Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a paper towel tube
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): pink
Upcoming Appointments: check-up 5/21
How are you feeling?: REFLUX. Almost threw up last night because it was so bad, and woke up in the middle of the night with a stomachache. Of course, today is the day they have a taco truck at work. I'm gonna enjoy my chips and guac with a side of Tums.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: DH and I went out on Saturday with a coworker and her husband--partly because the husband wanted to buy some sports equipment from DH, partly because, as DH put it, his coworker was "super excited to meet me." DH kept talking up how we'd really hit it off and how she can't wait to finally meet me...and she barely said two words to me all night. Neither did her husband, who spent the whole night talking about himself to DH. DH could tell I wasn't happy but kept trying to convince me we should hang out with them again. Why would I take time out of my day to spend time with a couple that makes me feel invisible?
Rave: I bought the fabric to make the curtains for baby's room! DH came with me and wouldn't stop marveling at all of the prints, decorative buttons, etc. I had to stop a few times because he got distracted. He said it was similar to walking through the tool section in Home Depot--"so much cool stuff!"
Questions: *burp* nope.
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? I love holidays--"any excuse to celebrate," as I put it. I've always loved Thanksgiving because it's like a less-stressful version of Christmas. You still see your whole family, enjoy some traditions, and have a great meal, but no one is on edge about somebody "ruining their Thanksgiving" like they are on Christmas, and people don't get as touchy if you can't make it out to see them. But Christmas has grown on me more now that I've been spending it with DH's family instead of my parents, and I think I'm going to love it even more now that we'll have a LO. I'm so excited to watch her see Christmas lights for the first time
Upcoming Appointments: Started pelvic floor physio today and will keep going as a form of delivery prep until baby comes. It was great! I definitely suffer from a weak pelvic floor and I am hopeful to have a better delivery and recovery this time around. I will keep going after to gain strength.
I have my next OB appointment May 23rd.
How are you feeling?: Not bad! Started taking iron supplements and it has helped with my energy. Still by the end of the day I am sore, swelling and need to put feet up.
Rants/Raves: Baby is currently hiccupping in my belly and I am just cherishing these moments.
Questions:
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? I do like holidays, mostly I just enjoy spending time as a family and eating some good food is always nice! I am not into the mass consumerism of some holidays but try to make it special in other ways too.
How are you feeling?: Sleepy. I was in a wedding on Saturday, so I think I'm still tired from the long weekend.
Rants/Raves: DH made my first "unofficial: Mother's Day really special with some Starbucks in bed and this little patio chair set I had my eye on.
Questions: If the Dr. says you're measuring big, is that actually indicative of labor date or anything? She said I'm measuring at 30 last week and I didn't know if that was telling or anything.
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? Yes I am, I'm super seasonal and holiday-y. Looking forward to holidays with a little one too. It's starting to become 4th of July. That's DH's favorite. His family will all go to his aunt/uncle's lake house and camp for a long weekend so it's like a family reunion each year and is awesome. I don't get to see my side for the 4th anymore, but mine are local so we see them more often.
Upcoming Appointments: 4D ultrasound on Wednesday, excited to see all her little features! (hope she has my nose LOL!)
How are you feeling?: My ankles started swelling yesterday, and my feet hurt today. Not a happy camper about this.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: The forecast is showing rain for my shower on Saturday.. its supposed to be in my backyard.. I need it to NOT rain!
Rave: The workers are here installing our new vinyl plank floors! These will be done before the shower!
Questions: Anyone else doing the 4D ultrasound?
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? I do love holidays, my mom decorates for EVERY holiday... so its something that I've started doing as an adult, my husband thinks I'm nuts. I think I like Christmas the best, but its hard between my parents being divorced ( two different places to go to) and then my husbands family ( again, two places to go to) its a lot of traveling. But we decided with LO coming, we aren't traveling this Christmas and everyone can come to us if they want to see us. I also love Halloween and dressing up! Can't wait to put LO is so many cute costumes!!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 29+6 / July 23, but planned induction at 37 weeks due to ICP
Baby is the size of a(n): Barbie convertible
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green!
