How are you feeling?: not too bad for being this far along just a little leg pain
Rants/Raves: recurved my first massage every for a bachelorette party and I need one every week now soooo relaxing
Questions:
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? My husband works retail so unfortunately we can’t do anything. If I wasn’t pregnant I would totally go to the race & carb day with friends because I’ve never been and I live 15 minutes away from the track. But nope, staying home 🤣
How are you feeling?: More tired and getting tired of these Braxton Hicks nearly every time I pee😫 Just feel big all of a sudden too!
Rants/Raves: Two rants this week:
#1 Our local family owned grocery store that has been in operation for 103 years, just announced they are selling to Giant😢 A lot of people in my little community are upset including my nephew and his girlfriend who work there.
#2 My ob/gyn has many dr's and midwives on their practice, so I don't always see the same one. Today it was a creepy old guy who looked like he never gets outside-white as a ghost. He talked extremely fast and quiet, so it was hard to understand. He also asked if we're thinking about baby #4 yet😯 Whoah buddy! One at a time please! I was going to go over my birth plan today, but decided to hightail it out of there right away lol!!
Questions: Ok, so I know this can be a touchy subject, but circumcision-yay or nay?
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Yes! For the last 6 years we have gone to the mountains (Potter County, PA) with my husband's family. We leave Thurs and come home Mon. The guys fish most of the time, but it's always a lot of fun. My husband's brother and his wife live several hours away in WV, so it will be nice to see them again and for our girls to play with their cousins.
Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow. Regular check up, then move to every 2 weeks
How are you feeling?: feeling BH more often these days, and if I don’t sleep with a pillow in between my legs, my hip pain gets bad. Overall can’t complain too much though, for being in the home stretch
Rants/Raves: the heat is already unbearable. Mid to upper 90s all week, with the feels like temps into the 100s this weekend. Bought a kiddie pool for the boys today, and I will be hanging out in there with them this summer!
Questions: nope
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? We’re headed to Orlando to go camping this weekend! We go with a big group of family and friends. Sad I can’t drink this year, but it’s always such a fun time!
How are you feeling?: Honestly. Miserable. So tired, sore, and huge.
Rants/Raves: I feel so much better now that we've gotten most of the guestroom/nursery taken care of. Rant-I'm just tired of being tired and sore.
Questions: Na.
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Na
@kingdommom Yay for me. H and all my other boys are and we had a close family friend that had to go through the surgery later in life because of adhesion issues and it was terrible to see him go through that. Recovery is so much quicker and easy when they are tiny. But, HUGE BUT, it's definitely a personal decision that I would highly suggest talking to your pediatrician to hear their opinions and pros and cons of it if you are even a little bit unsure.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@nopegoat thank you! We had decided we were going to circumcise (my husband is too) but I still felt a little unsure. Then I was reading a bunch of stuff today about complications and that it's easy to care for intact, etc. I know, I know, I shouldn't be looking at the horror stories😬 I asked our pediatrician when I was pregnant with our second (we hadn't found out her gender) and she seemed to think it really wasn't necessary. We probably will, just thought I'd see what other's experiences have been!
@kingdommom we did for both of our boys. H is as well. With my first I honestly just thought it was a no brainer, first baby, didn’t know a whole lot, and H is, so I just assumed why wouldn’t we. With my second I did a lot more research into it because I realized it wasn’t as common as I thought and wanted to see the other side of it. We actually asked my BIL about it, because he is not, and for a few different reasons, he told us if he ever had a son he would circumcise. That along with our own personal discussions led us to also circumcise my second.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 33 weeks as of Wednesday
Baby is the size of a(n): naked-tailed armadillo
Team: PINK
Upcoming Appointments: FRI 5/31 Standard OB visit
How are you feeling?: large + uncomfortable, everything is getting a little tougher. BH like crazy!
Rants/Raves: Rants, I’m tired!! Rave, having ourselves a beach day tomorrow (technically river/bay front because it’s closer than VA beach)... my happy place
Questions: what’s left on everyone’s to do list? I need to clean out my car to add the infant seat.
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans?
Not yet but hubby is off Saturday which is a freaking miracle! Planning on trying to have a little fun regardless
How are you feeling?: Large. Belly and everywhere else.
