1) I was super brave, and injected myself with the nasty medicine this week!!!
2) I was feeling overwhelmed, and so I made lists of things to do. A page long for each of the last few days, and it felt great to cross things off, and get things accomplished! (Even if some of the things were "shower" haha.)
3) I've been sleeping better the last few days. Less insomnia. I'm able to wake up realizing I have to pee, and roll over and ignore it haha.
Oo! And I've come up with a bunch more! It's super neat how thinking positive can make you think MORE positively!
4) TMI warning: I totally dressed up a lacy little outfit and lit candles as a surprise for DH last night. Yay for finally being cleared! It's a good week 😉
5) I found a second hand jogging stroller on sale on Kijiji (dunno if you guys have that in the states. Like Craigslist but with less of a creepy reputation). It's like a $500 stroller, and we got it for $50!
6) I made $375 at our garage sale this weekend!
7) I was also productive making phone calls and booking appointments (which is tough for me. I get anxiety about making calls). So I've got my first haircut in... 18 months booked. Booked a physio appointment, AND booked DH and myself in for a couple's massage for our anniversary this weekend!
8) oo! AND I organized/coordinated/planned get togethers and meal plan for both our mothers for mother's day celebrations.
@chillycanadian Yay for a winning week! Especially #4...you are a stronger woman than I after waiting those many months!
My win for the week is that my parents will be purchasing our nursery furniture! They told me they would buy the crib, but I found a set at Costco that came with the dresser/changing top PLUS all the extra parts to convert the crib to a toddler/full size bed. I wasn't sure of their budget, so I offered to pay half, but they surprised me by saying they would cover the entire cost! Here's the set for reference:
@chillycanadian wow! You go lady! I found a citi mini gt double stroller on Facebook marketplace... for $10! It just needs a power wash but everything else is in perfect condition!
1) I’ve been powering through a few chores lately. Got tons of laundry done last Friday, vacuumed a little yesterday. I also ordered hangers for the boys’ closet so I can start washing and putting away all the clothes my friends are handing down to me.
2) Indiana changed the school cut-off birthday from Aug. 1 to Sept. 1!!! I had been super stressed that I wouldn’t have the option of sending the boys to kindergarten when they’re 5, and that they could miss the cutoff by days. So now there’s zero worry (unless the state changes it AGAIN, but I don’t think they will).
3) DH took the morning off work so I didn’t have to wrangle the toddler at my US / appt today. That also allowed me to hang out with a few friends this morning toddler-free...which is sooo much less stressful than when I’m with the toddler!
You ladies all sound like you are doing great! My win is on behalf of DH this week. He finally got his slides approved by his adviser, and all the professors on his committee to agree to a date! He's submitting the form today to scheduled the committee meeting that is the next step in his PhD program. (This is to get his thesis topic approved. Once the committee approved his thesis topic, he will be considered a PhD candidate, and can start working on his dissertation.)
I had a SUPER productive day at work today! First one in a while. Which is amazing because yesterday I contemplated staying home because I was so tired and sore.
I cleaned out a pile of mail that had been piling up and found a reimbursement check for $100! And, then I spent that at Nordstrom on panties for me (I know they’re expensive but hanky pankys are my fav) and clothes for baby girl
Finally went and looked at the 3 kid car (compared the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna) - and got them both to quote me a fair price on my trade in! Can’t wait for more space
We bought a new truck on monday. Nice roomy back seat for a little.
I was tired yesterday but managed to drag myself out of bed and take a 90 minute yoga class, and swim for 20 minutes. Also changed my name at the bank.
Tired today but I'm up and going to the DMV.
My days are mostly not about packing in a ton of things but making each day meaningful in some aspect.
Following up on my earlier post, since I can't find this week's "why am I crying." DH just forwarded me a proof of the announcement for his committee meeting, and I went into the bathroom at work, and just started crying happy tears. I know he still has a long way to go, but he's made so much progress, and I'm so proud of him.
I got my hair cut today! First time in a year and a Half! Yay!
(I think she probably took more off than I wanted But she gave it a nice little curl! So now I'm sitting here, all pretty, but husband just left for work 😂)

I had ice cream for lunch today. I call that a win. Also, the nursery is now cleaned out and ready to be painted.
