I feel like there are all these activities you are NOT supposed to do in pregnancy and the list seems to keep growing. I thought I'd start a thread where we can talk about hobbies and activities we can still enjoy doing. It might give others ideas of ways they can keep busy the next 9 months when they aren't allowed continue on their sports team or decline that invitation to go to the amusement park. So what do you enjoy doing in your free time now? Are there any hobbies or activities you are looking to try that you've never done before? Once we have a baby we may not have time for these activities either, so enjoy them while you can!
*Note that every pregnancy and every woman is different. Just because something is safe for one person doesn't mean it's safe for everyone; if you have any questions if something is safe for you please discuss it with your doctor.*
Re: Hobbies and Activities: safe and fun ways to pass the time
Weren’t there a few other crafters in this group?? Does anyone do the zero waste thing? I know it’s gaining in popularity!
I am limited by a few things. One is that we have a very short growing season and could get frost pretty much any night of the year. The other battle is that the uv is more intense at high altitude and burns the leaves off thing. On top of that, the prairie dogs think I'm planting an all you can eat buffet! I have a flower bed where I'm slowly learning what the rabbits and prairie dogs won't eat. Each year it looks a bit better. In my raised beds and cold frames I do well with potatoes and various salad greens and strawberries. I've failed with many other things. Every summer is a bit of an experiment.
edit I guess I should add my hobbies...I love my work, so learning more about my job is fun. I love working out. I like doing outdoor activities with my kids. I love Pinterest. It’s like shopping, but you don’t spend money. I like museums. I am not really crafty, but I pretend.
But really, from spring to fall we boat and beach a lot since we live here. Being on/near the water is our favorite activity as a family and with our friends. We don’t have a bunch of attractions to waste time otherwise.

@ibabyloveb87 I totally miss the beach. I grew up relatively close and now the closest beach is a lifetime away. My parents and sister do live at the beach now though and I am planning a trip to visit soon!

@brookert615 I’ve seriously been looking at buying a kayak! I like being on the water. I don’t know if I could whitewater kayak though, but I’m ok with flat water and ocean.