Upcoming Appointments: MFM ultrasound tomorrow and regular appt Wednesday
How are you feeling?: Lots of painful BH and trouble sleeping, but feeling well otherwise! I'm interested to see if they can pick up anything on the ultrasound tomorrow...
Rants/Raves: My kids are being so well behaved today, it's such a relief to start a rainy Monday on a good note!
Questions:
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? I love all holidays!!! It's fun to celebrate, especially with the kids! Although we didn't end up doing anything for Mother's day. I also love getting matching holiday themed outfits for my boys! This baby will be born right around 4th of July and I'm trying to decide on a cute outfit for him/her!
@jennm0724 no 4d ultrasound here, but they seem sooo cool! I bet you'll love it! I do get a 3d peek at baby tomorrow at my MFM appt though! And fingers crossed the rain goes away... same thing happened with DS1s birthday party last year. We planned for it to be outside and it rained so we were all squished in our house lol.
@samanthak46 I don't know from personal experience, but I've heard at times if you are measuring way ahead they sometimes want to induce a week early or so if they are worried about baby being too big for a vaginal birth! I don't think it necessarily means you'd go into labor early (but you could!). I'd ask your doc at your next appt if it means anything for you!
@canuckmomma I'm with you... trying to cherish every little bump, kick, wiggle, etc. I'm having a hard time emotionally thinking that this is most likely the last time I'll experience any of this!
@hestia14 love that you are making curtains for the baby's room!! I have a few things I made for the nursery with my first and since we kept the nursery the same for each baby they are still there. It's special to see personal touches you did yourself!
How are you feeling?: ready for him to be here and hitting that 3rd tri exhaustion
Rants/Raves: Last week was rough with sickness but I laid in bed most of the day yesterday while H entertained the girls and made dinner. I’m finally felling better and ready to start tackling baby clothes
Questions:
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? I love all holidays. Christmas is my favorite because we have so many traditions so it’s a month of celebrating and good family time
Baby is the size of a(n): 1/2 a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake?
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): PINK!
Upcoming Appointments: May 23 is the next OB appt.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, but tiring more quickly now. Also, feeling a little overwhelmed at how much more we need to do to get everything ready for her arrival. I've gotten all the stuff I need for delivery ordered. But we have NOTHING for her around the house. I have a few outfits, but nothing significant. Fingers are crossed for the baby shower that we will get at least *some* of the things we need.
Rants/Raves: Rave: We finished the bathroom tile over the weekend. I'm so relieved that it is done. Now I just get to do all the rest of the work to finish the bathroom.... paint the cabinet (almost done), paint the walls, clean off the grout haze, decorate, get the plumbing fixtures attached and caulked, and caulk around the window and everything. And that is just the bathroom. Yikes. - I'm ready to be done with the bathroom because we need to start making some bigger decisions around the nursery since we've done NOTHING there. We also need to finish with cleaning out the garage. Our goal is by the end of June, that we will be able to park both of our cars inside the garage. We have a long way to go for that, so fingers are crossed that I can keep up enough energy to get these things done and not be in too much pain doing them. I'm hurting from the grout project. But here is the tile.
Questions: What "nesting" project are you working on this week?
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why?
I am a HUGE holiday person. I love all holidays. I think my top is Christmas. I just love all the decorations and the lights and the presents and the family time and I'm REALLY looking forward to it now that we will have a kid! It is going to be so much fun to see her get into it. We are also pretty into the church side of it as well. We really enjoy the special masses and everything leading up to the holiday. We have a great Christmas House. It is easy to decorate and has the right spaces. It was actually something we ruled into every house we looked at, "Where will we put the Christmas Tree? What does Christmas look like here?
