Re: TTGP Grad Check-In w/o 5/30
Anyone have an appointment this week? Tue (4th)
Cravings/Symptoms? Egh, really still the same.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? DS finally had a good night sleep so I did as well. I still feel pretty beat. Luckily DH is back in state and should be home in a few hours (depending on Boston traffic....).
And you guys!!! The next time I post here I will KNOW "who" this baby is!!!!
Questions?
GTKY: are you registering for any childbirth, prenatal, breastfeeding or preparation classes/courses? Nope. No classes. We did childbirth for DS and Infant CPR/choking. I feel like we should be all set. We are going to register DS for a sibling class though.
Baby has wrinkly, see-through skin. She's about the size of a burrito! 🌯
How far along are you?
21w4d
Anyone have an appointment this week?
Not me
Cravings/Symptoms?
Craving fresh fruit and grilled summery food like hot dogs and burgers.
I'm feeling pretty good, minus the sore tailbone and pelvic area.
Rants/Raves/Randoms?
This week has been NUTS. Between the short work week, my H traveling, and our area getting pounded with severe weather, I'm just over it. I'm so ready to have a relaxing weekend! I just booked myself a prenatal massage for Sunday and I cannot wait!! 🙌
Questions? LOL I was going to ask if anyone is taking any birthing classes, so good timing!
GTKY: are you registering for any childbirth, prenatal, breastfeeding or preparation classes/courses?
I think so. I haven't booked anything yet, but I'd like to take just a generic birthing class (my hospital calls it "childbirth preparation," and it covers pain management options and recovery for both vaginal and cesarean births) and also a breastfeeding class.
Anyone have an appointment this week? TOMORROW!!! A/S
Cravings/Symptoms? Same as before... craving fruit, and cold things. Experiencing heartburn, and slow leg hair growth (which I am loving now that it's summer).
Rants/Raves/Randoms? DS's bday is tomorrow, his party is Saturday, and my birthday is Sunday. It's a big weekend in our house. I made my own brunch reservation for Sunday so as not to be disappointed by DH's lack of planning ahead.
Questions? I have my 20w sono tomorrow, which is mostly making me excited. *TW* But my June EDD with our loss is coming up and I cannot get that baby out of my mind! (What if, what if, what if...) I know @prpl11butterfly was in the June BMB, anyone else? Do I just have to wait for the date to pass to get over it?
GTKY: are you registering for any childbirth, prenatal, breastfeeding or preparation classes/courses? Nope. Been there, done that.
@galentine ahhh your post had me stopping mid-way to ask MH to grill hot dogs for dinner (yay). Good job on booking a massage, not to keep stealing your style but I'll probably do that too
What's going on this week? Baby's palm was the size of a dime and it's now the size of a Starbucks trenta cup
How far along are you? 21+4
Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope, next Friday though
Cravings/Symptoms? Piggy backing off of Galentine, I have eaten grilled hot dogs 3 times in the last 2 weeks so I believe that qualifies as a craving
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm soo over work. I decided to relax and not even go for bonus because I would rather come in late and leave early (I'm terrible)
Questions? Nada
GTKY: are you registering for any childbirth, prenatal, breastfeeding or preparation classes/courses?
YES, I just mentioned on Randoms, but I've signed us up for Hypnobirthing, infant care/CPR and breastfeeding/pumping classes. I'm glad I did that last week because these Hypnobirthing classes span 5 weeks (who knew). I'm not even sure how helpful it will be since I'm planning on doing this birth fully medicated, but I want to be prepared just in case.
@galentine I totally piggybacked on that idea thread! Have an amazing time at your massage, you deserve it!!
@junebabyh GL with your DS' birthday party!! And happy early bday to you too!!
@marbellie I feel ya on being over working right now. Ready for maternity leave so I don't have to go to work but not ready for the baby yet!!
What's going on this week? Baby's foot is about the size of a water bottle cap. I feel like my bladder might also be the same size right now.
TTC #2: October 2018, BFP 02/02/19, EDD 10/14/19
@junebabyh, good luck at your anatomy scan tomorrow! I hope baby boy cooperates and shows you all the parts that need showing, and either confirms he is a boy, or not! As for your loss EDD, I have no advice since I haven't reached mine yet, but I'm thinking of you and sending you hugs. I'd be happy to light a candle for your angel on your EDD, if that is meaningful to you. ❤❤
@marbellie, high five on the twinning! I feel it is fitting since we share an EDD! We are also having hot dogs for dinner tonight if my H remembers to pick up more buns on his way home 🌭
@junebabyh I had an EDD is Sept and May. The Sept one I wasn't preg. The days leading up to it were actually harder then the day. My May one passed with no thought of it until after the fact. I'm hoping my June one will be much the same. Really I feel like being preg has helped make it easier. I can look now and feel "this is the baby I was meant to have". I hope it passes smoothly for you ❤
@stephanie123456 it will be just DH and myself. They actually don't allow anyone else (well patient +1 adult and honestly, after my bad experience, it's better to not have the kids). The sibling class was great when N did it. They go over different ways baby eats, lots of safety things (if it fits in a toilet paper roll it's too small for baby to play with), explain ways they can help mom out, let them tour Maternity so they feel less nervous visiting, all while eating cookies and playing with a baby doll!
