R/R:
Rant: I'm just wanting AF to hurry up and get here so I can get my disappointment/grumps out before I go to the in-laws' and my mother's house tomorrow. I woke up at midnight with some cramping, but they had subsided by the time I woke up this morning (4 am), so I may be waiting a day or so.

Rave: Nothing to rave about right now! :P I'm just feeling very GRRR right now.

Testing: another BFN today. whomp, whomp. WFAF at this point. (also, I had another no lines/invalid one?!)

R/R: I'm up early bc I have to give a final exam early early--yet it's torrentially downpouring/thunderstorming & there's a flash flood WARNING in my area til 8am (when the final starts...) The parrish schools where my uni is have closed, but uni has said n-o-t-h-i-n-g. LIKE, great. I'm pissed off bc I'm in a rock & a hard place--do I go to school as planned, risk the bad weather & give my final? Or do I cancel it 1.5 hours before it's supposed to start--it's the LAST DAY of finals week & grades are due MONDAY so I don't know what I'd do about factoring the final into the grade? I am sure some students were banking on it! AND what if I give it (which is likely the choice I'll make) & students don't show? Can I really blame them? This is the university's fault for saying NOTHING & I'm pissed off. ETA: There was just a ground strike of lightning right on our street it sounded like immediately followed by thunder that both made me jump out of my chair. yay.

@kbrown2385 Strawberry picking sounds awesome. I've been craving fruit smoothies all week (already made one today), so i could DEFINITELY restock my strawberries. Crossing my fingers that the in-laws have fresh ones waiting for me on their farm this weekend!

I just started spotting, so I think I'm probably out.

@flowntheloop I found a field much closer to my house we may stop and go picking at today. The one my friend wanted to go to was about an hour drive with a ferry ride involved and that was just too much for me today. I have little motivation for a huge day trip lol. Sorry about the spotting 😔

R/R: DH and I have been doing yard work the past few days and it's really starting to look nice! We even planted a lemon tree. I've always wanted one! I'm excited to see it grow

@kagesstarshroom ugh! What a gross morning! Your school needs to communicate! Is there any way you can reach out to students to postpone the exam? Boo at your chart for being misleading. You deserve some chocolate or something! 🍫

@kbrown2385 oooh!! Strawberry picking sounds fun! I've never done that before. Is there a farm you go to or do they grow wild near you? We get tons of BlackBerry bushes around so we pick those but I'd rather have strawberries! 🍓

@peppyj9 there’s quite a few farms around here that grow. My friend wanted to go to one that is an hour away plus a ferry ride. I wasn’t into that today and found on about 10 minutes from my house. That seems more doable to me lol. I hope you lemon tree grows well! I’d love to have fruit trees someday. Growing up we had wild raspberry bushes grow along side my parents driveway and we loved picking those in the summer.

@bows22 @peppyj9 Thanks for your suggestions/empathy! However, I would have had to rewrite the final to make it a take home one--and then would have to give students a certain amount of time to take it. With grades due Monday, that puts all of us in a bad position. If some of my students don't show (I'm on campus now, more than half of them are here) I will have to figure something like that out.

@kbrown2385 Strawberry picking sounds fun! I had a zero motivation day yesterday, though, so I feel you. Leaving the house helped me not think about impending testing, though? So I recommend it.

@shamrocandroll lolz that's what I often mean by "going out" as well.

@kbrown2385 yes, 10 minutes away is much more doable! That's pretty cool! I'll have to see if that's something we can do in my area. As a side story, DH told me when he was a kid his mom took him and his siblings strawberry picking. Afterwards they stopped at the library but DH didn't want to go in, so he waited in the car. While waiting, had a strawberry. He said they were so delicious he ended up eating them all!! He said his mom was SOOO mad 😅

@peppyj9 that’s hysterical! I ate quite a few myself and got way too many. I can’t be left on my own when I pick fruit. I have too much fun and pick way too much. Guess ill have to make strawberry shortcake tonight. I’m sure dh will be disappointed 🤣.

@kbrown2385 whoa!!! You got a huge haul! I'm sure YH will be so disappointed 😆 kind of makes me wonder just how many strawberries 12yr old DH ate in one sitting 😳
