Re: WTO Wednesday 5/15

  • Good morning ladies!

    Month/Cycle: 5/1 AL

    CD: 19

    WAYDTGKU: benched; BBT and OPK

R/R: another STEM day today at school! My kids had their best behavior day in a few months yesterday, so I’m actually excited about today!

CS/Q: I’m thinking my OPK’s hate me this month. They keep getting lighter, but my BBT and CM show I’m getting closer to O. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I tried a spoiler box. Let’s see if I got it!

  • Good morning! 🐪

    Month/Cycle:10/9(fourth cycle AL)

    CD:13

WAYDTGKU: Prenatal vitamins, Fertility Friend, temping, OPKs, fertility tea, RE appointment next week.

R/R: DH is feeling better, yay! Now HIO can get back on track. :)

CS/Q: I think O is a few days away based on CM. I am trying to be a little more chill this cycle. We'll see how that goes. 🤣

  • @ejoseph16 you got the spoiler box. 👍
    Enjoy your STEM activities today!
  • @ejoseph16 glad your kids were well behaved! Enjoy STEM day!

@emeraldduchess Glad your H is feeling better! Being chill while TTC is so hard!

R/R: I was tired and ready for bed at like 8pm last night but stayed up bc DH hates when I just go to bed so early. Well then DH and I had a disagreement so I ended up staying up until almost 12. Then I woke up at 4:30 so I’m dragging today.

    CS/Q: none today yet

@emeraldduchess Yay for HIO and being more chill!
@varimama Sorry about the lack of sleep. I can relate! I hate the guilt trip when you need to go to bed early. :(

WAYDTGKU: BBT, FF, HIO, PNVs, and just started CBD oil to help with sleep

R/R: Rant: I have to get my car fixed today. It's under recall for a software update, and they said it could take 5 hours! :astonished: I hope the shuttle can take me home, or I'll be getting an Uber, because I can't sit there or kill time for that long when I could be napping at home.
Rave: Loving the nice weather! Sticking with my WW and working out so far this week.

CS/Q: AF just ended. Nothing to see yet. ETA: Anyone take the Ritual prenatal vitamins? I'm wondering if they're worth the cost or if I should just stick to my Nature Made.

R/R: I hope the OBGyn voicemail yesterday was just following up to make sure my
appointment was made. I haven’t put in for a sub yet and I’m wondering if I should take the day off for the procedure. I’m really trying to save days since I also need to take off for the RE.... Anyway, I went off the baby aspirin. My bruising was just too bad. They’re everywhere. Here are like 3 out of probably 12-15.

CS/Q: not much to see yet. Dropped below 97, so O is coming in a few days.

@ejoseph16 Do you mean the test line is getting lighter? Are you taking it in thr afternoon at the same time every day?

@emeraldduchess Yay for HIO and good luck with this cycle and being chill and your upcoming RE appointment :) That GIF is perfection.

@varimama Sigh. I am sorry. Marriage is f*king hard and no one talks about it. You are not alone. Therapy is so good, but often husbands won't even go. We are trying to strengthen our marriage because MH and I lean on each other pretty hsrd. It will just get harder to find childcare for appointments after we have a future baby (knock on wood), so we are moving quickly to find couples therapy now. Marriage is hard.

@MrsVP614 Nice work sticking to WW and workimg out. WTG!!!!!! Good call on the nap.

R/R: I called my old OB and she didn't have any notes from the scan from 2 years ago that found my fibroids and no help on where to find copies of the old scan. GREAT, thanks for the help!

My schedule is pretty open today so I am going to go outside and live my best life while MH is working. I just can't stop enjoying my life while TTC. It is not healthy!

CS/Q: Does anyone have any tricks to detecting Peak fertility using OPK strips? It says it only detects high fertility... If not, how long do people typically HIO after a positive?

  • @ejoseph16 Hope your students can keep that good behavior up today as well! Hope you can get that O soon!

@emeraldduchess Yay! Go get him lol. Hope you can be super zen this cycle!

@varimama Sorry about the lack of sleep!

