  • Hi! I will be joining this group as well. My FET should be sometime in July as well.  A little about me: This will be our 3rd FET transfer. We transferred one embryo October 2018 but miscarried at 9 weeks. We did another transfer in March but this time transferred two embryos, one stuck but miscarried at 9 weeks again. I had a D&C May 7th so I should be getting my period any day now. Once I start my period I will be on birth control for two weeks, then begin medications to prep for the transfer. We plan on transferring two again. We ended up with 14 embryos and have 11 left, however we did not PGS test (although now we really wish we had). Doctor does not believe that the miscarriages have anything to do with me but rather thinks that the embryos must have had some chromosomal abnormalities. We did send the last embryo we miscarried for testing so still waiting on that. Hope July brings us all luck!

  • @jessica8bryant, this will be my third transfer as well but only 2nd frozen as my first one was fresh.  The highest beta I've ever had was 5.76 though.  Second one didn't stick at all. I'm doing PGS only for gender, my doctor doesn't really think it's necessary.  14 embryos is a lot!

  • My FET should be sometime in July. I am on the June IVF message group, but thought I would come over here too! Had my Day 3 U/S and bloodwork today. Went from 9 follies Friday to 14 today (2 kinda small ones), so hoping for a bit more growth, but just praying for a couple "normal" blasts!! I expect ER around the 12th or 13th of June. Prayers to everyone of us going through this right now!

  • @mrsjones91716 Ya we are dealing with male factor infertility and when we did my egg retrieval last year I had just turned 27 so I'm sure my age helped a lot. I have also always been really healthy so luckily my body responded well to the meds but who knows how many are normal. Now that I have miscarried twice I am worried that most are not normal but I am just trying to stay positive and hopefully third time is the charm.

@ladyp0tter Welcome! I am looking forward to following your journey. Are you PGS testing is that why you are doing a FET?
  • @jessica8bryant Thank you! Yes we will be doing PGS testing in hopes to transfer a 5day NORMAL blast! Preferably a boy, but honestly, so long as I have 1 normal one (praying to have 2-3)...I don't care what the sex is! If we have 3, we may transfer 2 of them. If we have only 2, probably only transfer 1. Haven't decided yet. :-)

Hi everyone, nice to meet you! I’m also in the May IVF group (@mrsjones91716 were you in that group too??) , but as of yesterday I found out that I have two PGS tested embryos to use for a FET (Boy, 5AA, Girl 6BB)!

My history: 2 failed IUI, 1 failed IVF (no blastocysts). This is my second IVF cycle and I am shocked to have to embryos to transfer. My estimated transfer date is July 9th, start meds next Tuesday.

I really look appreciate the support of these online communities and look forward to getting to know all of you! Sending lots of supportive thoughts xo
  • @akak23 yes, I was! My clinic has a closure so since we are doing PGS the earliest I would be able to do a transfer is July 9!

@mrsjones91716 our tentative transfer dates are the same! One month to go! All my medication came in the mail today, I’ve never made it this far in the process before so I wasn’t expecting to have to take so much. Totally worth it though!

@jessica8bryant do you have a tentative transfer date yet?

  • Hi, everyone. I will be doing an FET sometime in the near future. Basically my eggs were not good at all, we used a donor. And today we just got the results that only one of five embryos was PGS normal. With 20 eggs retrieved, only one good one. We were crushed. Devastated.

Long story short, $40,000 later we have ONE shot at this. One. I have endometriosis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, etc, not the healthiest body. I am really, really nervous about having one shot at this. I cant afford to do another donor cycle.

I would really appreciate any advice on how to prepare for an FET, all the things that should be done etc. He did the xray of the fallopian tubes/uterus and that was normal. My lining in general has been good. He wants to do the saline sono about two months before we do the transfer, I thought that it should be done closer?

other than estrogen, progesterone, are there other meds people have used? And lastly, are there any immunology tests anyone has done prior to this? My immune system and health has not been good, but no one finds much except “fibromyalgia”.

Sorry for all the questions. I am just very, very nervous. Thanks in advance.
  • akak23akak23 member
@LadyPotter we are going to transfer one at a time, based on the RE recommendation. I’d love a girl, but the boy is 5AA and the girl is 6BB, so I am assuming the doc is going to recommend the 5AA. Either way I’ll beyond thrilled. When do you hear back on your PGS test? Sending you positive thoughts for normals.

