Upcoming Appointments: growth check u/s tomorrow as part of the GD investigation to see what's the cause of my 5cm-too-long fundal height. I'm hoping the midwife just screwed up and my fundal height isn't actually huge....bc comparing to other bumps my gestation I don't feel like Im over a month ahead

How are you feeling?: generally good. Baby girl has changed movement patterns and now early morning is her big movement time. Im trying to get used to it bc before she'd have smaller movements more regularly, especially in the evenings. So I've freaked out before bedtime the last 2 days being like "I haven't felt her at regular time!" But I'm realizing now she's picking a NEW regular time.

GTKY: are you a country mouse or a city mouse? I like to be in the country when I can, but I've lived in cities recently (biggest city in Scandinavia for 4 years now and 2 years in a bigger city in the middle east before that). The cities don't feel like cities to me though bc we choose not to live down town and find a place with as much green space as possible.

How are you feeling?:
pretty good. I swear I never got 2nd trimester energy though. Either I’m just super lazy or I can legitimately blame pregnancy for being so tired all the time.

Rants/Raves:
we’ve officially hit viability! Breathing a huge sigh of relief that god forbid baby girl comes early she would survive at this point.

Country girl for sure. I love visiting cities but I prefer the space of being in the country.

@BigBadWolf12 I didnt think you looked any bigger than me in your HDBD photo, so I definitely think it was a mistake!

@newmamakt So with you on being relieved that baby could survive in the outside world in the absolute worst case scenario.

How are you feeling?:
Really great. We’ve been in Montana for a cousin’s graduation, and all the walking and fresh air has been great.

Rants/Raves:
Not a rant or a rave really, just a random. A friend just had her baby at 37 weeks, and it just hasn’t occurred to me that the baby may come early (I’m trying to mentally prepare for 42 weeks...), so I’m starting to feel a little more sense of urgency to get things done (crib put together, classes, hospital pre-register) in the next few weeks.

City mouse! I was raised in a small-ish town in AR, and I never want to live in a small town again. We live in a high rise downtown where we can walk to work, restaurants, etc. and we LOVE it

@heml growth scan showed baby girl is measuring on par with my fundal height measure that's 30-31 weeks

I'm not hopeful of passing the 2-hour GD glucose test on thursday

Too many- 3 on the 20th. The joys of specialists.

How are you feeling?:
Occasionally, the hormones turn me into a super grump, like today at work. Thankfully, that ended once I got home and I'm in a super good mood now! Also, it's definitely getting harder to chase and play with my 17 month old DD.

Rants/raves: 18 more days of school!

A bit of both. I enjoy the quiet of the country and the convenience of the city. I guess you could call me a suburban mouse.

Upcoming Appointments: 5/21 regular OB appt. Oh and I have to do my GD test this week! The orange drink is just sitting on my desk taunting me.

How are you feeling?: A little better but not great.
Oh! I officially feel like a whale. I feel like I'm the size of a blimp. Probably because I have been eating my feelings for over a month, but it suuuucks.

Rants/Raves: We really need to get a move on with the nursery. It stalled out because of life and now I'm super stressed out about it. It's also a room we haven't used since we moved in really other than for storage so with my allergies I can only spend about 30 seconds in there before I start sneezing like crazy.

@newmamakt - I don't think I got the 2nd tri energy boost either. I honestly felt better my first tri - I had very few symptoms and had the energy to work out, so I guess it only makes sense it would go downhill for me.

@heml - I've heard Montana is beautiful. I'd love to go out there for a trip.

GTKY: are you a country mouse or a city mouse? I always thought I was a city mouse, but we moved out to what I call the country a couple of years ago and I didn't expect to love it as much as I do. We're still only about a 40 miles from the city, so I guess I'm not entirely out of the city (yet).

@BigBadWolf12 I haven't had a fundal height measurement yet, but I'm pretty sure I look bigger than your HDBD pic. I am also nervous about GD because I've been on steroids for my asthma and I'm feeling huge. We'll see! Good luck on Thursday!

How are you feeling?: Tired and nauseated again, but good most of the time!

Rants/Raves: I finally got the nursery cleaned out and I'm ready for the painters. They told me it would be next week, but I emailed yesterday to get a date and still haven't heard back. I'm a planner and I need to know these things.

GTKY: are you a country mouse or a city mouse? I like both, but now that we have a kid I appreciate the suburbs and living in a less crowded area.

@Mkrel do you have a glucose test coming? When do they start the fundal heights? That makes me feel better bc glucose test isn't a standard test here, they only do it if there are other risk factors that present so I felt "late to the game" when finally starting the GD investigation, but probably just because so many Americans start it at 24 weeks as part of standard checks and it's mostly Americans in her so it skews my view

I've been paying attention to other people positing and it seems like there's a huge range on when the glucose test is done....24 to 29 weeks. So that also made me feel better. I'm just feeling the time crunch bc I want to be able to travel in less than a month 😬 so I started loosely following some guidelines in case it gives me a head start on getting the potential GD under control.
