do a similar type sale. They also did a buy 3, get 1 free on maternity bras, and 50% off swimsuits.
@rjgmcmanus they were having a sale Thursday when I went! Another super cheap, limited selection place is Walmart. I’ve grabbed some leggings and tanks in there and they’re so soft.
Does anyone have any suggestions on cute, PETITE maxi maternity dresses? Being 5 feet tall, I'm doing okay with the knee length/below the knee dresses, but have yet to find a maxi that won't require me to chop off a foot of material. I'm usually able to find regular maxis in petites, but maternity maxis are a whole different story.
Pretty much every dress from Pink Blush is a win. Also my hands-down favorite bump-hugging bodycon dresses from Ingrid & Isabel are the best. Target has their own version by the same designer, not as comfortable but way less expensive so totally worth it!!
Pink Blush - 25% off today (sunday) but they seem to have sales all the time so if you miss today don't worry! https://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/
@blueskychicago12 thanks for the heads up on the old navy sale. I got a skirt, pair of shorts, pants, and a swimsuit! And $30 of that old navy cash guaranteeing I'll be back in a month lol.
Has anyone found affordable but comfortable maternity bras? I’m just about ready to be done with underwire! I’ve seen some good prices on amazon but I wanted to see if anyone has suggestions.
I just had great luck at H&M!! I didn't buy anything from their actual maternity section, but I've always liked wearing hippie-esque/flowy stuff, and they have tons of that on clearance right now. I got several pieces that will work for most of my pregnancy (I think--fingers crossed!).
Thank you for all the other tips--I feel so lost with maternity stuff!
I took my daughter to the pool for the first time this year yesterday and my bathing suit bottoms left a lot to be desired 😫. I don’t know if I have time to buy something before we go to the beach Saturday so I might just have to look like a sausage.
@KTZ17 I spent 3 DAYS looking for a suit that I was comfortable in! I finally had luck at kohl’s. Not the best selection but both butt cheeks are covered 🤷🏼♀️
If anyone is interested in workout gear, this has been a wonderful purchase, as it is ruched on the sides, and also has silicon hem-grippers on the bottom hemline to keep it from riding up as you work out. I love it and it's so comfy
Any advice on pregnancy pillows? I just spent hours reading so many different reviews.... FTM here and I'm overwhelmed! I'm typically a side sleeper (though I flip back and forth a lot), and recently my back pain while sleeping has come back with a vengeance. Pain is in the middle of my back. I've struggled with this pre-pregnancy, as I have an hourglass figure, and the heavier I am, the worse my pain seems to get, especially because I sleep on my side. We have a queen size bed, but remember, my husband is basically an elf, so I'm not *too* worried about it taking up too much room...
Currently debating between these three, in this order:
@ninrms I’ve actually been using the Snoogle for over a year now due to difficulty sleeping/shoulder pain. I loooove it. Easy to clean and super comfy. I bought mine at bed bath and beyond with a 20% coupon and it had a grey jersey cover with it.
@ninrms Go to Destination Maternity's website, they're having a sale on the Snoogle right now! $45 when it's usually $60. I just ordered mine today, should get it next week. Excited to try it out.
FYI Target has a 20% off sale on swimsuits so I just ordered two maternity suits! I didn’t want to spend a lot on them and apparently most of their maternity suits are only available online.
@ktmaesim I can’t remember where this popped up, but I bit the bullet on Madewell jeans. They are by far the best I’ve tried. I just wish they had shorts.
Late to the game, but just a forewarning that H&M Maternity pants run crazy small! I bought a paid back in May, while I love how they fit I had to buy a size 12 and I'm generally a size 4-6!! The 6s I could barely get up to my knees. I haven't ever bought pants from H&M in the past so I'm not sure if this is typical sizing for them. I've bought plenty of shirts and dresses from them and have never had issues with their sizing being off.
@ashorkey I bet H&M’s sizing is Euro sizing. Maybe not, but that’s typically why a small person would wear a 12 👍. I deal with sports clothing with both Euro and Japanese sizing- Americans wear huge clothes in both of their sizing models! 😄
For those who use pregnancy pillows, do they help keep you in the same position throughout the night? I don't have a hard time falling asleep on my left side, but every night I seem to roll onto my back and wake up uncomfortable. Does the pillow keep you on your side, or do you still toss and turn?
@blueskychicago12 About a week ago I started sleeping with the Leachco Back n Belly--I picked that one because I've always been a side sleeper, and I have such bad back pain when I sleep. Unless I'm dead tired, I've always needed to readjust throughout the night (prepregnancy), and I'm still readjusting with the pillow. I like this one because it keeps me mostly on my side, even if I'm angled a bit onto my back or belly. I know sleeping on our left side is supposed to be ideal, but I don't think it hurts to be comfortable, either. I've selfishly been choosing comfort and good sleep over exclusive left-side sleeping. I hope that helps!
