I think we may have touched on this in the formula/food stuff PS, but it’s on the schedule and I can’t think of anything else.
S(+)TMs, share what brands you and your LOs love and any advice on capacity or how many to buy. If there’s an accessory that you can’t live without (e.g. warmer, drying rack, dishwasher basket, etc.), please let us know!
FTMs, use this as a place to ask any questions you might have.
@rms924 no, I never had any issues. I still have the ones from my 1st that I bought 3-4 years ago. My kids like the nipple style and have worked great for me. I use the plastic ones.
I used Dr Browns last time. It was a gift set and they worked so I never questioned anything else. I’m not sure what I’ll use this go around. I definitely loved the grass drying rack!
Plan on trying Avent with this LO since they worked really well for DS. Aiming to BF, but if/when we switch to formula I’m totes buying a baby brezza. I’m allllll about modern conveniences.
Editing to add one thing I forgot. MIXIE BOTTLES. They are amazing and so convenient for out and about if you formula feed! The bottle keeps the formula and water separate until you’re ready to mix and all you have to do is push the button release on the bottom to do it. So easy, so awesome.

I've been told that a baby Brezza is a necessity these days. The price tag made me twitchy at first, but the new ones apparently heat up too? And can all be done one handed? Pregnant me thinks future, sleep-deprived me is going to need this.
I was also told to get several different 'sampler' packs of bottle brands?
@zuuls_mom I learned the hard way w my first - “penny wise, pound foolish”. I am all about making my life as easy as possible in the first year, especially! Putting these on the reg RIGHT now.
Are we allowed to also talk formula Recs or did I miss that thread in my bump app freeze out ? My plan is to try bf but have my formula game plan ready
My daughter only took the tommee tippee bottles. That was after trying all the other 90 billion types available. So I recommend getting a few different to see what works. Also, if you plan on going the glass bottle route and are going to be going to daycare, verify that your daycare allows it. Most around be do not because of the possibility of them breaking.
I wrote this over the weekend, but forgot to post. Whoops!
Some advice: try a couple sample bottles out before you buy a whole set. I know of babies (my nephew in particular) who literally had to go through something ridiculous like 6 (!!) brands before my sister found one he tolerated.
We used the Avent Natural with DS, I had something like 8 bottles. He used 4x day for a looooong time until we switched to cold cow milk (not in a bottle!) around maybe 14/15 mo.
I still use my Boon grass drying rack and accessories - it is super cute and helps keep stuff organized. We never did a warmer - just micro’d water in a glass measuring cup.
For formula, I suggest going on the Enfamil and Similac websites and signing up for their Mom programs. We never ended up needing it, but they sent us a TON of coupons and free samples.
Oh! For formula, we ended up using what our pediatrician recommended (Enfamil newborn) and it worked well! Definitely try not to stock up though in case they have issues/sensitivities. We also didn't have to buy a ton of formula at first because our pedi gave us so much for free! So definitely make sure you mention you're formula feeding at every appt since they usually have a TON of cans/samples just sitting there.

@cheshyre319 it's pricey but my favorite item ever. its like a keurig but for formula, the water is warm and you press how many ounces you want (2,4,6,8,10) and press go and it makes it for you. easy to do with one hand and so nice its all ready for you. I plan to use it again this time.
As for formula, my 1st needed a sensitive/gentleease because she was a little back-up. I used Earth's Best Sensitive, I used it for my 2nd whether she needed sensitive or not and she did great with it. I plan to do the same thing this time around as well. The first couple of days like in the hospital they have the enfamil premixed ones where you just add the nipple to the top of it. then I will use the sensitive as long as it agrees with him. My kids prefer the sensitive, personal preference for my kiddos I guess.
Re: Product Spotlight 5/31: Bottles and Accessories
I like the Avent bottles, have used them for both my kids and plan to use them again this time around.
One think I did with both of my kids and planning with this one is to stick w glass for the first year.
@satuttle1014 I’ve tried the avent bottles 3 yrs ago - did they leak for you at all? I am thinking of giving them another try!

I am already too sick and exhausted to even thinking about the ordeal (for me) that is bf, so I want to be as prepared as possible this time around.
