Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Monday 5/27

WAYDTGKU: BBT and OPK, prenatal vitamins, folic acid

R/R: A holiday on the Monday before the last day of school? I’ll take it! Family time yesterday was great, it was nice to see everyone (the last time we had my family all together like that it was right after my MC, so everyone was super awkward and sad around me). Golfing today again with MH and my FIL.

In other news, I forgot to mention I got my teaching contract for next year on Friday! It was so exciting I danced in the hallways! I haven’t gotten to sign a contract in May since 2014, so this was a nice change of pace! (My employment situation has been rough since I moved back to Ohio from Arizona. I just landed my first permanent teaching position this past year, so that’s why MH and I decided we were ready to have kids).

CS/Q: Still convinced that I O’d CD 23, but still no CH because my temps are wonky. I showed my chart to my mom yesterday and she said it’s exactly how her temps were AL. So here’s to hoping AF comes soon and we can get back to some regularity. At least FF is finally acknowledging that I’m probably not in my FW anymore. 😂🤣

@ejoseph16 sorry your temps are wonky but I think it’s so cool your mom also charted! And it’s great you can talk to her about it. I’m pretty sure my mom never charted but I guess I’ll never know since we never talked about that stuff.

  • @ejoseph16 Congrats on your contract! And I agree w/ Vari about, it's super cool your mom "gets" your chart and can help you to look at it. I have tried to share excitement over my chart w/ ppl &, really, the only person who was like "oh that's cool!" is one of my friends (a dude, even) whose mom charted his whole life--and like, taught volunteer "rhythm method" classes back in the day! I explained that it's FAM now bc rhythm method was based on a 28 day cycle and has a bad rep now, but it was still cool to talk to him about it.

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: SMEP, PNV, FF, BBT, CM, OPK, Coq10, VitD, VitC, RLT, GFJ

R/R: Finally pulled a lighter line on an OPK, so thinking, as per my usu. time of day pattern each month (though the latest CD I've had since Dec.), I'll pull an even one tonight & a blazing one in the AM. Super glad FF now lets you record day/night & that despite some initial SMEP missteps, we should be fine following the plan just 2 days late. The tarot called I pulled today, The Tower, is one of "sudden change, release, revelation" and I am like "...release of my egg from my follicle? revelation that I am about to ovulate?"

CS/Q: I took my temperature in my armpit like 10 mins after I took it earlier to make sure my BBT wasn't busted since I am getting so many of the same EXACT temp, but it was different (lower, if you are interested) in the armpit, sooooo... TCOYF says as long as you take yr temp w/in a range of about an hour, it should be fine, so not sure what these open circles are all about, as every temp has been w/in the 6 o'clock hour.

WAYDTGKU: pre Natals, opk, body awareness, and diet

R/R: so happy to have this Monday off of work! 2 weeks left in the school year, and I need it!

  • @kagesstarshroom The open circles on FF drive me nuts! Im not a machine! Sometimes I get up 15 minutes late, okay?! Usually I just adjust my times to make them solid circles if I know it was an insignificant difference.

@ejoseph16 Enjoy your last week of school! Any fun summer plans?

@kmornelas29 Have a fun day off! I'm loving this 3 day weekend too.

    Month/Cycle: 4/5

R/R: I've fallen down a fertility over- analysis rabbit hole this weekend. Watched "The Great Sperm Race", which didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know, but somehow managed to put me in a panic about how effing hard it is to get KU. (It's a really good video, actually. I'm just not in a good place.) Since then I've been reading stats about pregnancy after 35 (again,  nothing new) and thinking of all the things that might be making this harder.

I have a dance recital next weekend (ballet), and today is our last practice before dress rehearsal. I'm finally feeling good about it, so hopefully that goes well.

CS/Q: One of the things I'm over-analyzing is my temperature range. I always have a good shift in temp, but my numbers seem really high compared to everyone else. Am I frying my eggs??? My follicular phase is usually between 97.7-98.0 and my luteal is usually 98.2-98.9.

  • *lurking from TWW*

@shoogapoff your temps are the EXACT range as mine! **TW, prior pregnancy**

My temps were this range when I got pregnant with DS, so no egg frying. It's probably just your normal! I temp vaginally if that matters.