@casey301 this is my first one too (we didn’t get any blastocysts last cycle) so I’d love to hear any input on your questions too! I also have endometriosis so I am very concerned about implantation. Has your doctor said anything to you about that? Also, what is a saline sono?
  • @akak23 a saline sono is a sonohysterography. They insert saline into the uterus during an ultrasound and they can check the lining of the uterus for things like polyps etc. Your doctor hasn’t mentioned it? Also, my doctor hasn’t mentioned the endometriosis yet but I plan to ask. He did say the HSG could have shown issues for implantation due to endometriosis scarring but my HSG looked good. Did you get one of those?
  • akak23akak23 member
@casey301 I did the HSG before my first IVF in 2018, everything was fine, but I didn’t realize that would have shown endometriosis scarring so that makes me feel better! I don’t believe we did a saline so I but I’ll definitely ask at my next appointment this Tuesday. Thanks for the info! I’m going to ask a million questions so hopefully I will get more info to share!
  • @akak23 yes please share and I will do the same.
  • @akak23 I do not have a transfer date set yet. I am waiting to get my period and once I get that they will send me a schedule. I should be getting it any day now!
  • akak23akak23 member
    @jessica8bryant come on period! Lol

@casey301 I had my FET appointment with My RE today. Since I had a good HSG she did not recommend also getting a saline sono.

When I asked her about endometriosis being an issue for implantation, she said severe cases can cause a 3-5% reduced chance, but she did not consider it significant. Getting pregnant naturally is definitely harder to do with endometriosis, but she felt IVF overcomes most of those barriers.

When it came to selecting an embryo, she said that our 5AA, PGS tested embryo has a 73-75% chance of implantation and our 6BB, PGS tested embryo has about a 65% chance. Transferring both at once would give us about an 83% chance, but we’ve decided to just transfer the 5AA since the 10% increase in chance doesn’t outweigh the risks with twins. (Our personal choice, not right or wrong to choose a different path, just sharing.)

Hope your appointment goes well and you get lots of answers too.
  • Hi Everyone.  I’ll do a quick intro here.  I’m 35 and my husband is 36.

     ****trigger warning***
We have one 4 year old son and have been trying for a second child for just over a year and a half.
    ***

I’ve had 3 miscarriages and my RE assumes it is due to poor egg quality since all my and my husband’s tests come back normal.  I’ve done one retrieval and out of 10 eggs, we only ended with 2 4bb blasts.  We decided to do PGS testing and we are waiting on results.  My doctor made some comments that made me think they will not be coming back normal.  We are already mentally preparing for a second cycle.  If one of the blasts come back with a normal result, our transfer will be in July.
  • @married_to_a_muggle sorry to hear all that.  Just curious, what did the doctor say? I'm curious how they can tell if they won't be coming back normal?  Mine are being sent off for PGS tomorrow and I'm so dreading the wait.

  • @ladyp0tter, just had my cd3 baseline blood work and ultrasound this morning.  Everything looks good (uterine lining thin, ovaries quiet) so for now they are just putting me on birth control until my PGS results come in 'early next week'.  Then, assuming at least one come back normal, I'll start estrogen.  PIO isn't usually until 5 days before transfer.  Are you going in for your baseline since you just started your cycle?  My last FET when we didn't have to wait for PGS results I started estrogen patches cycle day 4 which is really the latest they wanted me to start but I had to wait for my pharmacy to get the patches in, they had to order them.

  • @mrsjones91716 - I just had my baseline yesterday. Waiting on the results today to see if my estrogen is low enough to do an FET this cycle. She said the same (BC if not). My lining has gone back down and ovaries are looking smaller, so long as my estrogen looks low enough, I can start the pills and patches this weekend. I have them already, so I should be good for my trip thank God! Now it's a waiting game to hear from them as I was told yesterday that although all my embryos were still growing, none were ready to freeze yet on day 5. She said 8 looked "promising", but that we would have to wait for the report today. So nervous!! I was very surprised that out of 20, not 1 was "ready" yesterday...makes me wonder about the quality?!

  • @ladyp0tter they really aren't kidding when they say the numbers drop quite a bit between days 3 and 5!

@mrsjones91716 I totally read your comment at first that you start PIO 5 days AFTER the transfer. I was so thankful I read that wrong 😅 I was like after transfer isn't going to do anything!

