I shave every time I get in the shower. I can't stand to have stubble on my legs and I just hate hair in general. I could never go a month without shaving. I would be so itchy and uncomfortable.
Also, this was a hot topic on my March 14 BMB so I'm going to bring it up here and see where everyone falls on this. Peeing in the shower or bathtub is disgusting. It shouldn't be done. Especially in the bathtub. 🤢
haha! I'm a hard no on peeing in the shower, although my kid loves to pee in the bath and I pretty much just pretend I don't notice.
I also shave every day but only my underarms. No problem letting my legs get stubby, but the underarms really bug me for some reason.
My UO is I hate big over the top kids birthdays parties for little kids (like 4 and under). I've been to a few for 1 year olds that were huge, 75 people, catered, balloons, etc. I guess its fine if you have the money for stuff like that but I hate going and try to make up any excuse not to go.
As for over the top parties, I agree. Going that far with it is too much. Its stressful too. I usually focus on decorating 1 table and the focal point is the cake. Then we have balloons to make it look like it's all big and grand! I do decorate the high chair for first birthdays because I want the cake smash pictures to look adorable!
@creamcheeseplease I’m with you on the birthdays, especially when it’s all adults. I feel like kid birthdays should be for kids, so that’s all we invited for my son’s first birthday and my husband’s aunts (6 of them, all in their 60s and 70s, and overall grouchy people) all got pissy about not being invited 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t get it.
My UO is I hate when people complain about their spouses and children. A quick vent, sure, but constant complaining is the worst. My sil is the biggest offender and I just can’t stand it. She’s constantly rolling her eyes at her 8 year old, yelling at her 1 year old, being outwardly frustrated with her newborn, and calling her husband weird. It’s gone in since she had her daughter so it’s nothing new. Like, you chose these people, they are yours, find a way to enjoy them or your life is going to be miggghty miserable. Family that you didn’t “choose,” complain away!
I pee in the shower, but always before I wash. And never in the bath 🤢 who does that?!
I also hate shaving my legs and do it rarely. Like maybe once every other week. My hair is blonde and I truly just dont care that much unless I'm wearing a dress or going to a function. Apparently this is an UO here I see😂
I pee in the shower too 🙊 but never in the bath that's nasty. I used to be obsessive about shaving but now it's only a few times a week. I hate hair too and I have shaved my arms since HS, I'm not sure if that's weird but I don't think there's any way I could stop now lol
@creamcheeseplease I'm with you on the parties. I felt so pressured by my sister to have a big 1st birthday for my son and I so regret it. It was such a big expense and it was silly..he couldn't even walk and was zipping around the hall in his walker the whole time. Never again!
I can't think of an UO right now but on the topic of showering, my husband and I shower together every night. A few years back we started to do this to spend more time together because our schedules were kind of crazy. To be honest it's been one of the best decisions we've made for our relationship, lol. Of course if I want to have an alone shower I will. We don't do any funny business either because shower sex sucks maybe that's an UO 😂
@ABabyMarshall shower sex is downright dangerous as an adult 😂. We had to swear it off last time we tried and ended up in a predicament. It was great when we were young and in college, but those days (and my flexibility apparently) are long gone! I’m team shower together too, annnd my son joins most of the time because he can’t be left out of anything these days. Plus, it’s way easier than giving him a tub.
I think shower sex is awesome for the efficiency. Especially when Im not super in the mood. Get it done, clean up is already happening, and now we can get back to snuggling on the couch.
I hate when my legs are prickly. They itch and I cant sleep. I have been known to get up from bed and take a bath to shave.
Our hot water usually goes out before we finish shower sex, and I always get cold. Our shower is kind of tiny too so it isn't that comfortable. That being said we often do it when we're staying in a hotel, haha.
I'm not crazy about getting down in the shower...unless it's a legit steam shower and I don't get all cold. MH and I actually don't like to shower together b/c we're so particular and always feel like someone is hogging the water lol. We have liked those 2 person showers when we stay at hotels though. Something to strive for!
Also I HATE, HAAAATE shaving my legs, but try to do it at least once a week when it's dress/shorts weather.
I don't shave everyday but if I am uncomfortable at night because my legs are prickly then I am one who will shower at midnight to feel better.
Peeing in the shower is not my style. I just don't understand because I go to the bathroom before showering so it isn't even a need but knowing my husband probably does it doesn't bother me. Just as long as he doesnt do it if we are showering together. haha
That being said shower sex for us was always uncomfortable but we haven't done it since the no-condom era that was all young 20s craziness. Water and rubber not friends.
My UO is that I don't like people helping with my laundry. My own clothes in particular. Do the dishes, vacuum, sweep but please don't fold my underwear.
Oh god, we had the peeing in the shower convo in one of my mom groups and I have never side-eyed people I thought I knew so hard in my life! 😂 NO PEE IN THE SHOWER!! Oh grody to the max! Like, not on purpose. If I’m super pregnant and the urge hits I’ll drag my wet naked ass to the toilet and then get back in, but I always pee beforehand.
I don’t get huge baby parties either. We have a big family, so we invite the people we’re closest to and then make all the food ourselves. We go crazy cooking and baking, but it’s so cheaper and much more fun. And then the girls can pick whatever kind of party we want and I get decorations.
I’ll try to think of an UO, all the pee talk has me running to the bathroom now. 😂
I shave probably ever other shower, and I'm kinda dreading that point where my belly gets in the way of that. Not sure I'll be able to get MH to do the dirty work for me.
