Did you accomplish something so far this week? Did you meet a goal or do something amazing? Are you proud of yourself for making it through half the week without choking somebody? You deserve a pat on the back! Share something from your week that you are proud of! *Stolen from a 2016 post .
Soooo I am SUPER proud of my productiveness and for not going bat shit cray cray on DH
I have: Cleaned the living area...3 Times cause it continues to be a hot mess Cleaned HIS half kitchen which had gotten disgusting (took me an hour and a half) Picked up and cleaned the main kitchen Deep cleaned the bird cage that he’s supposed to be responsible for mowed a portion of the back AND whole front lawn (again... his responsibility)
I also finally got my car to the shop (needs a new engine apparently!)
Dealt with my cat letting loose a chipmunk in our house
And FINALLY got through Marie Kondoing my clothes situation (5 full bags going to donation... although they were all packed into the car that is now at the shop for the next week lol)
@madcouplewithabox My goodness, you've been a busy lady!!! That's awesome! I started doing the whole Marie Kondo method on some areas of the house, too!
@madcouplewithabox wow that is quite a bit and while keeping your cool. You are my hero!
I reorganized our entire budget and managed to save us some extra money. It's not much but every little bit counts. Also I've been really careful with my diet since I'm still not able to exercise (other than easy walking) and I lost 2 pounds. However I am concerned that some of the weight loss maybe related to muscle loss from having so many activity restrictions for so long.

Due to having a scrap metal recycle drive and having a dumpster for when they tore our deck down, we've been able to get rid of a lot of weird junk! Including stuff left by the previous owner of our house. Our foyer closet is finally clear so that we can start storing all our coats in 1 closet (some of my coats currently lay strewn about on our guest bed).
We cleared a lot of stuff from the patio under the deck to make it a little easier on the contractor over the weekend too.
I'm really hoping throughout this year we can spend a day over the weekends to see what kind of stuff we want to trash because we don't use it. Removing clutter is really helping me feel good and less anxious!
Also pat on the back to myself for not yet strangling SIL's BF (see yesterday's twat waffle post). I've watched a lot of Forensic Files... I should be able to get away with it right?

Mine is more of a TWT, but on a Wednesday. So I'll just pat myself on the back for not punching the a-hole lab technician who works in the other department's lab.
He's been here for like 20-something years, and is very good at what he does, but he's a self-centered a-hole about it. He's constantly trying to throw other people under the bus and makes it seem like he is the only one who knows anything. He runs anywhere between 1-3 test setups at a given time in his lab, whereas my lab runs 16 test setups at a time. In a meeting today, he made a snide remark about how my lab technicians should be paying more attention to what's happening inside of their test setups (related to a design issue) and I wanted to punch him. This issue could happen at any point between 1 and 18 hours into the test, and it happens in a matter of seconds... and you can only catch it visually if you just happen to be standing in front of the right unit at the right moment AND you're overriding the safety interlocks (in order to have the test setup open in order to see it). How exactly are my guys supposed to do that safely across 16 systems? Side note: this isn't even our specific function on this project. Then, he started bitching about how we have safety interlocks on everything in our lab (so people like him can't just barge in and do things without our permission). GOD FORBID we try not to hurt or kill anyone in our lab! THE NERVE!!!
ANYWAY, that probably means absolutely nothing to anyone, but I am annoyed.

@shamrocandroll ugh!! I think DH would love your story. He does product testing for work and some of the people who do the actual setup for him and stuff are just bonkers in logic. Like ignoring tolerances because they mean nothing to them, etc.

@madcouplewithabox I wish you lived near me! I am holding a "swap" this weekend for my department/friends (& we're gonna donate everything no one wants to a local thrift store w/ a good cause!)
@shamrocandroll You deserve a pat on the back for having to deal w/ this guy! Sounds like a real jerk.
Oo I like this one! I entered one of my student's grades wrong, and I went into the department and fixed that for her today. I am proud of myself for taking action quickly--she deserved that A, and now the record will reflect it.
I also sucked it up and applied to work at a local chain bookstore for the summer. I'd rather freelance and/or edit manuscripts--aka, do gigs that allow me to work from home, but that work has been scarce in past summers, and we're really under a ton of bills right now, so every little bit, even if it's retail, helps.

@celticknotfire thank you!! I haven’t dyed it for like 5 years now! I hated my natural colour and pissed my mom off by dying it the darkest brown I could find haha.
I’m proud that I haven’t fallen apart over being benched for 3 more months, but I guess I have plenty of time to freak out over my unachievable timelines later. 😂 at least for now, I can see some good spots.
I have like a ptsd about posting wrong grades. I had a parent ream me out over a mistake I made adding up an exam grade. I apologized and rectified it as soon as it was brought to my attention, but the mom told me that in any other profession, people would DIE or at least be fired over making mistakes. 🙄 She was absolutely out of line, but I felt so terrible to have made a mistake. (But, let’s be real, there is never enough time to grade when it’s English class with essays. And I had about 250 students.) Ugh. The dean promised her I’d never make a mistake again and that made me feel worse. Thankfully the department chair weighed in and said that he makes those mistakes all the time.
@begging4abump I’m sorry you’re benched 3 more months. I can’t believe a parent said that to you! I had a couple professors get my grade wrong before but they were happy to correct it and it never bothered me because we all make mistakes sometimes

@begging4abump W-h-a-ttt. One of the things I love about teaching at the college level is how little involvement I have to have w/ parents. You are allowed to make mistakes, and I am so sorry you had to go thru that. That parent was way way out of line! If only they knew how little most profs are paid for all the work we do! We're all allowed mistakes & life after them, geeez.
@varimama thanks. Yea, it was a fancy pantsy college prep school, so it was expensive. She also yelled about paying 25k to not have teachers make mistakes. Unfortunately, my salary was not commensurate with the crazy high tuition.
@brookert615 Did you find anything good in other 2016 threads?! I’ve heard there’s some good stuff in years before that... like some 2013 or 2014 drama!
AFM, I got lots of grading done today!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24 omg. your post made it click for me how to confirm what I was suspecting for those years haha. now I know what my bedtime reading will be tonight...