I also really love Thanksgiving. I always get to see tons of family because we usually go to GA for Thanksgiving every year. I get to see my cousins and aunts and uncles and spend a whole week with my family. And I also really enjoy cooking with my mom. She and I run the show for Thanksgiving and it is a really special time that she and I share with each other. It is really the only time of year that she cooks a "meal", so we love to do it together. My dad's favorite has always been Independence Day. He loves fireworks and summer fun. They live on a lake, so we usually go see them in July as well. We didn't get to go out last year because my sister graduated from college last year, so our trip out to GA was in May instead. And then we don't get to go this year because my due date is obviously in the way of that! But I'm excited that we will probably go next summer and celebrate baby girl's first birthday at the lake with fireworks and everything! Loving that she is going to be a July baby!
Upcoming Appointments: regular ob next Monday (830am appointment despite it being a holiday here ugh)
How are you feeling?: good. Been getting some BH when I’m dehydrated but they haven’t been painful
Rants/Raves: I didn’t think I cared about it being Mother’s Day/ didn’t count it as my first, and DH is out of town so I didn’t expect anything. But when I told him that our gym had given out roses to all the mum’s and had given me one too, he responded with something sweet about how I deserved it, I am a mother and that should be recognized, etc. Insta unstoppable tears that fully caught me off guard.
Questions: for STMs - is it easy to tell the difference between BH and real contractions as we get closer to D day?
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? Not a big holiday person other than Halloween - love that one and can’t WAIT to start dressing up baby girl. DH is already planning what scary movies he can show her and when (I guarantee it will be way earlier than anyone else thinks is appropriate but he knows he’s on duty for any repercussions haha).
Upcoming Appointments: last regular gynecologist appointment tomorrow before switching over to the birthing center, anesthesiologist and therapy (trying a new thing of putting all appointments on the same day instead of running constantly back and forth between appointments...already feeling like it was a bad idea)
How are you feeling?: starting to feel anxiety/early depression kicking in I was hoping to make it a bit longer (or even avoid it this time around!)
Rants/Raves: I’ll just rave to try to put myself in a more positive mood - DD has been so cute about her little brother this week, kissing my belly and asking tons of questions about how she can help. Really helping me feel better about the age gap between them.
Questions: For those with PPD or PPA, to what extent did you (or do you) involve your DH in your therapy?
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why?
I come from a family who put (almost too much) pressure on holidays and am used to going big.
However, DH’s family is the other end of the spectrum - maybe a phone call on a birthday If you are lucky. At this point, I’ve come to accept that he can get slightly better but will never understand or live up to some of my expectations around holidays. Now I’ve learned to embrace the lowered pressure - although I can’t say i don’t prefer being a bit more festive
@hestia14 I really dislike people who can't even fake being interested in you. If i ask you about your work, ask me about mine or find something to ask me about. It's really not that hard. I wouldn't socialize with them again either.
@canuckmomma glad you are getting some exercises for your pelvic floor and the iron supplements are helping!
@samanthak46 Based on my experience, no it doesn't mean much unless you are trending extremely big or small. Being within a week sounds reasonable and if your doctor/nurses are anything like mine if something is off they were tell you otherwise it's pretty FYI because some people like to know. I was also told the further along you are the less accurate dating is because babies go through growth spurts just like humans.
@jennm0724 I had a random 4D ultrasound but they still couldn't see much because baby didn't have enough fat on them at that time (i think around week 24.)
@ccmama3 Love having wins with kids being well behaved, especially when the weather is crappy!
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green (still surprises me how many people can't believe we chose not to find out)
Upcoming Appointments: nothing this week.
How are you feeling?: Good, but exhaustion has started creeping back in, Saturday i laid down for just a minute and work up 2 hours later. MH had gone to target and come back without me even knowing.
Rants/Raves: Still just loving watching MH nest. I'm failing at house work, which is sometimes hard because he doesn't really do the day to day housework which annoys me, but i remember all this hard work he's putting in to make the whole house look great.
