Hi ladies had an update this week.

Had my endometrial scratch on Tuesday. My clinic puts you under anesthetic for this which I'm glad. He scraped the endometrial lining and also made cuts to the left, right and top of my uterus to widen the cavity. I do have some kind of infection so I'm on antibiotics for 2 weeks. I felt ok after the procedure just super tired and very aware of my uterus.

I'm on day 17 of BCP today. We submitted DH characteristics for a sperm donor match today and I had my ultrasound done. Everything is looking good and we are good to start gonal daily tomorrow and I'm expecting to have my baseline ultrasound and start stims around 1 or 2nd June

Hoping someone here might know - I finished my last BCP on Saturday so now it's just injections of lupron until stims start. Should I expect a period in the next day or 2? I wasn't sure if the lupron would keep AF away or not. What's been your experience?

@inthewoods23 I am taking gonal daily (which I believe has similar effects to the lupron) and I did during my last IVF cycle in April as well. Last cycle AF came 4 days after my last BCP ended. I had been on gonal daily from day BCP 17.

@inthewoods23, I bled when getting off bc and starting lupron. Nurse said it was normal.

If timing is the same as last cycle (getting AF 4 days after the last BCP), AF should arrive tomorrow. I just hope my lining sheds well and/or builds better this time. I don't want to have to wait an extra month for my FET if I have to do surgery to clean it.

@covergirl2985 welcome! Protocols are different depending on the RE and person. I was on bcp for two weeks and then had my baseline today. Depending on my blood work results I should be starting stims within the next few days.

@ACAC I'm so glad that the scratch went well. I know you were anxious about trying to decide whether to get one done. I hope that the infection clears up and that everything else planned goes smoothly for you.

@inthewoods23 fx for no extra waiting for your FET.

Hi All! I am new here. I am hoping to have ER in roughly 3 weeks. on Estrace now until AF, then start injectibles until ER. Its my first IVF. My husband and I have been married 3 years.

I have 3 daughters (singleton at 27yo and spontaneous ID twins at 34yo) with my ex and 4 m/c (before 1st child: blighted ovum, 7wks, before my second children: blighted ovum, 8wks) but had my tubes tied after my twins, so hoping that our 1st IVF is successful.

I am almost 44 husband is 46, so this is a scary time for me as the "old lady" on the block!! Hoping I get enough eggs that can produce at least 1-2 good ones. We are doing PGS testing in hopes for a Boy, but more so to ensure we transfer (FET) a "normal" blasto! Looking forward to spending the next few weeks with you ladies!

Hi everyone, first time posting here! About me: 34, DH 35. Doing IVF because of blocked tubes from stage IV endometriosis. Only one egg producing ovary due to past surgery that removed too much ovarian tissue. DH has no issues on his end. This will be my first IVF cycle starting mid-June (AF due 6/14) but I have done 2 egg retrievals in the past. We will be making embryos with the frozen eggs as well as fresh eggs retrieved this cycle, and banking embryos since I have to have another risky endo surgery before we do a FET. Will likely do at least one more IVF cycle this summer probably 2 depending on how many PGS tested embryos we get. Luckily for this process I have very short cycles and have stimmed very quickly in the past (triggered day 6 last time). As for pre-stim protocol I am not on BCP but I have been put on an estrogen dot and have been taking 600mg coq10, royal jelly and dhea. Upped my dose of coq10 since my last retrievals so hoping it will have a positive result! What have you all done to prepare—anything I should add in the next few weeks?! I got bloods this past day 2 and my estrogen was nice and low and fsh was 6.8, which was very encouraging as it was as high as 13 back in 2015 when I was 30. So hoping my eggs have not declined more with age yet... Glad to be on this journey with you all—much love and positive energy during this process!

@mrsjwm welcome!

US & BW were this morning. I have the green light to start stims tomorrow!

They like to see less than 60 for the estrogen but mine was about 75. Apparently my RE is still fine with that since that's basically been my baseline number for every baseline BW I've had done so that's just my normal.

Does anyone have any insight to why they like less than 60 and/or if it's bad to have a baseline above that? Does it affect the meds in any way? Just curious.

