I have a few tattoos... a shamrock, a celtic knot work design on my upper back that has two upside down hearts embedded in it, and a harp on my back as well. I want to get another one, I've wanted a celtic tree of life for awhile now, but haven't found just the right one yet. I'm also pretty torn on the location. If I do get this, it will likely be my last tattoo.
I love tattoos, MH hates tattoos but knows better than to say anything about mine anymore.
Hopefully I won't be the only one to post here and hopefully some of you all have pics handy!
I got a tattoo with my best friends a couple years ago. Three trees with two birds on the back of our right legs, right above the ankle. I'd love to get one more. My DH hates tattoos.
I love tattoos but I don't have any myself! Someday. Hey @creamcheeseplease 🇮🇪🍀 love your Celtic tats. I'm about as American-Irish as they come. Love Celtic knots/crosses. Thought about getting a claddagh tattoo for a while too. 😊
I love them. I have 5, and want a couple more. I already know what and where my next one will be, but waiting for baby and such 😁 @creamcheeseplease I also have a Celtic tattoo!
I like tattoos and want one someday, but I just havent pulled the trigger yet. I've changed my mind about what I want and where to get it over the years, so maybe someday I'll actually go through with it.
I have 3 and only regret one of them. The one I regret is a Celtic star on my lower back. It's not ugly, I just wouldn't do it again if I had the option. On my left rib cage I have a sparrow I got with some of my best friends and I love it. On my right rib cage I have the phrase '...and miles to go before I sleep' because I love that poem and I wanted something I could tie to running that wasn't super obvious.
No tattoos for me but not because I hate them. I hate needles and I am well aware that I can't decide on any one thing for longer than a few years.
My mom has three roses on her ankle (one for each kid) and she wants to update it with a butterfly and a ladybug for her two grand daughters which I think is cute.
I don't have any tattoos. I don't want something that is permanent because I would probably end up hating it. My brother got a tattoo and the person who did it did a horrible job so that is another fear I have.
I do have a few piercings and I wouldn't mind getting another.
No tattoos here. I was considering doing a memorial one for our two losses but decided against it. I don’t mind tattoos on other people. I enjoy looking at them and hearing people’s stories behind the how and why, and can I can totally appreciate the talent and artistic ability it takes to do them but they’re just not for me.
No tattoos here. I wanted to get a Calvin and Hobbes one with my brother, but he doesnt seem to be on board with it.
I'm also SUPER indecisive and while I have an idea of something I want, I don't know where to put it. I was thinking up my side. Or scale it down and have it on my wrist. Idk, so it'll probably be a long time before it happens.
I have "everything happens for a reason" (because I was 18 and corny), my family member's names in those candy conversation hearts, a cat my late stepdad drew for me when I was young and it has a conversation bubble that says "wolf pack" in his handwriting ( it was our special "club" with our pets while i was growing up), and lyrics from a Taylor Swift song.
I only kind of regret my last one. I was recently out of a VERY abusive relationship and just not in the right headspace. The lyrics don't apply to my life now but I still think Taylor Swift is alright.
Currently I only have 3. Two are less than impressive lol so I wont add photos of those; one is copeland lyrics on my feet and the other are shooting stars on my right hip that I got with my bff at 18. I doubt I will ever cover them because even though they aren't good looking, they stamp a time in my life that is bitter sweet to be reminded of at times. My DH has a lot of tattoos and I can't wait to get more! Here is a picture of my tattoo thats been over 10 years in the making, always said I wanted a wizard of oz tattoo since I was young. It was done over 2 sessions and took 8 hours total. Very fresh and swollen in this picture.
Glad to see other ladies with a celtic bent haha @dani_0921@ABabyMarshall@runningfortwo81 heres some of the tree tattoo ideas I have saved. (edited to fix spoiler)
I have one on the inside of my left wrist of wildflowers. I got it when I turned 40 as a reminder of some really hard struggles the past few years and how I can remain strong.
No tattoos, no judgement. I had/have always wanted a tattoo, but I change my mind so quickly on design that it just isn't for me. My husband always jokes about getting a cheeseburger somewhere on him, but I think he's afraid of his mother's judgment, haha.
@alaluap the cheeseburger tattoo idea makes me think of when I was in high school and my best friends boyfriend got a taco bell tattoo on his thigh. It was a horribly done, drunken mess paid for with a party pack...
It's not my thing because I just wouldn't be comfortable with something permanent, I'm convinced I would eventually regret or it would look bad later. But I think they are interesting and I've enjoyed temporary tattoos on occasion. Several years ago as a thought experiment I considered what I'd do if I ever did get a real one; probably an anklet of ivy... and thinking about it now, I just realized that my dishes are in this pattern, so... I guess my taste is consistent? Haha.