Questions: nope
GTKY: I guess this is an UO. I don't get too excited about holidays. I love spending time with family but I don't really like to decorate the house, we don't dress up for halloween, nor do we have significant traditions that i just can't live without.
@frenchbaby18 I'm 11 years older than my little sister. And it was amazing to be that far apart. We are best buddies, even now. I was able to help a TON with my sister because I was SO MUCH older. I think one of the big things that it really helped with is that we never really needed the same type of attention at the same time. I think larger age differences are better! She will keep being more and more helpful for you. Maybe that'll help you feel better about it.
One of the reasons we are probably only having one is because I would want a large gap (at least 5 years) between them. And I'll be 39 then, and I don't really want to go through that high-risk age stuff.
@blackhottamales - that is so interesting that people are being weird about you not wanting to find out. I mean, the tech has only been reliable for about 25 years and only available for about 35 years. Like half of our parents in this group just had a "good-enough guess" available to them.
@hestia14 definitely feeling you on the reflux. I swear I thought I was gonna *actually* puke last night, not just in my mouth 🤢 Also that's really weird... Sounds like your husband just thought he had good friend matchmaking skills and didn't. I wouldn't persue it. I've persued several friendships because I was guilted into doing so but none have ever worked out.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 29+4 due July 25
Baby is the size of a(n): Pineapple 🍍
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink 💗
Upcoming Appointments: Not until the 30th. It was supposed to be the Thursday before that but the health department is closed that day.
How are you feeling?:
Terrible. My reflux is absolutely insane. Heartburn all day every day. This is TMI but my constant constipation has reopened the cut I have in my butt from when I gave birth the first time and I'm sure it won't be healed by the time this LO is born. It's really awful. Also my leg!/uterus! My doctor said the pain was from doing too much lifting and carrying my son but I have to carry him sometimes and now I'm really paying for it. Feels like my leg is being ripped from my body every step I take. 😭 Just not a good week this week.
Rants/Raves:
Rave: see above😂😆🤦
And also in exhausted from pee waking me, reflux waking me, my son waking me and or my husband waking me. I'm gonna go live on a deserted island for the next ten weeks if my husband wakes me up one more time 🤪🌴🥥⛱️🌊
Questions:
Anyone else on their second baby and DONE? Everyone at church keeps saying are you done and when I say yes they say well maybe God will bless you with more 🤦 I don't need blessed with more. I have two in heaven already...
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why?
Christmas! Jesus, family, food, and gifts 💕 what's not to love!? I just live holidays in general too
For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him. Samuel 1:27 KJV DS born 1.25.18 (my rainbow) | Baby Girl Due 7.25.19
@jasonsgirl92 ... We are done after this second baby too. Annoying when ppl ask about a third when we haven't even birthed the second yet. Sorry about your leg pain. I get pain in my pelvis and down my leg too when I overdue things... I really have slowed down and stopped doing specific movements that irritate it. Also lots of pelvis stretches!
@frenchbaby18 I'm five years older than my sister and DH is eight years older than his brother. Even though I'd rather our kids be more like 2-3 years apart, I'm actually worried for it because neither of us has had that kind of sibling relationship! When my sister was born, I was old enough to understand that she needed a lot of attention and care, so I never acted out due to jealousy. I apparently gushed about her so much that after all these years, that's the first thing my second grade teacher remembers about me. (I'm friends with a few of my old teachers on Facebook.) My sister and I spent so much time together with me giving her advice--I could always count on her coming into my room the last week of August and asking, "What was third/sixth/eighth grade like?" It's definitely a different dynamic than more "traditional" sibling age gaps, but DH and I wouldn't change our relationship with our siblings. @blackhottamales@jasonsgirl92 Yeah, DH tends to get overzealous when introducing me to women he works with because he always thinks we'll become BFFs. He told me afterwards that Saturday was the first time he'd spoken to his coworker in person--the rest had been over instant messenger. I think he mistook what was probably a polite "I can't wait to meet her!" as genuine interest. We talked about it more and we both feel better, but he still wants to invite them over for "our next game night." Uh, I'm pretty sure we're not gonna be hosting game nights for at least a year @finnflan That is so sweet! DH gave me a similar surprise on Mother's Day and it was waterworks from me, too. And I totally forgot about baby Halloween costumes--how am I going to choose when there are so many adorable options? I already have a little pumpkin-butt sleeper with a matching hat that I can't wait for her to wear
Thanks @hestia14 and @hakele! In my family we have very small gaps (3 girls in 4 years...) so I’m very used to growing up with siblings super close in age for better or for worse!
