Anterior Placenta

Looking for a little reassurance from a mama that has had an anterior placenta now (or in the past). This is my second pregnancy and we had our anatomy scan last week and found out my placenta location.. will my daughter and husband be able to feel the baby move at all during this pregnancy? Will I be able to feel and see baby kicks? Kinda bummed because this is my last pregnancy. Have a doctor appointment next week and was planning on asking all the questions.. but can’t wait.  ❤️

Re: Anterior Placenta

  • Had one with DS and have one now. It’s pretty common. By now with DS (19.5 weeks) I felt many, many kicks. I don’t with this one- more global movement (big side to aide changes). But I think this one isn’t a kicker. With DS my stomach eventually started dancing and everyone could see and feel it. No worries - they get too big to let a little cushioning block their play!

That said, I had anterior last time and have one again this time.  I second the post above - you will feel it eventually, it will just be later.  I think an upside is that in the late stages when it would otherwise get kind of intense the kicks and punches are more muted than what my non-anterior friends dealt with.
  • My first pregnancy with my daughter and now this one with twins I have an anterior placenta. With my daughter it took a long time to feel her move but you will. She would tap dance on my ribs all day. I am hoping since there are two this time I will be able to feel them sooner.
