  • The app doesn't let me search threads, but I saw that The Loft does a box subscription where you can get 8 items, wear them as long as you want, and then send them back. it includes maternity. I signed up this morning. The selection wasn't as great as I'd hoped, but I'm hoping it helps my work clothes situation. I'll let you know how my first box turns out!
  • I just went to get my lunch.  The mom of this particular establishment was there today, haven't seen her in a couple of months.  She just asked me if I've been losing weight.....

@kgg2241 I got an email about that yesterday. Color me intrigued! I love the Loft. They're good teacher/mom clothes that aren't too "old" lol. Let me know how it goes!
@LilyASF42 hmmm.... sounds like someone isn't very observant..?? What a weird thing to say!

Omg I dont know what this kid is doing in my belly today but she has not stopped kicking me all day. I dont know if it's the way I am sitting or her position.
  • @zuuls_mom 😂😂😂 kids say the best things!

  • 😂😂 @zuuls_mom

I just sat down to relax for a second and do something (presumably) important on my phone but I have no idea what it was anymore. GAH! I’m going to have to try to retrace my steps.
  • @kdl89 same thing was happening to my yesterday! She was nonstop moving all day. MH joked and said didn't you know it was soccer practice today?!
  • @zuuls_mom ha, little boys are so funny and amazing. Lots of balls, farts and penis talk here too
  • @zuuls_mom that is hilarious! My son announced on the way out of his classroom that, “sometimes my penis gets big.” What exactly was the right thing to say in response to that?! I don’t think I said anything, and I just flushed bright red! I’m going to have to get faster in my response skills with this kid! Hahaha... this age is pretty stinkin’ fun tho!
  • I’m torn between feeling relieved I’ll be missing all the penis comments and feeling sad for missing out on the hilarity!

I can second all that is being said. My oldest thinks saying poopie is so funny - his 18 Mo brother is following suit. I don’t know where they get this stuff !!!

  • @cammie0526 I don't recall ever having it as a kid, nor do I recall my siblings ever having it? But my daughter has had it twice, and my nieces and nephews have had it as well... maybe its just selective memory!

  • Really, really over this child kicking my cervix. Is she trying to stand? I am being punched above my belly button and kicked in the cervix/bladder. Please chill out, kid.

  • @cmdesigner agreed, the cervix kicks are the woooorst.
  • @kaceyallan it's so distracting. It's not so much uncomfortable as it is weird to be in a meeting and have her stomping on my cervix the entire time I am trying to have a conversation.
  • @cmdesigner Haha! I totally agree. It's weird in general that there is so much going on in my body that no one has any idea about. Don't mind me wincing while baby bounces on my bladder and I try to determine if I'm going to pee.

  • For all my fellow Anthropologie fans, right now they are having 20% off of everything, an additional 25% off all sale, and free shipping! This is a good deal! Usually they only do sales on the sale stuff.
  • @cmdesigner omg yeeeesss!!! This girl is ALL OVER kicking my cervix and it’s just super weird because the only other times I have any form of sensation down there are for orgasms or during sex so it’s always like WOAAAAAH what’s going on?!?  Sometimes I fully expect to just see a foot pop out of my vagina! Lol

@sunshine2417 lol! Sometimes it hits me how strange pregnancy is. Like when my belly moves in public. I am so sure everyone can see it and i feel self conscious....

I actually like the kicking - only because this is my third pregnancy w anterior placenta, so the movement is muffled.

I am am not sure where this comment needs to go but is anyone out there car shopping? Long story : got a new car for my bday in September last year. Surprise third and there’s really no way to make my current car work. Apparently my car has already depreciated 30% but looking as used cars, they don’t follow that same math. Ie. Those cars are depreciating on a diff schedule. I tried to ask why and one guy actually told me “the math is too complicated.” Bitch, please.

Tl;dr: I now hate car shopping and people who sell cars (I am sorry if anyone out there does!!!!). I just feel like it’s been this ongoing saga and we are getting fleeced!!!

