    Can’t believe it’s June already!

I had a 16 week appointment yesterday. Very standard but I heard the baby’s heartbeat on the Doppler. He’s so cute 🥰

I have to schedule my anatomy scan before the end of the month and then have my 20 week OB appt June 28th. Geez it’s going fast!

I also got a slip for the 2nd trimester blood screen. I’m starting to feel like a pin cushion 😒

  • So pumped for the big scan on the 25th!! Parts of this next month are going to dragggg by because I am so excited to see baby again. I do feel like the closer I get to 20 weeks, the faster time seems to be going.
  • Is anyone doing the spina bifida blood test?
  • I did the spina bifida test, @emeraldcity1214
  • @creamcheeseplease I'm undecided. I have never taken that test before so im not sure it is truly necessary. But last pregnancy I opted out of some of the testing and regretted it in the end. Maybe I will wait and see what they say during the AS and if they think he is at risk for it I will go for it.

@emeraldcity1214 I had it a few weeks ago too... I just took what my doctor recommended 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have to call and schedule my anatomy scan! It's got to be at least 2 weeks from now since I'm only 16 weeks, so even though I think MH wanted to schedule it Thursday, I'm not in a huge hurry.
  • Going in for a 3D gender reveal today! It's a paid for thing just for fun, then I have my 20 week scan on the 25th- but want to have a gender reveal party before that!
  • @emeraldcity1214 - I opted out.  Which is unusual for me, I do alllll the tests to be armed with information.  But my doctor said since I did all the early testing and there wasn't a high risk that it wasn't worth it because it was the test that was most likely to give false positives.

Who knows? I decided this go around I didn't feel like yet another blood draw.

I had my 18 week check up and 1 hr glucose test. The girl drawing my blood took longer than she should have and I nearly passed out. I had to lay on the table for a few minutes and pull myself together afterwards which was fun. Now I'm just waiting for the phone call on whether I passed my 1 hr test or not 🙏 I'm not hopeful given my history, but praying for good news anyways!

  • @gumby22c fingers crossed for your glucose test you never know! Sorry getting blood drawn made you feel sick..been there.. it sucks!

Had 16 wk appt today and all was good but nothing too exciting. Finally was given the heart rate which was 140! Nice and healthy! Scheduled my AS and it will be July 15th which is forever away but the earliest they could have me in for an evening so my husband could be there. Also had second round of blood drawn for genetic testing. First one came back clear of any concerning markers so I can't complain at all except for my long long wait for the AS (I'll be 21+2 by then 😩)
  • 18 week appointment was on Wednesday.  Good heartbeat.  I got myself an early GD diagnosis and insulin prescription but my numbers are looking good so I'm super happy its being managed.  Anatomy can at the end of the month!  Excited to see my little boy again!
  • I met my midwife this week, and I'm so excited! Its like winning a lottery here (we have so few midwives to go around). Last week my doctor said that I was measuring a full month behind, so I was really nervous, but the midwife says I'm exactly where she wants to see me at 18 weeks. Next up is the anatomy scan and then getting the results back from the maternal serum screen! The end of the month can't come fast enough!
  • I got the call I failed the 1 hr glucose test, so now I have to squeeze in the 3hr before I leave next week for vacation. Even though I expected to fail it, I'm still disappointed. And not looking forward to doing the 3 hour again.

  • @gumby22c Ugh, I'm sorry you failed it. I hope you pass the 3hr test with room to spare!
  • @gumby22c

I'm here for you if you want to chat!  I am a glucose challenge failure myself!

@gumby22c I’m sorry about the 1 hr test! I hope you pass this next one!!
  • Thanks ladies! I had GD with my last pregnancy, so my hopes arent high but we'll see.

  • I had a check in with my OB a week ago and finally got to hear little boy's heartbeat for the first time. I have a cardiologist appointment on the 27th (I have an extensive cardiac history and he wants to start monitoring me), then the anatomy scan and first 1 hour glucose test on 6/28 (they're taking me off of my metformin and want to see how I react off of it- I've been on it for about two years for PCOS to prevent insulin resistance).