Oh! And they counted 15+ follicles for my AFC so I'm hoping for lots of chances for eggs to become embryos 🙂

Well, AF started a few days early yesterday, likely due to estrogen pills, and today was my baseline U/S for follicles and blood draw. I should know later today what the numbers look like. I am to start stims tonight. 225 Gonal f and 225 menopur. Next U/S scheduled for Monday morning. Looking forward to hearing about everyone's progress!!

Just received results from U/S and Bloodwork for Day 2:

FSH 2.82,
Estradoil 114 (but they had me on estrace for over a week so I don't know if that is a good test as last month it was only 63 on day 3), and
LH of 5.82.

I had 9 follicles in sight so far (L: 12.2, 5.8, 5.4, 5.0 R: 4.9, 5.5, 5.6, 7.8, 7.0) Hoping that is a good start. I know I ovulated Right side last month so, the 12.2 one is the dominant on the Left for now. Hoping the others can catch up quick and all make it (plus some others to grow).

At 43yrs old, I need all that I can get in hopes to get 1-2 normal Blasts!! Praying Hard!!

Hi all. I was wondering if some of you could tell me when the last ultrasound was before the retrieval. Does four days before the retrieval sound like too long? Should one be done at least two days before (the day of the trigger)? I thought my clinic may have left too long of a span, but maybe I am wrong. We used a donor IVF this month, my own eggs just were not good. The donor board isnt too active though, I thought I would ask my question here. The reason I am asking is because 8 eggs were not mature, I thought that was a lot, and 7 just didnt create blastocysts. So we just got 5 embryos from a proven donor, but medium grade. I usually hear people going in for ultrasounds at least two days before, not four. I didnt know if maybe that could have caused 8 to not be mature.

@casey301 I have experienced both. During my first IVF my last US was 2 days before ER (trigger day). However, I think this was mostly because my ER was moved up because I responded too well to stims and my follicles grew very quickly. My last IVF I had my US 4 days before ER. My follicles grew much slower this time. I cannot speak to whether this changed my results or not because my whe protocol changed.

So.. started stims. Which was not great considering I did not have a sink available because we had Relay for Life yesterday/today (I did have had sanitizer available). That was great fun to be doing in the tent... Plus I hadn't had time to watch the injection videos for menopur and Gonal-F before the time I needed to take them. UGH.

On the positive side, the menopur did not burn as bad as I thought it would. I did stick an ice pack to my skin for a few seconds so maybe that helped, but I thought I'd be feeling the burn for a lot longer after the injection.

@mrsjones91716 Hello fellow endometriosis friend. I've been taking CoQ10 as well to prepare but other than that I haven't done anything else. I hope that the increased CoQ10 shows good results for you!

@inthewoods23 The menopur wasn't as bad for me either! Thank goodness!

Started my stims last night, Gonal-F and Menopur. DH did all the mixing and was so nervous he was having me play the videos step by step. I told him we'd both be pros at this by the end. The bad part is that I had a headache before we did the injections I think from coming off the bcp and just my hormones being messed with and today it's been even worse. I've had to lie down for most of the day in a dark room but right now I felt good enough to post and eat dinner. I'm hoping the headache clears up soon and isn't a side effect from the meds.

@littleredm is that why I feel crappy today too? Haha granted my legs felt like death after Relay, but I had a headache too. Must be side effects 😩

And I almost forgot! I post this for everyone waiting on their follicles to grow. A lot of us are on stims at this point so, grow follies grow!

AF started yesterday. Had my baseline US today but was told my endometrium and my follicles are out of sync so its recommended to wait another cycle before starting stims. I'm so frustrated and anxious. I hate when plans change. And I feel stressed. We have a big international move home in the end of August and was hoping to not do this last round so close to that. I guess I'm going to be straddling June and July boards now. BC now, next apt is 17th June to check follicles and start gonal daily. 😔 I'm so bummed by this delay.

My estrogen looks good I think (in the 300s). Follicle count is 14 right ovary, 17 left ovary. RE is having me drop my Gonal-F dose from 125 to 75. Must be growing a little too well!

Who else has their ER this week? I'm guessing they are still try to shoot for an early next week ER for me.

