'Life has its ups and downs...we call them squats.'
It's June, ladies! We are getting close to the halfway point!

1. How would you say you've done so far with exercise and/or healthy eating?
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated?
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy?
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use?
Re: June Fitness/Healthy Habits
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated? I just want to keep moving. It's getting really hot in Nashville and outdoor exercise is getting pretty hard. I like swimming but I don't motivate myself to do it enough because it takes more effort to prepare than just heading out the door to run. I've been wanting to find a good prenatal yoga class too. Variety takes some work but does seem to keep me motivated.
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy? Omg harder. Already feeling so many changes in my body. And I've been so nervous to get overheated or push myself too hard.
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use? 😂 And it's very typical. I laugh a lot. 😂😂😂
1. How would you say you've done so far with exercise and/or healthy eating? Pretty well. I'm running 3 days a week and right now I'm tracking my food (midwives want me to) so I'm not sure I'm eating any better but at least I'm feeling guiltier when I have to write down "cheese danish."
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated? Trying to do planks every day. I like sit-ups better but I guess they're a no-no when pregnant. I have lower back issues if I don't find something for my core, so I guess that's my motivation?
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy? So far, not too bad. It will be harder once running isn't possible since that's the only exercise I really know how to do / am comfortable with. I'll probably start looking for classes at that point.
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use? 😊 I guess I use this one a lot! a
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated?
Work out everyday for 30 minutes whether it is just walking or my app. Plus better food choices.
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy?
As expected. I never expect to do much in the 1st trimester but I have been getting back into a routine which feels good.
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use?
Here is my conundrum - How many times do you buy healthy food and end up throwing it out before you stop buying it. I keep buying lettuce and I am essentially just throwing away money. Whoops!
Wellll... I'm on my feet for 8+ hours at work and constantly walking- when I remember to wear my watch, it's nothing unusual to be at 6 miles in one shift, plus my job is pretty physical. So I've managed to stay active there at least. And my cravings have lead to a lot more salads and veggies than I ate pre-pregnancy, and almost no sweets. But taco bell is still my go to, so.... 🤷♀️
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated?
Cut out the fast food. MH and I both work swing shift, so we get really bad about just grabbing something on the way home since cooking at 2am isnt really a fun thought. But if we get back to meal prepping like we were for a while, it won't be an issue.
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy?
I can't honestly say I've actively TRIED to have a fit pregnancy, but eating better has been much easier than I expected.
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use?
🤷♀️ and before that it was 🤣 Both of which are used a LOT.
1. How would you say you've done so far with exercise and/or healthy eating?
Overall, pretty good. I definitely have been exercising more than I did my first pregnancy so I'm happy there. I eat about as healthy as normal but I do eat a lot more ice cream/desserts.
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated?
To meal plan more - I was doing this a few months ago and then last month completely fell off and then I'm stuck trying to figure out what to make with random ingredients. I'll be planning out this week this morning before I hit up the grocery. I also want to eat more veggies.
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy?
In a way, harder, since when you have a workout goal you are going for (I'm a runner so training for a race) you can see your distance getting longer, your time getting faster, etc. but at this point I am just getting slower, taking more walk breaks, and more often reaching for the lighter weights when I do ST. But.. I'm still doing it, and I just try to remind myself that that's all I have to shoot for.
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use?
Haha, cute GTKY question! Yes it is super typical- 😂
1. How would you say you've done so far with exercise and/or healthy eating? Exercise needs some improvement, but I’m happy with my eating habits. I still can’t do much of cooked vegetables, but I’m living salads and raw cucumbers and tomatoes so I think I’m okay there.
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated? Move more! The weather is getting nicer, and we’ve been doing a lot of yard work so it’ll be easier to be outside anencephaly active for sure. I need to start incorporating some yoga and squats into my daily routine.
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy? Last pregnancy I did not exercise, but I was teaching Kindergarten and first grade so was very active throughout the first and second trimesters. Summer was during my third and I did not move enough. Knowing how I felt towards the end of my last pregnancy is motivating enough to make sure I’m more comfortable this time around!
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use? 😂🤦🏼♀️ And they almost always go together with something I text to my family about what my son just did.
I did amazing with food for a while but I have allowed more cheat foods here recently. It was my birthday and I kind of celebrated all week off and on. With exercise I have been doing REALLY good. I have committed to doing barre classes 2-3x a week and they are low impact but so brutal.
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated? Continue to stay on my workout routine and get back to normal eating habits!
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy? Easier!
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use? I dont use a lot of emojis lol usually just hearts or standard smileys
@Dancer688 I sometimes do this but I Also compost in my backyard so nothing ever really "goes to waste"
I'm really excited to go to my first prenatal yoga class tonight! Will report back on how it goes!
Food wise I have been choosing salads out more which is a plus food wise. I am trying to make myself get at least a small salad when I have meals out so that I am eating less of whatever unhealthy option I choose. Not sure if I am doing that or just eating both BUT at least I am eating a little bit more greens.
Eating healthy is hard with all these bbqs and summer birthday parties. The cakes have been looking amazing.
I think I’m doing pretty damn good! At least compared with my first 2 pregnancies. I do 20 min elliptical workouts 4x/week. Walked 3 miles on Saturday night with a friend around a local lake. Trying to eat well, too.
My June goal is to stay as active as I can with this nice weather. Drink more water.
Honestly, it’s been way easier than I ever expected to strive for a fit pregnancy. With my first pregnancy, I dropped my gym membership the second I found out I was expecting. I’m kicking myself for that now. I’ve struggled with my weight ever since. It feels really good to be taking care of myself and baby this time around.
I’m not a big emoji girl – it was probably a happy face.
Exercise is getting better...since it was nonexistent last month. I have done barre class and prenatal yoga and a fair amount of walking.
Eating is slowly getting better as I've been taking my nausea medication more regularly...definitely has been taking
2. What's your goal this month and how will you stay motivated?
My goal is to go to my workout at least 2x per week and walk around our town at least once.
3. Has it been harder or easier than you expected so far trying to have a fit/healthy pregnancy?
The fatigue has been insane and the constant nausea and vomiting. I was so prepared to continue eating healthy, but didn't realize my body would literally reject every vegetable and protein I tried to ingest
GTKY: What's the last emoji you used on your phone? Is it one you typically use?
Side-eye emoji!!! I use it all the time cause I like for the drama
As for me, I totally vegged out this weekend since I was visiting family. I got one short walk in but definitely no feeling good work outs. Tomorrow I am hoping to get back on track, although I know it is going to kick my butt.
Food wise I definitely should be doing better but the husband is traveling all week so when I am solo parenting I call myself in survival mode.
My progress check-in: I have felt so nervous to work out since my doctor said I had a low-lying placenta at my anatomy scan. She said it's still fine, and won't affect it, and to just stop if I had spotting but for some reason I'm still kinda nervous. So I've only been walking all week. I am going to try a jog tomorrow since the weather is supposed to improve after being very rainy all week. I am also going to do a prenatal ST workout over my lunch break. Food wise I'm about as I usually am, not awful but I definitely eat too much ice cream, haha.
I'm definitely down to run/walk intervals...I just can't do more right now as hot as it is in Nashville. @creamcheeseplease curious to hear about your support belt, I'm on the lookout for a good one!
Last week I just focused on hiking which was fantastic in Scotland! Hiking was perfect because I felt good and it was hard enough to be a workout without draining me. Here's a pic from The Quiraing, which was so beautiful!
