  • @flagchic I didnt realize you were in AZ as well! I'm in southern AZ, basically you can throw a rock from my town into Mexico, so quite a ways from you. We are in the "high desert" so it gets to be about 105 here but at night even on the warmest days its in the 60s or 70s. And we get snow occasionally...this year we got a TON of it!

@mrosek91 thanks :) gluten is the last thing I'm introducing haha. I did nuts tonight (spoon of straight up peanut butter followed by a vegan almond magnum bar.  No regrets),  will do eggs on Friday,  and start dairy next week.... I've got a plan haha. Hoping I have no set backs or digestive issues/induced intolerances to slow me down.  I want to be ready for a wedding in 2.5 weeks and travel right after that....it would be nice to eat with no, or at least fewer restrictions by that point.

How is your pregnancy going so far?: Everyone is looking healthy so far, which is fantastic, but having twins has just made this a bit of a tougher pregnancy in general. I still occasionally have morning nausea and food aversions, and of course I’ve grown faster (I’m measuring about 34wks at the moment) which means I became less mobile significantly earlier in the pregnancy.

We settled on names earlier this week, so it’s nice to have that checked off my “to-do” list. Other than that, I’m just waiting for the month to be over - once school is out, my friend’s girls are going to be helping me out with DD and it should make my life a lot easier.

Anything going on in your life right now that you'd like to share? We are working on a lot of projects aroubd the house/yard. We are either re-building our deck or hiring contractors to do it, fixing our a/c, putting in an above ground pool, lots of landscaping, and moving bedrooms around. I am excited bur it is a ton of work and I csn barely help with any of it.

  • @purplg8r yes it is thankfully it's all driving distance, so we can control our schedule, and DH likes to drive, so it'll be easy for me. I have to be in NYC at a client for a week, and DH can work remotely. So my mom is coming to wathc the boys and we're going just the two of us. I call it a fake babymoon because we will both still be working 9-5. But we'll have the evenings to ourselves, probably try and hit a few nice restaurants, and maybe a tourist spot or two. And the client is paying for a really nice hotel.
  • @jrm_14 nice! Anywhere near KC? We go there probably every other month. Two of my brothers live there

@mrosek91 if you don’t mind my asking, what do you do for a living? Based on the little blurbs I’ve seen, it sounds like an interesting job!
  • @emqbee I am what's called an IT auditor, and if you've never heard of it, most people haven't. I go into a company and examine their systems to make sure that they are correctly set up to ensure the financial information is correct. I specialize in companies that perform significant services for other companies. So like if you use a payroll provider, or a credit card processor, we will go in and make sure the reports they are giving you are accurate. It's interesting work, and I like it because you get to meet a lot of different types of people, and learn a little about a lot of different industries. I used to travel a lot more for it, but thankfully once I started having kids my department was mostly able to transfer me to local clients, or ones where the work can be done remotely. This NY trip is unusual for me, and I'm excited and nervous about it.

How is your pregnancy going so far?: Meh. I have had my ups and downs with this pregnancy. Atypical migraine, gallbladder issue, reflux, sciatica, ugh.   But, baby is healthy and I am still pregnant, so overall I should be pretty happy.

My almost 3 year old hit his head on our train table on Monday and needed stitches (ended up getting glued) and my 18 month old got diagnosed with strep today. Summer vacation is coming for our 4 big kids in a few weeks and I can’t wait!! Also, I’m having a hard time keeping up here with the app and feel bad for not being more involved here.

How is your pregnancy going so far?: Overall pretty uneventful! I had some early bleeding before my 8 week appt that was scary, but no issues since. I have my 28wk appt and glucose test scheduled for June 7. I did an early glucose screening due to PCOS around 17 weeks and passed so I'm hoping the same happens for this one!

Where do you live?: Northern VA

Anything going on in your life right now that you'd like to share? I'm a teacher and the end of the school year is right around the corner! I work at two different schools (same county so I am full time, but work part time at each school) so my maternity leave arrangement will be... interesting. They are working on figuring out a long term sub (I have one school figured out already), and I am hoping to get any sub plans figured out before I leave school for the summer! I'm due 8/31, so it's the end of the first week of school next year. If she arrives early, I might not return to school at all before I would need sub plans. FX it all gets worked out soon!

How is your pregnancy going so far: not bad and all in all I can’t complain. Although man pregnancy does not get easier the older you get. This anterior placenta is also freaking me out a little - I’m supposed to be doing daily kick counts but I’ve learned little man has his active days and less active days depending on his position so as long as I’m feeling him some each day I try not to worry knowing a far more active day is coming

Anything going on right now you’d like to share: officially graduated to my full on mom car yesterday! And loving the van so far! Have a trip planned to get my kids up to see my parents one last time before the baby comes - then it’s on them to get down here for a while.

@olivemomma I think my OB may just be super laid back (well I know he is) but he didn't have me do kick counts last time.  I just kind of mentally kept track of feeling her moving. I asked the other day at my appointment how I'm supposed to know this baby is ok having the anterior placenta this time and feeling less consistent movements.  He basically just told me it's hard between the AP and already being busier with another kid there will be nights when I lay down and wonder if I've felt anything all day.  Thankfully when I do lay down at night she generally moves around quite a bit.  It is nerve wracking though, so I totally get where you're coming from!

My husbands starting a new job Monday and my coworker is on maternity leave so I’ve been doing 2 jobs so just a tiring time. DH took this week off so he’s made a lot of progress in the nursery and I’m def excited about that! Just really ready to meet my baby girl and not be pregnant anymore lol
  • @mkrel @olivemomma same here re: kick counts. My midwife last time and this time (2 different midwives but same system...everyone has midwives here, not OBs unless you're high risk, then you usually see both) said you just get to know what's "normal" for your baby and that official kick counts are a bit outdated. The only time they told me to do formal kick counts (like, making sure I felt a certain number of movements within a certain amount of time, usually when lying down or after having a cold drink or something) was when I noticed baby strayed from their normal patterns of activity.

But I hear you on the anxiousness surrounding baby movements...whenever someone says, "I'm in no rush to have the baby on the outside, I like knowing they're safe inside me" I just can't understand it *personally*...I like to SEE the baby breathing whenever I want lol

My breathing is getting worse. I have to call the Dr in the morning cuz the inhaler, nebulizer and daily pill isn’t working. I almost passed out twice from lack of air yesterday and I wasn’t doing anything too strenuous.
I’m also kinda freaking out over having a 10yr old, 2yr old and infant in a few months. My ADHD is all over the place trying to figure out how it’s gonna work. I can’t wait to see baby and see his personality compared to the other 2 but DS2 is a lot of work so I’m nervous. Is this weird for TTM?

How is your pregnancy going so far?: Pretty good. My biggest complaint is the pain - pelvic pain and lower back pain. Lately pelvic pain has been the worst but I’ve also been so ridiculously active. Otherwise, all good!