@MrsVP614 Oh man! That's crazy about how long it will take! I would push for that shuttle - that's a little excessive to wait that long in the shop! I don't take Ritual nor have feedback but I asked my OBGYN for an RX for a prenatal and it's free with my insurance!

@NYTino24 FX that the call is just a follow up! Oh no! That bruising is awful :(.

@bobbyflies2020 So annoying they can't find anything in regards to your scan! Enjoy your day today! Love that attitude! Peak tests should have two solid lines that are the "same". My OPK cheapies tell me the level once I take a picture of it so it will tell me if it's low, mid-range, high or peak. I've used them in conjunction with my Clearblue Advanced OPKs and they had the same high and peak days. Also, we usually HIO for a few days after peak!

@NYTino24 I hope your voicemail is just a follow up! Those bruises look awful, I hope they heal up quick for you now that you stopped the baby aspirin.

@bobbyflies2020 yea my husband is against therapy but I don’t think we need it yet. Last night wasn’t a huge argument or anything just inconveniently timed for my lack of sleep. I’m glad your H is open to therapy, I honestly don’t get why men typically aren’t. Though mine won’t even see a dr unless he’s dying or I tell him he’s going 🤷🏻‍♀️ Enjoy your day outside!

@brookert615 sounds like a fun weekend! Happy Birthday to your H!

  • @ejoseph16 AL cycles are typically wonky, but FF if not OPKs usually figures it out. FX you O sooner rather than later! Also, excellent use of the spoiler box!

@emeraldduchess I was also thinking I might try to be "chill" this cycle... GL!

@varimama Sorry for the bad sleep schedule & disagreement =/

@MrsVP614 After reading It Starts With the Egg, I have been soooo picky about which PNV to take, and I've been taking the Mama Bird Prenatal (1/day) from Best Nest Wellness.

@NYTino24 Does baby asprin cause you to bruise more easily? I never knew this.

@bobbyflies2020 That's so disappointing about your former ob's office! You'd think, in this digital age, everything would be saved for like 50 years or something.

@brookert615 A+ to a nice healthy dinner! I spent most of yesterday trying to figure out "high protein low carb" dinners for pescatarians. I need to reread the chapter in It Start with the Egg on carbs bc some carbs are friendly, and remembering (besides the obvs) which ones are and why would be helpful bc yesterday I went down a "there's a carb in everything!" rabbit hole of note-taking.

    Month/Cycle: 8/4AL

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: PNV, RLT, Also: Grapefruit juice! I have been drinking it or eating a 1/2 grapefruit almost every day, and I didn't know why--I had read somewhere it was helpful w/ fertility, and I do love grapefruit & don't take any meds that it interferes w/ (it interferes w/ SO many)--anyway, turns out it helps yr body to produce more fertile CM, which makes sense bc I felt like I had more last cycle?

R/R: I don't think I'm getting enough protein, but I also don't think eating that much more meat will help--I do eat it every once in a while, but only a few bites. Maybe I have to be a once a week meat eater? Sigh. I just don't love it, and fish is expensive. Also, DH read some article that vitamins are "bad" for you, and has been making passive-agressive comments when I remind him to take his and then give him a hard time if I look in his cup and see he hasn't--I'm like, if you would take them WITH your meal, WHEN I remind you, after bringing you a glass of water, they'd be BETTER for you. I had to actually approach him last night and be like "you can't fight me on this anymore." It was getting too much! I could see myself having a meltdown over it and crying and him feeling bad, so--he is now forewarned this is a losing battle on his end. He's taking the damn vitamins w/ out complaint moving forward.

  • @kagesstarshroom When it comes to carbs I usually say things like veggies & oats = good and then breads and sugary things = bad LOL. I need to check into this grapefruit thing! And YH sounds like mine! He refused to take pills in vitamin form so the only way he will take them is in gummies  :#. Glad you stood your ground with him!