Also dreading having to plan and throw kids bday partys. I'm the worst planner, I never did anything for my birthdays growing up. I'm hoping that dinner with family and close friends will be sufficient until he's old enough to be more involved in planning what he wants to do for birthdays.
U/O umm. I hate avocados. Living in California, admitting that is damn near a sin. But I just found them disgusting. Mushy and blah.
Evidently my UO is that I love big birthday parties 😅 Event planning is part of my job so I guess that makes sense. My son’s first birthday was a big rainbow baby bash and we had a Moana/Luau party for his second. I plan most birthday/anniversary parties for my family too.
@ABabyMarshall I shave my arms too. I started in my early 20's and could never stop at this point. Although, I don't get prickly hairs on my arms so it wouldn't be a big deal to miss a day or two.
I don't care for shower sex. Maybe it's because we haven't had a spacious enough shower. Our new house has a very spacious shower with 2 shower heads so it may be an option.
@Dancer688 I hate for people to fold my laundry. Don't change my sheets either. Nope, nope, nope!
DS2 was born in November and I'm excited about doing a joint bday bash for him and this baby.
My UO: along the same lines as big birthday parties. I dont like all the tons of parties people have in general. Like for pregnancy. I cant stand the gender reveal parties. Or the 15 baby showers and baby sprinkles.
@gumby22c I always used to take cooler showers than MH, and it burned if I got in the shower after him. Then I changed jobs from cashier to manufacturing plant laborer, and OMG I now understand how he can have the water so hot. My achy muscles appreciate the heat.
@purplefan1 yea I dont understand gender reveals either. And wtf is a sprinkle??
I'm anti gender reveal personally. I dont need a party specifically to share the sex of my baby.
@angieeeeee a sprinkle is typically a baby shower thrown for a STM+ mom. Some of people look down on it as gift grabby because they assume shes already got everything she needs because shes and kids before. But stuff like diapers, wipes, ect are always needed, so its sorta like a smaller version of a baby shower.
I'm ok with sprinkles, as long as you don't throw your own! Even though we have most baby gear from our son, I know my friends want to throw me a sprinkle. I dont expect anything nor do I have a registry to share. But I think every baby should be celebrated and a sprinkle is a just a party for that in my mind.
Throwing your own shower is very side eye worthy. And just Yuck!
I have had a shower for almost all my babies. I have never expected a shower after my first. My second baby was 12 years after my first so it was like starting over. Then with my other shower, it was a sprinkle that my mom group insisted on throwing for me. It was after the baby was born and it gave everyone the opportunity to see her and hold her.
The gender-reveals are not my thing but I get sprinkles and showers as long as the mom isn't throwing it. Other people wanting to do nice things or celebrate is always appreciated and fun.
I had a shared sprinkle/shower with my 2nd that our other mom friends threw for us since we were due within a month of each other. It was a cute baby playdate with balloons and cake. All the toddlers loved it haha
Ok. Peeing in the shower, I see as totally acceptable. We use to always shower together, but now we only have a bathtub. We've shared a bath occasionally but mostly I'm disgusted by sitting in his filth, so it would have to be like a weekend bath when he didn't have work or something.
I've personally never been to a child's birthday party that I would consider over the top. Around here it's just family, friends, and sometimes food. My sister use to go pretty hard on the decorations but they were all homemade so it wasn't like she was spending too much or anything. I can't imagine a catered birthday party 😆
On that note, my UO is I HATE weddings. All weddings. Big. Small. Indoor. Outdoor. HATE THEM ALL. The church part is fine, if you're in to that kind of thing I get it and I can respect that. I just find wedding receptions completely obnoxious and awkward. I hate dancing. I don't drink. I don't like to be around drunk people. I don't like big crowds. I hate feeling like I'm part of a captive audience when I'm just trying to eat a meal in peace, you know? Choreographed dances, speeches, having to watch a couple kiss over and over 🤮
I love weddings too! They are so special big or small.
But @ChelK3 I had a non traditional wedding and I daresay you would have liked it! Rented a house that could sleep our twelve guests total, got married under a tree in the backyard and then we all kind of chilled. There were hammocks, a hot tub, a fire pit, horseshoes. We had a catered sit down dinner but other than that I didn't hold anyone to any kind of schedule of eating/dancing/drinking. I think I was in bed by 11:30 while everyone else partied. 🙈 Best of all, as far as weddings go we did it on the cheap.
@ABabyMarshall that sounds lovely and my idea of a perfect wedding!! We had a small wedding with only immediate family and a couple of friends each (30 people total). The reception was laid back and we were out of there and on the road by like 7pm. Thankfully we had planned it to not be a big thing because my husbands family all got the stomach bug and my poor husband had it the day of the wedding. Then my side of the family ended up with it afterwards (throwing up the entire way to Gatlinburg succckkkked). Had we planned a big shindig we would have probably gone down notoriously as the norovirus wedding!
Ugh the sicknesses sounds like a nightmare! What a mess ☹️ but 🙌 for small weddings and doing it your way. We had been together 7 years at that point and we had been teetering the line of "why rush?" and "why wait?" for years and we decided just eff it and planned it in less than two months and did it the way we wanted!
The following year my sister had a tremendous decadent wedding that suited her and her hubby..there's no wrong way!
To me the great thing about weddings is that it is one of the few times in your life that you get to gather everyone you love in one place. You don't really get to do that many times while you are alive and sometimes it is the only time. That, to me, was the real gift if a wedding.