My main worry has been that DD has some negative only child behavior patterns that have already developed (oops...spoiled only child, only grandchild on both sides up until a couple of months ago) and this was one of the drivers for having a 2nd. Most of the moms on the playground have a 2-3 year age gap and have been scaring me about regressions in their older kids and jealous issues...i probably need to find some good books to read for ideas about how best to handle this transition for my DD!
@hestia14 +1 for the reflux.. I've woken myself up in the middle of the night several times choking on bile.. its horrible.. and scary cause I can't breath! What's helped for me is not eating past 6:30pm (I got to bed at 9, but usually don't lay down flat until 10). This seems to be enough of a window where I won't get reflux, but I can still get heartburn LOL!
@canuckmomma hopefully the PT helps!! Glad the iron supplements are helping!
@ccmama3 yay for a 3D peak at baby today! Unfortunately the forecast just keeps getting worse.. looks like I'll be squishing people into my house... I feel like its going to change the entire idea of how I'd thought this shower would be.. oh well
@annewheeler2 I'm right there with you on the exhaustion.. yesterday I wanted to take a nap so badly but had to stay awake because we have workers here doing our floor install.. today I woke up feeling even more tired than I was yesterday!
@hakele the bathroom tile looks awesome!!! I bet it feels so good to have that done! I'd love to do our shower in tile, but at this point that project is about 2 years out LOL. I need my kitchen upgraded first.. as far as a nesting project, I'm just trying to get the house ready for the baby shower on saturday.. new floors are being installed as I type, which means we have to paint the base boards when they're done, touch up the wall paint.. we have flat paint, you can't just wipe spots off.. you have to freaking touch it up with paint.. I need to pull the weeds in the front yard, the lawns need to be mowed.. so much shit to do.. so little time.. one slow pregnant lady
@finnflan hopefully with it being a holiday you won't have any traffic! Aww how sweet of DH!
@frenchbaby18 I like the idea of having all the appointments on one day, but it does sound a bit overwhelming. hang in there!! My older brother is 4 years older than me and my younger brother is 7 years younger.. my older brother and I are close, and my younger brother is like my child. I felt like I was his second mom, since my mom worked, I would help take care of him. I still see him as a baby lol, even though we are grown adults now. I'm thinking for our #2 maybe a 2 year age gap, just due to DH and my age.. we're not getting any younger LOL. My husband has a large age gap between he and his sister (different dads) they are about 16 years apart! Horrible relationship.. lots of resentment from his sister that my husband got the childhood she never did.
@blackhottamales I'm hoping she has enough fat so we can see! I'll be 30 weeks on the dot, so hopefully we can get some good images! As I was typing your name out to tag, all I could think of was the hot tamale candies and how I want some now LOL haven't had them in years.
@jasonsgirl92 ouch!!! poor thing! Is there anything that you can do to help it heal or at this point it is what it is?
@jennm0724 thanks all appointments are now over and I would officially say it was not a good idea gynecologist was great because I like her a lot and she has an ultrasound machine so checked position (surprised he is now head down when I assumed he was still transverse)! But so sad it’s my last appointment with her
The rest was just running all over Paris in the metro and trying to connect to emails to do work from various cafes between the other appointments...so over work at this point....
@canuckmomma Yeah I just take it in stride and smile and nod. It's hard not to overdo stuff because we just moved and cleaning up after DS and DH is a full time job lol.