  • @varimama my mom is my best friend, I talk to her about everything. She had a MC with her first PG, so we are closer than ever now. She temped and all that, so we talk about it now that she knows we are TTC (we didn’t tell family we were trying in January, we wanted it to be a surprise when we got pregnant.). It has opened up some pretty cool but sometimes awkward conversation.

@kagesstarshroom the open circles bug me! I hate that it does that sometimes.

@kmornelas29 two weeks! You got this! What do you teach?

@shoogapoff no summer plans, yet. I’m working with a friend on putting together a girls trip... I need it after this school year. So bad. It’s husband approved, so I’m going for it. Ideas for a destination? and with the temps... I always feel so low! Lol I get down to 96 and I’m like that can’t be right!
  • @shoogapoff I read a study recently about temps and how xyz pre-o & xyz post-o temps have a better chance of successful to-term pgs--and then promptly forgot most of the numbers after worrying over my past & present charts & what the study says bc who needs that sort of stress in their life! sigh. Anyway, my point is: I get you on the over-analyzing!
  • @ejoseph16 A girls trip sounds great! What part of the country are you in/wanting to go to? I'm in the South, so all of my trip suggestions will pretty much be in that area. I'm partial to NOLA, personally. If you can/want to drink,  Texas wine country is really fun too, and I have lots of tips for that.
  • @shoogapoff send those Texas wine country reccoemndafions my way! I’m new to Dallas and looking for new places to explore

@ejoseph16 I travel a lot for work! Any specific parts of the country? Spent this weekend in Austin and I loved it! Other good girl trip cities are Napa, Seattle, Chicago, Asheville, Savannah!

    Month/Cycle: 1/4

    CD: 4

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPK, PNV

R/R: i’m still here, but can definitely see how it’s stressful. It’s really easy to be thinking ahead for all future events/weddings and thinking “oh what if I’m x months pregnant then” and fall down a rabbit hole

    CS/Q: nothing exciting yet

  • @ejoseph16 - congrats on your contract! So glad you can confide in your mom about TTGP/temping and all of it! For your girls trip I vote Southern CA because I wish I could go there! Or Maine (full disclosure: I live there and it's amazing in the summer, especially Portland for eating/drinking activities.) Also would second Asheville and Savannah - haven't been to either but they sound fun!

@shoogapoff - I'm sure that video would put me into a panic too even though I know the facts already! Ugghh!

    Month/Cycle: 10/10

    CD: 1

WAYDTGKU: prenatals, opk's, evening primrose oil, Ovia app, preseed

R/R: Day 1 is not as rough emotionally as it was last month for some reason, maybe just the nice weather or something. But this month is going to be challenging logistically b/c I'm pretty sure we'll be away with my extended family when I hopefully O/during FW.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @shoogapoff @zaslawlz @whitealbum29 all great suggestions! We are looking for warm and relaxing. We are going into our second year at our school and both had a highly stressful year. So we want to just go somewhere and relax. Not looking to drink (obvious reasons on my part) but definitely adventure and not think about school. Last summer my husband and I went to Portland, Oregon to visit a friend and I loved it! I’ve been to Southern California... Chicago... savannah would be new though, as would Texas. Definitely interested!
  • @zaslawlz Fredericksburg is a few hours from Dallas, and it's great for wineries. There's a hop on, hop off bus you can get tickets for and it runs all day long, taking you to all of the wineries along one strip of highway. They'll store any wine/souvenirs you buy along the way. DH and I stayed in a nice b&b when we went, but AirBnB is definitely a good option, especially for groups. I know there are other closer wineries to Dallas, but I haven't been to them.
  • @ejoseph16 I second Austin as a great Texas option. Lots of fun shops and things to see.
  • @whitealbum29 Sorry for CD 1 =/ It's definitely been an interesting journey to me in terms of which busted cycles are bigger bummers than others! I feel like that would make an interesting graph. Like, graphing the answer to the question, "on a scale of one to ten, how sad at you that this cycle was a bust?" lol. ::seriously considers making that graph & then decides against it.::
  • @ejoseph16 I’m a kindergarten teacher! I love my job, but NEED the break. What do you do?

  • @kmornelas29 I teach 3rd grade reading and social studies. We had a rough group this year and apparently the incoming third graders are worse, so summer relaxation is going to be a must! I taught kindergarten for 2 years... never again! Lol. Herding cats!