Had my second U/S and blood draw this morning. Day 3 on Stims. Went from 9 follicles total Friday to 14 this morning. 5 on the left, 9 on the right (although a couple were tiny in comparison at only 2.9 and 3.3), so hoping that is a good sign the meds are working! Same dosage until Wednesday (225/225 Gonal-F and Menopur) when she said we would know more whether to add more. For me it is all QUALITY Vs. QUANTITY!! However, I need Quantity to GET quality...lol!!

I am a bit concerned because my estradoil level is high (from what others say should be less than 60?). Mine is 144 (was 114 Friday). . LH is 5.24 and progesterone at .479.

Praying for everyone who has an ER coming up this week and for great follicle growth for the rest of us!!! I am guessing my ER will be around the 12th or 13th of June. She expected me to need 12 days of stims.

@ladyp0tter estradiol of less than 60 is what they like to see before starting stims, it should rise once on stims. My baseline was around 75 but that apparently is my baseline looking at past BW. I'm at 327 after 3 days of stims.

Is that too high for only 3 days?

@ladyp0tter we are on the same dose of meds! I've been on the same dose since the beginning and on day 10 of stims now.
after 3 days of stims my e was 214, after 5 - 417 and after 8 - 1039. I think it's all normal and there was something I found on reddit where this girl who had been through multiple cycles did a spreadsheet and realized her e levels had nothing to do with outcome of any of her cycles.

@mrsjones91716 GOOD TO HEAR!! I think more so from my Dr. Googling, that it can signify POR when you have high e and low LH (high e can make the LH look low). I know I am AMA, so I guess it makes sense although my e was 63 before they made me take estrogen, so hopefully my number was high because of what they made me take.

My follicles didn't grow much Friday to Monday, but went from 9 of them to 14 so I guess that's good. She said we should see more growth and know better tomorrow what my cycle will look like!! I hope they keep my dose the same (for the sake of cost! LOL)

Good morning all! We begin STIMs tomorrow after our baseline appt...so excited that this is finally happening! My meds are being delivered today...I know Follistim needs to be in the fridge, and the trigger shot (which we dont have delivered yet)....anything else need to be stored in the fridge? I've heard mixed things.

@littleredm What videos did you watch to learn about mixing/injections? I ordered my meds through a different pharm than my RE uses so they wanted to charge me $300 to learn how to do it....I've watched some on YouTube, but didnt know if you had any better suggestions for mixing/injecting.

@covergirl2985 I also had cetrotide in the fridge. I think it doesn't have to be if you are going to use it within 3 months but if you want it to be good until the expiration date it needs to be in the fridge. I'm going to end up using all of mine but since I wasn't sure if I'd have leftovers I just kept it in fridge.
Also, I just watched the videos on the drug manufacturer's website and found those helpful.

I probably trigger Friday, probably ER Sunday! Of course I needed the full recommended 12 days of stims, ugh!

I'm feeling a lot better after my ultrasound today. My follicles are growing, still on the slow side but I have 3 over 10mm now and 7 in the 6-8mm range. Then a few smaller ones that weren't measured. I'm waiting on the nurse for further instructions on dosaging. The nurse who did my ultrasound said they may increase again so not to be surprised if they do. I like that she printed me out a sheet with my follicles sizes so I know what they are.

@littleredm my follicles are about the same size as well! Ranging around 7-11 or 12mm. She counted a few less today, but we still have a lot!

they just called to update me to increase gonal f to 300 keep menopur at 225 and see me tomorrow as I'll probably trigger tomorrow now for a saturday retrieval! I have one follicle measuring at 20 and a bunch more between 15-17 so I guess that made them move it up a day! I know it's only one day but one day less waiting!

@mrsjones91716 great news! Sounds like you have a good set up for a lot of mature eggs!

I had my day 5 U/S and bloodwork. 3 or 4 on the left between 9.4 - 10.5mm (there were 5 2 days ago and she had issues finding my ovary today so hopeful that some are just hiding!!) and 9 on the right between 6.4 - 8.5 (same number as Monday).

They kept my dosage the same 225/225 Gonal F & Menopur. She said probably expect 12 full days of stims but that she felt things were growing well just slowly.