@hakele I'll have to try that. I've been on Zantac before which is practically just sugar pills I think. I took them at the same time every day even and still didn't work. Tums work but only until I drink water again, or eat.
@jennm0724 Nope this is just how it goes. It will heal on it's own and probably "unheal" when I have baby, unless I have a c-section for some reason. I've been eating oatmeal maybe it will help lol. Also I have the same acid problem but usually only if I've eaten too close to bedtime (as you mentioned) OR if I ate a "trigger food" at any point during the day. An example, I had a spicy ramen at 10AM one day and seriously by 10PM I was still chugging Tums and feeling awful. Also I'd stay away from tea, or basically anything not water, preferably all day but at least a few hours before bed. I've noticed at least for me tea makes me have the bile shoot up in my throat just as much as red sauce.
For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him. Samuel 1:27 KJV DS born 1.25.18 (my rainbow) | Baby Girl Due 7.25.19
@jennm0724 that’s part of where my screen name came from. It was on the TTGP board and a GTKY question like what’s your stripper name or something: the color of your underwear and the last thing you ate. I liked the outcome so I changed my screen name that day.
@hestia14 I'm sorry you had to deal with such an awkward situation. I find MH does that on occasion too, where he really thinks I will hit it off with a female acquaintance, when just because we like each other doesn't mean we have the same taste in female friends. @canuckmomma what kind of PT exercises do they have you do for your pelvic floor? @samanthak46 I wouldn't worry at this stage, and esp if it's only a few days. Measurements can be off, baby can be large in different ways (like long and skinny vs robust) and FWIW my mother and several friends of mine have given birth to 10lb+ babies with no issues. I also spoke with my midwives about this since I'm at risk for my baby being larger with GD and for the most part their response was that big babies are no big deal to them and that they delivery them commonly without any issue. That being said, I ended up with a planned CS with DS because he was past due and measured at 10lb+.. and when they pulled him out he was actually 7lb12oz. @jennm0724 I hope the rain decides to stay away this weekend! @ccmama3 +1 for painful braxton hicks, do you find anything in particular triggers yours? @annewheeler2 I'm glad you're starting to feel better, I hope things stay on the up and up for you. @hakele Your bathroom is looking great! I've pretty much just got to get baby stuff out and organized at this point. Half of it lives in my wardrobe and the other half is in storage. I need to bring it all to the house and get things moved into the guest room/office and we need to get our changing pad attached to the little Ikea 4 square kallax that we have in there. @finnflan I never went into labor with my first but guides like this have been helpful since I have really strong BH this pregnancy: https://bloomlife.com/preg-u/normal-contractions/ @frenchbaby18 I'm sorry you're already dealing with depression/anxiety stuff. I had PPD w/ DS but I wasn't really aware and I was afraid to really address it with anyone. I had terrible prenatal anxiety and was only aware in hindsight, when that lifted (before the second wave of PPD settled in), I confided with DH a little bit because I felt better. I think this time I will talk more freely with him, just so he's aware, but I also don't really plan on taking a break from my therapist at all unless I'm actively in labor during my appt. On the age difference, my two will be 5 years apart and I think it will be really great. The only child behaviors are tough to manage but I think that because they are so much more aware of what is changing around them, and you can talk to them about their feelings, there will be less of a chance of major problems and regressions. @blackhottamales Have you had anyone support your in your surprise baby journey yet? I think my mom is the only impatient one because she has some twisted fantasy about being a grandmother of girls, which kind of makes me hope this is another boy haha. @jasonsgirl92 I'm sorry you're dealing with so many digestive woes. I hope you find some relief soon!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/19 30w+5d
Baby is the size of a(n): Paper towel tube
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green
Upcoming Appointments: MFM tomorrow to review my GD situation, midwives on Monday
How are you feeling?: Nervous about my appt today. I've been a little DNGAF about eating for the past few days because of us going on a birthday holiday, and I"m hoping the doc doesn't take that as a sign that I am not keeping things under control. Also, this is the first OB I will have seen during my pregnancy. My midwives do not consider me high risk because of age/vbac/gd but I know if I were seeing an OB they would
Rants/Raves: Rant/ 1) We went to the coast this weekend and it went from being really warm and sunny when we arrived on Friday to cold, breezy and cloudy for the remainder of the weekend. 2) My mom hasn't called me on the phone to chat in maybe 2 years, she only texts or emails. Today is my birthday and she just sent me an email filled with emojis
Questions:
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? We haven't done much for any of the holidays but I rather enjoy Christmas the most because of the tree, music and getting DS hyped up on Santa.