We won't be doing a big reveal. I want to tell the kids before we tell IRL (you guys don't count 😉). I do want to find a special way of telling them but haven't come up with anything yet. It has to be that night because a lot of people know when I'm going in and I don't want to make them wait tooooo long lol.
@stephanie123456 I never heard that wives' tale (about stealing beauty), I quite like that. Sounds like the start of a fairy tale or something. // I registered privately on Amazon and it's not at all done or right yet. Otherwise we'll do Target in a couple of weeks.
@prpl11butterfly maybe the reveal to the kids could be some sort of poem coming from the Baby's point of view that ends with it? I'm just thinking out loud, but I'm sure Google would have some inspiration
Secondly, speaking of my dad, I can hear him singing "When You Wish Upon A Star" to DS1 right now (my parents picked up from daycare today and stayed for dinner and to help with bedtime). My heart is melting listening to him.
Thanks ladies for the encouragement regarding the upcoming EDD. It's June 10th, and since both my boys were 13 days early it occurred to us that we might have had a baby yesterday if things had gone differently. Such a weird feeling. @galentine I love your idea about lighting a candle. What a kind gesture. Thank you.
@prpl11butterfly If you're so inclined to give DS and N ice cream before bed, my sister did a cute revel with her daughter when she found out the sex of her #2 a few months ago. Took her out for ice cream and told her "if I bring you pink ice cream that means you get a sister. If it's green you get a brother." They got it on video, too, so we could all see. Also YAY for finding out in less than a week!
Thanks everyone else for bday wishes. I took tomorrow off work to prep for DS's party and i think I'll take myself for a mani, too.
I also found out yesterday that my best friend's FIL has Huntington's and therefore her husband has a 50/50 chance of having it as well. And if he has it their 3 children may as well. She is feeling so guilty about possibly bringing 3 kids in this world with terminal diseases, especially her son who is just 2.5 weeks old. Her husband can't get in for testing until early July, so it's just a month of tortuous waiting until then...
And slightly less concerning, but I was talking with another good friend today and her son who is a cancer survivor is having random high fevers. Her pediatrician can't find anything and oncology is just shrugging... I'm just hoping it's nothing serious...
Sorry, that was long and so so much... It's just been a really rough couple of days...
Edited for spelling errors
@nnaelilak, I'm sorry for the funk. ❤❤
How far along are you? 22 weeks, 3 days.
Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope, not until next month.
Cravings/Symptoms? I've started producing colostrum, which kind of freaked me out at first because I had no idea what was happening.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I just started another part-time job last week so I'm pretty much working seven days a week right now. I told my husband that I have June 9th off if we want to have a date. I'm just trying to save as much money as possible before the little one arrives.
Questions? When is everyone going to stop going to work? I'm thinking of going until maybe a week before my due date. Not sure yet. I suppose it also depends on how my appointments go.
@galentine Jealous of the massage!
@junebabyh Happy Birthday to you and DS, I hope it’s fun and relaxing!!! Those anniversaries are never easy, I think time helps but the pain never goes away. Take all the time you need to feel whatever you feel. August will mark 2yrs since my first loss I’m dreading it. Dads are amazing, well mine is anyway, my dad is the best grandfather and is so happy his last grand baby is a girl. He’s always had a special connection with his girls.I tear up just thinking about it.
@nnaelilak I’m so sorry for all the hardships around you right now. I don’t have any great words of wisdom, just creepy internet hugs!!
@elle-0409 With DS I had planned to start leave the week before the due date, but with sudden and early induction I ended up working Wednesday and then was induced that weekend. So my two cents if you can afford it start leave 2 weeks early.
What's going on this week? Baby is size of banana and forming taste buds.
How far along are you? 20+ 2
Anyone have an appointment this week? Anatomy scan was Wednesday nothing again until end June
Cravings/Symptoms? Nothing much here, food in general doesn’t sound good. I’m not nauseated or anything just never feeling hungry for anything particular. I guess cereal and milk and peanut butter toast always sounds good. There are more things that sound appalling than appealing. Feeling pretty good overall.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Nothing new same ole same ole. I need a vacation and a massage. DH is leaving Sunday for a work conference, not looking forward to three days with no co part. I have a feeling we will end up at my moms more than usual.
Questions? Nope
GTKY: are you registering for any childbirth, prenatal, breastfeeding or preparation classes/courses?
I don’t think so. Classes aren’t my type of thing. I think the are super beneficial I just don’t get much out of them.

@elle-0409 I will work until I'm in labor (and maybe even longer lol). I was in labor with DS while at work. I wasn't on my usual game but I was there. My BFF went out a week or 2 before her EDD and then went over. Granted she was on her feet all the time and in a lot of pain since she had undiagnosed symphysis pubis dysfunction. She only got 6wks so half her leave was used before baby even arrived.
@kindbytealikat moms for the win! We do dinners at my parents frequently when DH is away.

I didn't know that you could see everyone's posts and finally learned how thanks to that thread. Whenever ladies got called out before I just thought the OG's had fantastic memory (haha)