Rants/Raves: I feel guilty for getting upset about body image issues. I’m usually very fit and active but the weight gain and changes have been very very difficult. I know it is part of the process and luckily I have had an amazingly easy pregnancy- I just can’t get out of my own head about image
Questions: We don’t know if we are having a boy or a girl. If we have a boy does anyone suggest a moil as opposed to circumcision in the hospital? We are not Jewish but are considering this as an option. Any feedback, pros, or cons?
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Boat shopping!
Upcoming Appointments: Acupuncture tomorrow, group next week
How are you feeling?: Eh, ok? I think the acupuncture is helping the back pain and the carb redux is helping the swelling and my overall mood. Rants/Raves: Had a really lovely weekend - a good mix of productive and relaxing. Although we have so much left to do baby wise and Kevin is out of town the next two weekends and then it's babymoon weekend. sheesh.
Questions: On the circumcision front I don't think we will if baby is a boy? But I'm also not 100% sure, I know you can find horror stories from both sides. Husband is cirucumscised, but thinks he'd rather not, so I'll probably take his lead on this one.
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Nothing crazy, Kevin's out of town the whole weekend so I'll be on solo daughter duty - need to plan some playdates and fun outings for us for sure.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 12 / 32W
Baby is the size of a(n): honeydew melon
Team: blue
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for 32W. Another growth ultrasound in 2 weeks (24th percentile now!)
How are you feeling?: nausea is back again. Working from home as often as I can just because being at my desk is miserable. Anyone else? Still on prescription nausea meds 2x a day ugh
Rants/Raves: rant - nausea
Questions: for those asking about circumcision with a mohel or hospital - my husband had a bris with a mohel and my MOH would never do it again - lots of blood and a loooot to handle in front of family and friends. She says hospital 100%. Obviously up to you, just what I’ve heard!
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Going to the Indy 500! Hoping it won’t be too hot or too rainy! Other than that just relaxing
@kingdommom as a nurse I hate having to care for an uncircumcised penis! Seriously they are usually harder to keep clean and if you don't retract and then replace the foreskin properly it can lead to issues. As a guy, they have more sensation with uncircumcised. We chose to circumsize our son and had zero issues at all. Just maybe research the different techniques used if you do decide to circumsize and find a pediatrician at your hospital who does it that way. Babies recover fast and the nurses do an excellent job calming the babies so it's probably not more traumatic than having just been pushed through a tiny hole .
@nolemomma14 yes a pillow between the legs is a serious must! I can't walk the next day without it! And I have no idea how you are surviving that kind of heat, I'm dying in 70 degree weather!
@mamahmh2 I don't even want to think about my to do list, even with it being #2 I feel like there is an overwhelming amount to do still and such a short time. Summer just goes by so fast. Just seems like baby still needs a lot of things and I'm probably more worried about spending money than actually having things to do. HBU?
Upcoming Appointments: doing the 24h urine thing today, so have to take that in and get labs tomorrow and will probably get TDAP tomorrow too (my office doesn't do it) to get the needle sticks consolidated, nothing else til next week.
How are you feeling?: sick. DH brought home an epic head cold from the living petri dishes (children) he works with. Flying sick and pregnant was a whole new level of hell. My left ear didn't unplug until sometime overnight and the right still hasn't 20h later.
Rants/Raves: LO doing the "barely move to the point I freak out a little" thing one day and the throw a gymnastics meet in my uterus the next day is tiring, because the first one is tiring from the anxiety and the second is tiring cuz it's uncomfortable.
Questions: Not really.
@kingdommom Yay, if it's a boy. DH broached the topic one day and we agreed, so it was pretty easy.
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Hopefully I'm unsick. DH somehow pulled the 4-day weekend (he'll have to work an overnight Thursday, so him being awake/functional for Friday is 50/50). Probably do some house/baby prep stuff and find something fun to do otherwise. Probably no big/traditional "Memorial Day-y" stuff...