@mamanbebe Right now just simple delivery prep moves that I think we will build on as the weeks come. Butterfly stretch with my feet together/knees out, bridges/hip thrusts while lying on a yoga ball or side of the couch, variations of squats and holding a low squat. I was told no more lunges, single legged or jumping moves in my workout regimen. After birth we will work on recovery and strength.
@mamanbebe I hope you still had fun even though the weather changed on you! There are some people who are supportive regarding waiting, most of the time it seems like they made the same choice and waited. I think also it surprises them with my personality.
@hestia14 I love that you’re making curtains! Such a great
idea. I can’t find any pre-made that I like, so might do the same.
@samanthak45 I understand that baby will grow more some
weeks and less other weeks. Maybe by your next appt, baby will have had a few “grow
less weeks” and will be right back on track?
@jennm0724 I’m with you on Christmas being hard! We’ve only
got 3 places to go, but its so much work it ruins the holiday for me.
@hakele LOVE the tile!! The extra little blue tiles around
the window was such a great idea.Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 31st / 29W

How are you feeling?: Hot, hot, hot! Crank up the A/C!
Rants/Raves: Have had some energy this week! *knock on wood!!!* Which is great because we just bought a house and have to move. Just in case the energy doesn't last, I scheduled movers to come on the 28th to move furniture + anything we haven't gotten done yet. Also! Our realtor's wife crocheted us a baby blanket How sweet!
Questions:
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? Sometimes I'm a big holiday person. Sometimes I'm busy and don't have the energy to care. Thanksgiving is always big though. I love cooking, so the challenge of the big fancy dinner... plus using all the serving ware that I don't normally use is exciting.
@mamanbebe Sorry you're dealing with them too! They are so annoying!! Mine are usually at the end of the day when I finally get to sit down (I'm on my feet all day unless my kids are napping). Or sometimes even when I'm driving, which again is when I'm sitting down. My ultrasound showed my cervix is still long so it definitely seems to be BH as opposed to actual contractions. My midwife said to try to drink more water and decrease activity, but with a 1 and 2 year old the activity part is impossible (which she knows).
@flinnflan due to where I am having my pubic pain and discomfort the lunges and one legged moves irritate it. My body just says a big nope so my physio recommended other moves to help the issue. Plus my balance is way off haha.
Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a paper towel tube.
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Prenatal Massage - tomorrow; Midwife - May 21
How are you feeling?: Pretty good overall, like most of you exhaustion by the end of the day. When i get in bed i'm out within seconds.
Rants/Raves: Took my last work trip before my time off, so that was bittersweet. i'll miss the people i work with on these trips. On the upside, my room was upgraded to a suite while i was away, so that was a pleasant surprise!
Questions: none.
GTKY: We just had Mother's Day! Are you a big holiday person? Which holiday is your favorite and why? By far, Christmas is my absolute favourite. I start decorating and getting in the spirit around mid-november, and that lasts until january haha. i can't wait to include the new babe in our traditions. this one will also be extra special as we'll be in the caribbean, celebrating with both sides of the family.
@fromcatstokids Thanks for noticing! It was crazy when I started doing the window sill, we realized that the blue tiles fit the frame PERFECTLY. It was meant to be. And it looks great and covers up some weird imperfections we had going on around the window.