  • Hi all, I recognize some names from the June IVF group. I just had my FET scheduled for July 25th. We had our ER done on June 18 where they retrieved 15 eggs, 11 mature and 9 fertilized. From that we have 6 frozen embabies waiting for us.
This will be our first IVF and FET cycle. I started estrace today, taking 1 per day until 7/5, then increasing to 2 per day. PIO shots and progesterone suppositories starting soon as well.
After the FET....when can you take a home pregnancy test?

  • Hi ladies, I’m gearing up for FET in July.

My background: We did ER last year, and with ICSI we got almost a dozen blasts. No PGS testing. I was going to do a fresh transfer, but got mild OHSS so we froze all. We transferred 1 at the end of December, but at the 10 week ultrasound we found out it was a missed miscarriage. I got a D&C, but took almost 8 weeks to get my period. We did an OH, and found retained placenta. I took misoprostol (medicine that helps you complete a miscarriage), but at the next OH we saw it was still attached. I had a second surgery in May, then took estrogen to help my lining heal. Third OH showed no more retained material, but mild inflammation. I just finished a round of antibiotics, and am finally able to do a FET this cycle.

The last FET cost me over 7 months, and I’m so scared it will happen again. I’m hoping this is the cycle!

@covergirl2985, I always do because I can't wait until beta.
@inthewoods23, wow that is a long delay, so frustrating!
@LauraJon2015, that is scary and a lot that you went through.  I hope this is your cycle too!
I've got 2 PGS normal GIRLS which is the gender I wanted so I'm so happy!! I've got 1 'undetermined' so waiting for the doctor to talk to me about whether to retest that one or not.  1 came back Down's, 1 came back Turner's, 1 came back monosomy-16 so we went from 6 embryos to 2 so I'm so glad we did the testing.  I go in 7/1 for baseline blood work, if everything looks ok start estrogen 7/4 and first monitoring appointment 7/10.  Based on my last FET timeline and my doctor's schedule and if everything goes smoothly I've guessed my transfer might be around 7/23.  We'll see. Good luck to us all!

  • @jessica8bryant After my miscarriage, I wish we had PGS testing too. With the D&C, I got the “material” tested and it came back genetically normal, so it wouldn’t have been caught with PGS testing anyway. My RE did a bunch of bloodwork and couldn’t find anything wrong with me, so she thinks the embryo did have a genetic issue but it was too small to pick up in the test. Maybe a translocation. Anyway, my RE is not recommending we do PGS testing on the frozens, just to keep pushing forward and trying again. I’m hoping it works out for you this time :)
  • @casey301 @akak23 I don’t have endometriosis, so maybe this isn’t helpful.... I’m on estrogen patches (I did pills before, but they made me depressed - the patches work better for me) - I use an alcohol swap to help remove as it dissolves the adhesive. Soon I’ll start endometrin tablets, morning and night, and PIO every night.

I’ve heard pomegranate juice is good for lining, same with acupuncture. Also keeping your feet toasty warm helps with blood flow to the uterus? I take spirulina tablets because it’s supposed to be anti-inflammatory and packed with antioxidants, but I think it’s more for general health. I’ve heard of girls trying diets to reduce inflammation, but I don’t really know if those work. GL!
  • Hi all! Checking in. Of my 24 eggs, 20 fertilized, 15 day 3's, 8 still going at day 5, but 7 made it to Freeze/Blasto.

I'm on day 6 of PGS Testing/Waiting results! Hopefully, I will hear either tomorrow or Monday. Tentative FET on July 12th, Friday (so long as we have a normal or two). I have been on the estrogen pills and patches (3 pills a day and 1 patch switched out every 4 days). PIO has been delivered and I think she said would start 6 days before FET so roughly July 6th?

As for alternative therapy - I have been doing at home acupuncture, taking supplements (CoQ10, L-Arginine, Baby Asprin for protein S deficiency and normal prenatals). I have also been putting my feet up the wall for as long as I can to bring the blood flow to my uterus.

  • Hello, moving on over here because I got my calendar and my FET has been scheduled for July 26th. Right now I'm on birth control until the 7th and then will have monitoring on the 8th and if all looks good will start with the estrace. I have 8 frozen blastocysts all good quality but didn't have PGS testing done at this time since I'm 31 and it's our first IVF cycle. I'm so excited but also so nervous. The waiting is so hard. At least with the stimming I felt like I was doing something.
  • @littleredm So excited for you!!!  And all the ladies transferring so soon! FX and GL :)
