This is a check-in for all high risk pregnancies. If you are AMA, it does not make you automatically high risk, and we have a different check-in for you ladies. Thank you!
Due date/W+D:
Why are you high risk?
Any new appointments?
Questions?
Rants/Raves:
Re: High Risk Check-in - June
Due date/W+D: Jan 18th / 7w2d
Why are you high risk? Genetic heart condition called CPVT. I'm on betablockers and waiting for an ICD implantation
Any new appointments? Not yet, but I'm going to call my cardiologist today and update him on this pregnancy, and then ask my OB about an MFM next week
Questions? Just curious as to how many extra appointments others have?
Rants/Raves: Just found out last week that my DD has this same heart condition, and it's likely I'll pass it to this baby too.
Due date/W+D: 1/4/2020 9w 2d
Why are you high risk? PCOS/insulin resistance, previous preterm labor (dd born at 32 weeks), and multiple miscarriages
Any new appointments?none till july
Questions?
Rants/Raves: at most I am kinda sad that I am going through the entire month of June without an appt/ultrasound. I tried making my appointment the first week of July (when i have the week off) but the receptionist wasn't sure which doctors would be in because of the holiday. My appointment is 7/9. So my 12 week appt is technically at 14 weeks!
I'm high risk due to genetic clotting disorder and I have to be on Lovenox shots throughout the pregnancy. Also I think my age, 37, and my history of PCOS contribute to risk. My progesterone seems to be low (about 10 the last three weeks running) and I was just put on a progesterone supplement.
My first appointment with the OB is 7/8. So far I've had a lot of bloodwork and tests and calls with the nurse. My rant is just that I guess. It seems like everyone on the board has seen their dr already and mine won't see me until July. I do have an intake appt with a nurse on June 20th, but that's at 10 weeks along.
@marebear15 great news about not being high risk!
@smount2011 @noranorabobora sorry you are both waiting so long to be seen. I guess that means your obviously isn't concerned though, right? Silver linings. I bet it's frustrating though.
Due date/W+D: 01/24 8WKs3DYs
Why are you high risk? I am very overweight and also 36.
Any new appointments? June 26th. I was told they like to see me every couple weeks for the first 2 trimesters because it's a big concern I'll get high blood pressure, gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. So far I feel good though!
Questions? Not right now
Rants/Raves: nothing about my pregnancy. Currently dealing with family drama regarding my inheritance though (my dad passed in January) so that's really stressful and annoying. I keep having fake arguments in my head of what I'd like to say. I'm not the only one that does that right?
@noranorabobora sorry I'm late to the party, but if you don't mind me asking, which clotting disorder do you have? I'm 29 and had multiple pulmonary embolisms in my lungs at 22. Turns out I have Factor V Leiden and Factor 2 Prothrombin disorder as well. Homozygous, so there's a chance I pass this on to my twins! This is my first (non-chemical) pregnancy, but I've been taking Lovenox shots twice a day since we started trying last July. Have to say, my stomach already looks crazy from some of these bruises, can't imagine once I'm in my 3rd trimester with twins! lol Anyways, I'm due a little after you, but obviously with clotting disorder, PCOS, and twins, I'm also high risk. My first OB appointment is tomorrow at 8 weeks 5 days, and I have so many questions. Hopefully we can keep each other positive!
The doctor just took me off the daily Lovenox shots because I was diagnosed with a large subchorionic hematoma (SCH) on Friday. The dr on Friday said she doesn't expect my pregnancy to continue. We met with a MFM specialist yesterday and the baby's doing well so far despite the large clot. He plans on putting me back on blood thinners if/when the hematoma resolves. We're having weekly ultrasounds going forward to monitor the baby. My odds aren't the best, but I'm trying to stay positive.
my pregnancy. Saw the MFM today and was told I’ll have to induce at 38 weeks in order to be off lovenox 24 hours before delivery. Thankfully baby looks well so far but I’m terrified about the delivery.