@mixitupmel Glad your trip went well! I just passed on an optional business trip next week: I really did not want to fly down south for a two-hour meeting that I probably won’t contribute much to. I knew I’d be hot, exhausted, and cranky. I normally love traveling for business, but this would have been too much for me.
@hestia14 i 100% agree with you, it's definitely not worth it. i normally love travelling for work too, but these days i just wanna be home. plus the hotel pillows are no bueno. i wish had brought my preggy pillow lol, as big as it is!
@flinnflan due to where I am having my pubic pain and discomfort the lunges and one legged moves irritate it. My body just says a big nope so my physio recommended other moves to help the issue. Plus my balance is way off haha.
Sorry for all the pain you’re having! I had been wondering if you were told it was a general no-no because I still do them all the time and got worried haha

Baby is the size of a(n): as tall as a paper towel tube
Almost threw up last night because it was so bad, and woke up in the middle of the night with a stomachache. Of course, today is the day they have a taco truck at work. I'm gonna enjoy my chips and guac with a side of Tums.
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): pink
Upcoming Appointments: check-up 5/21
How are you feeling?: REFLUX.
I'm so excited to watch her see Christmas lights for the first time
Baby is the size of a(n): Platypus
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green
Baby is the size of a(n): barbie convertible
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue
Upcoming Appointments: check up next Wednesday
Baby is the size of a(n): acorn squash
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): pink

Baby is the size of a(n): platypus minus the tail
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): baby girl
Baby is the size of a(n): acorn squash
I was hoping to make it a bit longer (or even avoid it this time around!)
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue
Upcoming Appointments: last regular gynecologist appointment tomorrow before switching over to the birthing center, anesthesiologist and therapy (trying a new thing of putting all appointments on the same day instead of running constantly back and forth between appointments...already feeling like it was a bad idea)
How are you feeling?: starting to feel anxiety/early depression kicking in
Rants/Raves: I’ll just rave to try to put myself in a more positive mood - DD has been so cute about her little brother this week, kissing my belly and asking tons of questions about how she can help.
@hakele the tile looks great!
Baby is the size of a(n): Coconut
One of the reasons we are probably only having one is because I would want a large gap (at least 5 years) between them. And I'll be 39 then, and I don't really want to go through that high-risk age stuff.

Not until the 30th.

@blackhottamales @jasonsgirl92 Yeah, DH tends to get overzealous when introducing me to women he works with because he always thinks we'll become BFFs. He told me afterwards that Saturday was the first time he'd spoken to his coworker in person--the rest had been over instant messenger. I think he mistook what was probably a polite "I can't wait to meet her!" as genuine interest. We talked about it more and we both feel better, but he still wants to invite them over for "our next game night." Uh, I'm pretty sure we're not gonna be hosting game nights for at least a year
@finnflan That is so sweet! DH gave me a similar surprise on Mother's Day and it was waterworks from me, too. And I totally forgot about baby Halloween costumes--how am I going to choose when there are so many adorable options? I already have a little pumpkin-butt sleeper with a matching hat that I can't wait for her to wear
The rest was just running all over Paris in the metro and trying to connect to emails to do work from various cafes between the other appointments...so over work at this point....
DS born 1.25.18 (my rainbow) | Baby Girl Due 7.25.19
@finnflan I never went into labor with my first but guides like this have been helpful since I have really strong BH this pregnancy: https://bloomlife.com/preg-u/normal-contractions/
@frenchbaby18 I'm sorry you're already dealing with depression/anxiety stuff.
@hestia14 I love that you’re making curtains! Such a great idea. I can’t find any pre-made that I like, so might do the same.
@samanthak45 I understand that baby will grow more some weeks and less other weeks. Maybe by your next appt, baby will have had a few “grow less weeks” and will be right back on track?
@jennm0724 I’m with you on Christmas being hard! We’ve only got 3 places to go, but its so much work it ruins the holiday for me.
