Trying to Get Pregnant

GTKY Wednesday 5/1

What’s a weird guilty pleasure you have that little to no people know about?

@brookert615 DH and I play Pokemon Go (used to play Pokemon on gameboy too), along with several of our friends. Sometimes we are pretty into it, making sure to do the special events on Saturdays and such. Other times we go a while without playing.

  • I used to love watching Yu-Gi-Oh in college. I mostly kept that secret because my mom would call me immature for watching something meant for kids.

I'm also guilty of being part of a FB fan group for a podcast with hosts (and fans) whom most definitely 100% lean in a particular political direction while I consider myself to be in the middle (I agree with things on both ends). The podcast content isn't political, but it's very entertaining to hear and read their very rage-y POVs on things. I don't dare comment that I grew up in a family that very much leans the other way.

  • @brookert615 WE SHOULD BE FRIENDS ON POKEMON GO.

Ummmm, AFM, I think ppl would be surprised at the amount of TV I watch--which I take pleasure in & it makes me feel guilty.
  • @m6agua Hahah yeah! Same!

@inthewoods23 I can totally see that being entertaining!

@kagesstarshroom LOL! Yes please (check out the spoiler for my trainer code bahah.) You do whatever makes you happy. To be honest most people that tell me they don't watch TV are usually glued to their phones anyways!

    Edit: stuff.

  • Dh and i’s Tv watching consists mostly of YouTube videos. We mainly just watch people play video games. There’s a few actual tv shows we watch but it’s only when we catch up with 3 or 4 episodes at a time. GoT is the exception.

Personally, I love watching Dr. Pimplepopper on YouTube. Sometimes I watch it before bed to help me fall asleep. It’s gross but I find it so relaxing.
  • @kbrown2385 not going to lie, I have always enjoyed watching other people play video games! There's a whole series of videos of Hank Green playing Pikmin. It's nice because it's entertaining and not totally mindless!

  • @inthewoods23 it’s super relaxing at the end of the day when Dh and I can just hang out for an hour or two.
  • I watch "Drunk Disney" which is a YouTube series where people drink and comment on Disney movies. I also play Disney Tsum Tsum.
  • :goes and searches for drunk Disney on YouTube:
  • There's a YouTube series called Drunk History too! I've watched maybe 1 episode of it, but I'm told it's good.

There's also a lot of YouTubers that do like MS Paint art to animate and explain history, etc. and other storytelling.

@kbrown2385 ... a good friend of my BFF is one of those people that makes & makes $ off of those video game youtube videos, which I do not understand. I do like video games, but like, old school ones? & MH hates video games (& skateboarders. he cracks me up. he has this, like vitriol for such random things.) Anyway. I am glad to know there are people who watch those vids!

@brookert615 Request sent! I have a different user name over there, but it also starts with K! So the end of the semester is nearing, and I find myself playing PG most around the time immediately following the semester. My bag is LOADED full bc I have the "count the miles I walk even when the app isn't running" thing on & they keep rewarding me w/ a TON of poke balls & I haven't played enough to get my bag down, so I won't be able to accept a gift from you for a while, haha, but I'll send you one once I get back into it, I'll accept yours and send another!!l

    ETA lol spelling

  • @kbrown2385 I watch the Dr Pimple Popper videos too!  I don't know if it's because I miss being a nurse or if I'm just twisted.

  • I play this castle fighting game on my phone because DH was into and spending a ton of (his) money on it, and I just wanted something to do with him. We've been playing for well over a year now.

When I was in college I was super into those cheesy Disney Channel movies. I never was allowed to watch them at home, so I did it at college. I never let any of my friends know.

@b_1029 - haha omg that is hilarious!
The Bachelor/Bachelorette and the "So Many Thoughts" Instagram account where this girl analyzes the royal family's clothes.
Also Facebook/Linkedin/Instagram/etc deep-dives on random people I grew up with just to see what everyone is up to...without, you know, actually being in touch with them. :#

@celticknotfire I was never a nurse so it’s because we are twisted hahaha. I’m super interested in medical stuff though, so I’m sure that has something to do with it.

  • @marebear15 have you seen the Descendants?  I watched it because my niece was a fan but it was actually a pretty good movie.

@kbrown2385 there's an ER doc that has some really good videos that are very informative too!

  • I feel like I’m very invested in the Kardashians. I have the App ‘hayu’ which I pay 5$/month for just to watch them unlimited lol and follow them on Instagram and Facebook.

I love the Dr. Pimple videos! Also, I'm really into those ASMR videos. DH thinks it's super weird, but they're really relaxing! But to be clear, the over sexualized "ear licking" ones are gross. I just like watching/hearing people tap on things. 🤷‍♀️

@marebear15 I'm still super into those cheesy Disney movies.. and I'm 35. At this point, it's not even a secret, everyone knows my love for kid shows 🙃
  • @whitealbum29 - I love SMT!!

@celticknotfire - No, I must have missed that movie.
  • @marebear15 - I sat on my couch and watched her whole live event on Monday night on my phone! I feel like her Instagram is a TV show I watch.
  • @peppyj9 LOL! ASMR videos are so weird, but I do like wood carving, hair brushing and the japanese garden/sand scooping!
