Re: Group 2 Check-In (Aug. 8-14) w/o 8/3

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Aug. 11/ 30+1

Baby is the size of a(n): Zucchini

    Team Pink/Blue/Green?: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Starting bi-monthly appointments now, so my next check-up is in a couple weeks

How are you feeling?: Tired and fatigued. Baby is putting so much pressure on my ribs and lungs I feel so out of breath all the time.

Rants/Raves: Rave- had my work baby shower last week and had such a good time! We received so many needed things! A few of the partners even teamed up to buy my rocker! Rant- It is review time around my firm and I always get anxious, even though I really have nothing to be anxious about.

Questions: Not that I can think of...

GTKY- What was your first car? What do you currently drive? Are you planning on getting a new vehicle in anticipation of the new baby?:
My first car was a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am. I currently drive a 2013 Audi A4. While it is on the smaller side, it still has a lot of miles left in it and we don't plan to get rid of it any time soon. We also lease a Ford Edge, so that will probably be the vehicle that hauls a lot of baby gear.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/12

Baby is the size of a(n): Zucchini...I just feel like all this food comparison is so inconsistent.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green?: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: 6/7 for regular check and to go over last US

How are you feeling?: Eh... I feel tired and like an overstuffed incubator with occasional moments of feeling great!

Rants/Raves: I realize that I’m a FTM and have a lot to learn. But if someone tells me one more time that what I’m planning ‘is a mistake’ or ‘oh you’ll learn that’ and then follows it up with their experience, I’m going to choke someone. No, it’s not a mistake to put new carpet in the room I intend to use as the nursery thank you very damn much.

    Questions:

GTKY- What was your first car? What do you currently drive? Are you planning on getting a new vehicle in anticipation of the new baby?: First car was a Nissan Frontier pickup that my sister totaled while she was borrowing it....because she had hit a deer in her car and didn’t want to drive it because the front headlight looked funny. No I’m not still bitter. Current vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler....it is lifted and I’m afraid the struggle is about to get very real when it comes to getting in and out of it. We ideally will get a better commuter/kid friendly car but it likely won’t be until after she’s born.
  • @emqbee Wait...someone is criticizing you for wanting to put new carpet in your soon to be nursery? Who does that???

Re: food comparisons...yes they are totally inconsistent. Last week TB told me LO was the size of an acorn squash and another site told me he was the size of a butternut squash. Those things are NOT the same size!  :D

@Lotus_2008 yes!! I mentioned something about doing it and her immediate response was, “well that’s a mistake, you’ll see. You’ll regret it with pee accidents.” The best part was that it was DAY 2 of knowing this girl. Maybe it’s just because I don’t have many friends with kids but it’s like she feels like she should tell me how she thinks everything should be since I’m a first timer. It’s super annoying. I’m fairly reserved and I keep my opinions to myself mostly. I’d never tell someone what they should/shouldn’t do especially if I just met them. Oh well...