How are you feeling?: Ok. Generally uncomfortable. She's started punching me in the cervix on occasion and that doesn't feel great 🙄
Rants/Raves: I got stuck with a dirty needle at work on Sunday from a higher than average risk patient. Which lead to ~2 hours of anxiously waiting to find out the patient's HIV and hepatitis status and worrying about the baby. Luckily, everything came back negative on the source patient 🖤🖤
Questions:
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Yes - big family weekend to celebrate my grandparents' 80th birthdays. Whole family (60ish people) together for the long weekend! Should be fun!! (And hot!)
@mamahmh2 Where do you go to the beach/river/bay? I'm in Virginia too. We used to basically live in the Rappahannock in the summers.
Upcoming Appointments: Group appointment tomorrow, then they're moving up to every two weeks!
How are you feeling?: I feel obnoxious saying this but still really good. Having some minor pelvic pain/back pain but nothing totally unbearable so far. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop since I know I won't still be feeling this good as we get closer to the end
Rants/Raves: I had a minor freak out last week since we had our first shower and so much baby stuff with no where to put it. My office is turning into the nursery and I had been procrastinating moving out the office stuff and buying the bins/dresser/etc. that we needed. I got into gear and moved all office stuff (minus my desk), bought ALL the organization things, and now it feels like we have a real nursery! All that's left to do is some final decor and swapping out my desk for the crib closer to her due date (DH and I will be sharing an office post-baby and I'm putting that off as long as humanly possible )
Questions:
GTKY: We're going to take the trip out to this restaurant https://sugarpinedrivein.com/ because DH has been wanting to try it (and who am I to say no to soft serve ). We'll also probably have friends over for a BBQ or seafood boil at some point.
@acgx Wow! That’s scary- glad all came back negative. My plain old shortness of breath is making me anxious- can’t imagine how nerve wracking that wait was.
@bartonolivia What’s race and carb day? Horses or people? I suppose it’s not people eating lots of carbs, watching horses race...😂
@greeneyedgirl12 Holy crap to flying while sick and pregnant!! DH wanted to plan a last-minute babymoon for this weekend...but since I can’t breathe or walk...it’s OUT! Not capable of navigating a trip right now. Even a lazy one. Sigh.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 15 Having a nameless boy!
How are you feeling?: Total exhaustion, even my mornings now. Taking a sick day right now...plotting my maternity leave plan because I don’t see this getting easier. Could be my age. Or that I dont take well to shortness of breath...
Rants/Raves: I hate American maternity leave policies. I feel guilty for being in my body, doing what it’s doing pretty normally, and that’s bullshit. I’m mad at my job and haven’t even had a bad conversation about leave yet...just anticipating my boss’s disappointment and company eventually just not giving a shit and making more impossible deadlines when I return.
Questions: I have questions for 35+ moms, so I’ll see about starting a thread...
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans?Sleep! Ordering in food...Trying to keep my mental state together, because Im ready to have my body back in a few months! (I’m so ranty today! 🤣🤬😖)
@expatmom39 Yeah, it was pretty effing miserable between the two factors. My doc doesn't cut me off until 36w, but I am done, between DH's work schedule and plans we already have. I told DH he owes me a trip, because this sickness is 100% his fault...
@nolemomma14 I'm just waiting/dreading for the heat to hit for good. It's BEAUTIFUL today, but I live in the area that was getting all the crazy storms/tornadoes/etc. yesterday, so it came at a cost. We had a little water in our garage and that's it, thankfully, but I have friends who couldn't work today due to flooding at/around their homes/businesses.
@mamahmh2 We have a bunch, because DH's work is kindly throwing us a shower so we still haven't bought some of the stuff we desperately/unequivocally need until after that. We don't have a BuyBuyBaby here, so we'll have to go ~2h to get it done. Hoping going the week of 6/20 isn't tempting fate too much... We also need to finish the nursery. And by finish, I mean do most of. Ugh. We have a crib, but no mattress...
How are you feeling?: swollen feet, hot (has been 90) with no AC, sciatica/glute pain is ridiculous, exhausted. I didn't have any of this with my first so I am over it! Lol
Been going to chiropractor for pain and dry needle finally made some relief. Probably do acupuncture next week!
Rants/Raves: My son (3.5) is so excited to meet his little sister!
