Hi Everyone, I was wondering if any of you has experienced a drastic change on your numbers? I had a test on the month of my 36 birthday. My FSH was 7.2, the AMH was 2.15 , AFC was 18 We did an IVF 9 months later which was unsuccessful. I had a poor response to the meds and so we ended with one embryo that did not stick. On the month of my 37 birthday ( Jan 2019) , I got a very different picture of my numbers. My FSH was 11.44 and the AMH was .97, AFC 9, LH 3.5 (LH was normal) so I went from the Doctor telling me not to worry that my numbers were great to I am bordeline and slightly low in only one year. Has anyone experienced a change like this ? what are the chances of getting pregnant with this numbers? we will start an IVF in 2 months( probably the last one because of money) I am feeling very stressed and also angry at the clinic because they did not run the tests again before the IVF ( 9 months after the first tests) . Now I think that my low response makes sense since the dosis was too low for my current numbers. I also told the doctor several times that I had Perimenopause symptoms such as night sweats, hot flashes, low libido , hair loss etc he said that was not possible because of my numbers!!! thank you all for your help and insight in advance
Hi @Knottie6ae57d064dfa7848...I just saw this post but wanted to respond. I actually had a situation where my AMH swung the other way in a year so maybe this can help if you haven’t gotten any other answers yet?
But I had found out that last year before my first IVF cycle that my AMH was .71 (I am 31). My clinic never even told me, I only found out at my new RE when they were going over my previous bloodwork. I was so upset. Anyway, I made some serious changes and when I got retested a few weeks ago before I started stimming it had gone to a 5.7. Everyone is still kind of at a loss at that change, to the point where they think the original number must have been a lab error but I do think what I did really helped changed that number.
From January 1 2019 to now when I got it retested, I took DHEA, Vitamin D, Prental with Folate, CoQ10, DHA, and adopted a mostly keto diet.
Of course, everyone is different so I would talk to your doctor about those supplements and if they are OK for you but I think they really helped me. I also got more eggs fertilized and more embryos this time around too. GL!!
Thank you for your response. It is great to hear that you had more embryos this time! It gives me hope. I actually also made some of the changes you mentioned ; I started taking DHEA 25 three times a day, COQ10 in ubiquinol form, vitamin D , vitamin E , melatonine, the prenatal with folate and R alpha lipoic acid. I also increase the amount of proteine I eat, and decreased carbs ( but didn’t do the whole keto diet). I am starting to stim tonight . I was a little concerned that the literature says that you should be in these supplements between 3-4 months . I took them for 10 weeks . I hope it is still helpful. Thank you again !
@Knottie6ae57d064dfa7848 10 weeks is still almost three months - so that's great!! Have they rechecked your bloodwork since? Good luck with stims, I'll be thinking of you...wishing you the best
I was planning to recheck my numbers right before starting the IVF but it seems that because I was on the pill , the numbers would’t be accurate. I went for the first bloodwork and ultrasound yesterday for the cycle but I dont’t think they ckecked for AMH and FSH . I will ask my nurse. Thank you so much for your support. I am crossing mu fingers that this is my last one! I wish you get good results and you get a positive soon !
Hi!
It has been so different from my first cycle. I am on day 10 of meds. I have 12 good size follicles ( at this point I had 3-4 in my last cycle). This protocol was more aggressive ( Lupron a week before the follicle stimulants - 300 U gonal F and 150 menapur). However , I also think that the supplements I took have helped.
I don’t think I got another test for AMH /FSH.The last one was in February 1st. Thats when I got the scary numbers( AMH .90 and FSH 12). In March I took the contraceptives that’s why I don’t think they run them in April before my cycle started (fortunately I had started the supplements since January 10) . how about you ? Have you getting any pregnancy test yet? You must be very nervous and excited !! By the way did you screen your embrios? I am nervous about it .. we decided not to do .
I am sorry.. I didn’t notice of course. Yes ! 12 is good for me. I got excited yesterday because they said that I might trigger today or tomorrow. Today they told me it might be until Saturday . We are paying meds out of pockets so It stinks . how about you ? Are you doing a cycle now? Is it your first one?
I will have to go to the ultrasound - bloodwork in morning. The doctor said that very likely today is the last day and will retrieve on Monday. Good luck to you in this cycle! Yazmin
Hi!
I got the retrival on Monday. 8 out of the 12 fertilized. Tomorrow I will have the third day report. My progesterone is elevated so it seems we might have to freeze and do a FET. It very disappointing because we have spent so much money in th last month that we might have to wait like 4 months to do the FET . RE said that if we go ahead and transfer our chances go down significantly. how about you? What are you in the IUI?
That is wonderful that 8 fertilized I’m hoping your day 3 report was great news as well.
I thought high progesterone was a good thing? I take progesterone starting 3 days after IUI to bring my levels up and encourage pregnancy. That’s so strange how it can be too high as well
Thanks. We actually haven’t had a report at all. They said they don’t know anything until day five ( tomorrow) . We decided that if we have one or two embryos , we will freeze. If we have a third, we will implant one . So we’ll see ! About the progesterone .....on the day of the trigger, th progesterone should be under 4 . The ideal number is under 2. If it is higher ,It means that you body was prepared for implantation like two or three days earlier. So by the time they put the embryo it might be too late. You are right there are also issues if you have too little... It is exciting you are having th IUI tomorrow!! Good luck to you!! Hopefully this is the month for us.

With your last AMH test, do you know what your FSH was?
I’m really hopeful you are having a great response right now!

I am doing an IUI combo cycle. Just one of many we’ve done since 2008.
Good luck to you in this cycle!