Alternatively, I can strap this baby on top of the car, like cargo. Something tells me that will be frowned upon 🤪

eta: I am sorry if this is in the wrong place. Just let me know and I will move it!

@rms924 Some cars just depreciate faster, it’s based on how desirable the car is for resale and what people are willing to pay for it. Are you 100% sure three car seats won’t fit? There are some super slim car seats out there - the Diono Radian advertises that it’s able to fit three across and I can confirm it is really skinny (we tested it out). It’s a combo RF and FF one.

    eta grammar
  • @rms924 I always feel like I’m getting screwed when car shopping too. The internet makes it easier to know if you’re getting a good starting price, but then they just start adding on fees and trade in values and loan rates and the price feels like it doubles 🙄 I went to a few places and finally settled on a place that at least made me feel like they were trying to explain it well. I probably still got screwed, but at least they tried to explain stuff so I thought I understood 😂
Do you know anyone who’s good at this sort of thing that you could bring with you?
  • rms924rms924 member
@lillywonderland I tried the clek - whoever is in the middle isn’t really secured. And it can’t be the baby because it’s super hard to get an infant seat in the middle. BUT, maybe the diano would work. I haven’t tried those!

The other issue is just the sheer space for anything else. But getting 3 car seats and just keeping the car would def save my sanity...😀

  • @rms924 There is a special level of hell for used car salesmen who treat women like idiots. Right up there with mechanics who do the same thing. Dude, I'm not stupid.
  • rms924rms924 member
@RedBreast35 I am so glad I am not alone. Yes, it’s like just be nice to me while you are trying to fleece me. One guy legit gave me a used price for a car that when I went to price out on the website brand new was the exact same price plus 800 bucks or so!!! Hahahaha.

I am trying out car seats one more time. I actually even contacted a car seat installer for help and they too know that my type of car has this installation issue in the middle seat...not ideal but worth a try w another type of seat

@cheshyre319 I couldn’t agree more. I hate being talked down to- I actually love cars, know a lot about them. One guy told me that I won’t even know the difference between a 5.3 l vs 6.2 l engine. I just sat there in disbelief because a. You can tell the difference and b. He would prob never say that to a guy.

I would bring my husband (he’s tough!) but I have more flexibility during the day, so it’s been helping for me to do the initial scouting. At this point, I may have exhausted all the nearby dealerships and my sanity. Might be time to take a break. I still have a good 3 months (‘not that it’s a good idea to procrastinate) - maybe it will be easier if I sell my car privately. We are trying that route too

thanks for listening to my complaints! Just hard to lose money when a new baby is on the way and our budget is tighter

  • Thanks for checking @rms924 I'm all good  :)
  • @cheshyre319 ugh, yeah. I end up taking our cars for maintenance because of DH's schedule, and DH just does not get how women can be treated rolling up to even a basic oil change. The place we go now, our first visit involved me explaining that the last place neglected to do something simple with a routine maintenance and I was disinclined to go back there, and the guy asked me some (basic) questions about what had actually been done to the car and was clearly impressed I knew the answers. In my head I was like 'come on!!! this is explicitly why I'm here!!!' - but they are polite and explain things and are good at documenting what they do, so I'll take it. But I still kind of dread the appointments.
@rms924 car shopping is the pits. DH is decent at it; I hate the idea of walking into a dealership without him.
  • I have so much to catch up on today! It’s been a day. DD woke up with eyes swollen shut from (mystery allergic reaction). This is now, after 2 doses of Benadryl, one of Cephalexin, and 2 visits to pedi.

  • @kiddiesandkitties OMG poor thing! That looks miserable. Any idea what could have caused it?
  • @kiddiesandkitties Aww noooo! That really stinks! Was her window open last night? Could a bug/spider have gotten her in her sleep? I hope she starts feeling better ASAP!!
  • rms924rms924 member
@kiddiesandkitties omg!!!! Are you starting to see the reaction fade at all? Usually 45 minutes and you should see an improvement. I hope so!