Questions: Who is starting their leave from work before their due date? Is anyone else so frustrated by their company's leave policy?
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? My house is a mess right now as we are doing some small remodels. I will be spending the weekend purging, organizing and cleaning (as much as my back pain will allow!).
@Niesen27 I feel you on that! I just finished nursery prep but still feel like I am behind. Especially getting the car ready. (Cars with toddlers are ALWAYS gross...) I definitely feel like this summer is going to FLY.
@acgx ewwww, sorry to hear about the needle scare! That had to be an awful waiting game. Glad everything is OK. We go to Yorktown! We are in Richmond so it’s only 45mins-1hr away via 60 or 64 and it’s soooo nice and pretty down there. Parking deck and clean bathrooms are a must with a toddler! We like the Rappahannock too but I find the York river to be less muddy/cleaner water.
@greeneyedgirl12 how nice of them! When is the shower? We still have time and you’d be surprised with what little stuff you can get away with at first. Also, does BBB have free shipping? Even a small shipping fee might be better than a 2 hour drive for the rest of the stuff you need I find people always get a ton of clothes and not the boring necessities at showers.
Upcoming Appointments: had one yesterday, so in 2 weeks
How are you feeling?: feeling like a beached whale some days. Overall fine since I just sleep on my back no problem.
Rants/Raves: you guys are probably tired of me complaining about babysitting but I really do hate it. It's so exhausting and I can't even clean up after him so my house is a mess. I think I'm going to brib dd with a few bucks to clean it up for me.
Questions: none
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? Signing up for the summer reading program with dd and my family side normal Sunday dinner.
@kingdommomwe decided to do it. I pretty much left that decision up to dh. @mamahmh2 I feel like we still have a lot on our to do list. We still need bedding, we have no decor, need a rocker, to clean out the car and put the car seat in, get our bags ready. We need to shop for a lot of stuff.
How are you feeling?: blah. Everything is starting to hurt
Rants/Raves: My big hometown baby shower trip is behind me, hallelujah. It was much harder physically than I thought it would be and I am so glad to be home where I can rest. It was fun to see everyone though, and we got some really cute stuff.
Questions: I just asked this in the 3rd tri symptoms, but has anyone else had belly skin pain? Mine is always in the same spot to the right of my belly button and happens every day by afternoon. It's very painful and nothing seems to help but lying down. My sister thinks it's my skin stretching.
@quinniebear I do get some stretch pains around my bellybutton, I think when LO has some part of himself propped up against it. Based on the last few ultrasounds, his butt also sticks out on my right side, which he actively pushes out sometimes. So, I don’t get the pain everyday, but def more likely after one of his crazy butt-sticking-out sessions. I moisturize my whole belly with EarthMama Belly Butter, and put extra around my bellybutton. Have had itchy skin despite that. But there’s some peace of mind to it. I also think that having worked out my abs regularly before pregnancy made the stretching, from the first tri onward, even more painful. I employ lots of tricks to not over-engage my abs...I even squat before sneezing or coughing! Whatever it takes to not strain the ab muscles...the bellybutton is at their mercy...
We've gotten the nursery pretty much ready but that's because it's our guestroom too and we wanted it to have it ready before we have people visit. And this being boy #5 we don't really have to get any clothes or anything.
However we do have to do some carseat shopping. We'll have 3 in a row in the back and I really need to make sure the seats we have fit since 1 possibly 2 soon will be in high back boosters and need to be able to buckle and unbuckle easily. Probably be ordering one possibly 2 more big kid seats. We also need to get a new infant seat since our last one was in our shop that flooded during hurricane Harvey.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@acgx I did as well! We really like the area. We used to live downtown when we were young and hip but since having kids we've moved back out to a suburb I grew up in. Let me know if you have any good RVA places you like to visit! Always looking for new spots!

Team: boy
Upcoming Appointments: next week
GTKY: Any Memorial Day weekend plans? SLEEP.
I employ lots of tricks to
not over-engage my abs...I even squat before sneezing or coughing! Whatever it takes to not strain the ab muscles...the bellybutton is at their mercy...
We also need to get a new infant seat since our last one was in our shop that flooded during hurricane Harvey.

sure the hand-me-downs!