  • @brookert615 I think I'm gonna asks him if he wants to go back to brazil nuts bc he HATES brazil nuts, which is why I looked into getting him a vitamin in the first place! He just read some article about how vitamins (I think all vitamins, solid & gummy, unfortunately -_-) are bad and now he's all against them. I am like "send me the article. I teach research writing. I'll let you know if it's better than the research I've done/books I've read that are WELL-RESEARCHED and say vitamins = better chances at us getting KU!" Like, if it wasn't about TTC, I'd be like "fine, don't take vitamins" but like-- this hasn't been an easy process, and the months are just flying by, ya know? Argh! Anyway. Veggies and oats, yes! And nuts and seeds. I still think I want a refresher on the science in ISWTE...

Also, I went on a grapefruit juice tangent and forgot the rest of my WAYDT.... list, oh well!

  • @kagesstarshroom I’m not an expert so take this with a grain of salt but it’s my understanding that vitamins aren’t necessarily bad for you it’s just healthier to get the nutrients from more natural sources (aka healthy foods). Many people don’t get enough vitamins through food though and in that case it makes taking a vitamin more important. If your H doesn’t want to take vitamins then maybe you could make him prove to you that he’s getting enough nutrients through his diet alone.

@sevenn I’m sorry for your loss. Hope the day goes ok for you, be kind to yourself!

  • @bobbyflies2020 yeah I started 11days into this cycle and they started at almost the same darkness. Then they have gotten farther and farther apart since that day. Not closer in darkness, but one is significantly lighter than the other. I use wondfo. TW: I miscarried to start this cycle, so I knew things were going to be off. End TW. I’m not sure if that’s effecting it or not. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m sure it has something to do with it. But my temps show it’s clear I haven’t O’d yet.

CS/Q: Nothing to ask really. But my Pregmate cheapie OPKs are getting darker. I think my body is getting close to O. Yay! I forgot to temp this morning though. Ugh, I suck at it. I'm going to set an alarm these next few days. I think I might still be able to detect the downswing on my temps.

  • @varimama Oo yes, thanks. I know vitamins in and of themselves aren't the only thing to do-- we just are (((TW))) ttc after 2 losses (((end TW))), and read about things that people have done to improve chances, and vitamins are something most of the research says increases chances of healthier ova/sperm. We definitely eat healthily already, and I've even done research in the past on what to eat when you take vitamins to help with absorption--but I guess I could brush up on that side of it. He took them without complaint this evening.
  • @varimama night time disagreements are the worst.  I hate going to bed angry. Your DH sounds a lot like mine!  My DH also hates doctors, and doesn't like the idea of couples therapy.  He says he's not comfortable getting advice from someone who doesn't know us (ok...).
@MrsVP614 I hope everything worked out with your car today.  That's a crazy long wait!
@NYTino24 yikes to those bruises!  Hopefully you won't need a sub the day of your procedure.  How many days left do you have in the school year?
@bobbyflies2020 that is so frustrating that your OB office doesn't have those images.  :(  Hope you were able to get our and live your best life today!
@brookert615 <3 that puppy gif!! What does one make for a healthy birthday dinner?  The ones I make usually involve lots of cheese and carbs!
@kagesstarshroom I never heard that about grapefruit juice.  Might need to give that a try!
@sevenn I am sorry for your loss.
@ihaveprayed painting class sounds like fun.  I've always wanted to do one of those paint night things where they let you drink wine while painting.  But I'd probably just end up with a bunch of bad, drunk art. Haha.

@emeraldduchess 27! I need to take a half day for the procedure and possibly full day for the RE.

@kagesstarshroom Yes, aspirin is a blood thinner. I have a clotting disorder and it isn’t generally recommended for people with it, but MFM advised me to take it when TTCAL in 2017. My platelets were down to about 100 in November of that year, so that’s one reason people should consult their doc before going on it!

This was Dr. Google research though, so nothing substantiated, but I feel like it's working for me? @kagesstarshroom can confirm. I had DH take a men's multivitamin more regularly when we started doing IUIs. His motile count after the sperm wash for the 3rd IUI was FIVE times more than for the first 2 IUIs so the vitamins definitely seemed to make his sperm stronger. His total number in the initial sample was about the same, but a lot more survived the sperm wash and the progression of the motile sperm was marked good vs okay/poor progression.
