December 2019 Moms

SCH

So I was bleeding on and off for 7 days yet my numbers were doubling and baby was growing. It was the most emotional week of my life. I thought baby had passed about 4 differnt times.

Finally at this past Monday's U/S they found a bleed next to the pregnancy and I was diagnosed with SCH(subchorionic hematoma). I have never even heard of this until now and have been doing a ton of research. I went a full 3 days without bleeding or clotting which was great. Hoping it stays that way and dissolves on its own.

I had a follow up scan today at exactly 6 weeks 0 days and we heard a beautiful heartbeat at 122bpm. I cried ny eyes out.

This is going to be a crazy pregnancy if I keep making it. I was given a 50/50 chance that this baby is going to make it but I am holding onto hope.

Any uplifting SCH stories would be wonderful to hear.
Always hold on to hope ❤

Re: SCH

  • You are not alone with SCH! Sunday night at 8 pm, I started getting cramps, and almost instantly started bleeding. A lot. And it wouldn't stop, only got heavier, until Monday afternoon. I called the doctor office Sunday night and was told to rest and come in, in the morning. So I did. I really thought the worst.

My first appointment around 6w, I was told there's a small implantation clot next to the sac and it should resolve on its own. Not really much more into it. Didn't think much of it.
Second appointment which was just the 24th, it wasn't mentioned again.

So when I went yesterday, I was so glad, but honestly completely shocked, when I was shown the baby and the heart beat. But the clot had doubled in size!
I was told not to do anything strenuous, no exercise, no heavy lifting, don't continuously go up and down steps, be careful with my kids. No sex or stimulation, as it's right behind my cervix.

We have to keep a close eye on it, so I go back in a week, and a week after that. And I was told to expect more bleeding.
But reading up on it, it can get very scary and risky.

I hope we make it thru this just fine, and it both resolves itself.

At 7 weeks my hematoma is gone! I am honestly still in disbelief.

    Hope all is well ❤

@missmarissa711 I'm so glad to hear yours is gone!!

I've been taking it as easy as possible with two little ones lol. I go back Monday to see an update.
  • I just got diagnosed with a small sch at my 8 week ultrasound 2 days ago. Baby is doing fine. I never had any bleeding or spotting before the ultrasound so had no idea it was there. Now I am having brown discharge....I assume it's from the SCH or from having a transvaginal ultrasound and the cervix being sensitive but still makes me nervous. Going to call the nurse line and see what they say.

@Spartanrd4 Yeah it was mentioned at an earlier appt to me, but no bleeding then, so I didn't think much of it. Then a week later, I was shocked.
I'm not saying don't take precaution, but it could very likely be due to the sch.

I had my follow-up yesterday, and it got a bit smaller. Not really bleeding since, still have to take it easy and hope it'll dissolve. Baby is doing good, and all my levels are good to.

@LM1007 yeah they said the spotting was normal from the sch and as long as it was brown or pink and not red to not really be concerned. It pretty much stopped at the moment so just going to take it easy. They don't seem to want to follow up on it but I'm getting another ultrasound at 12 weeks so we will see what it looks like then.
