Hey ladies ! I’m a first time mom-to-be through IVF, on my 3rd trimester (almost 30wks) and I have a bit of anxiety wondering when I will go into labor. Mostly because I want my immediate family (mom, dad and 2 siblings) to be in town for our baby’s birth but they live out of the country (about a 4.5hr flight). We’re having a little boy and he will be my parent’s first grandchild so we are all very excited

At the moment , they are planning to be in town about 8 days prior to my due date (7/7), just in case he comes early. I am very low risk and it’s my first delivery so technically there’s more chances of him being born after his due date. However, after talking to many friends, a lot of them went into labor several days before their EDD !! All of these friends got pregnant naturally so I wonder if that’s why their due date was way off to begin with. Since most of us here know the exact date when our embabies were transferred/implanted, I feel like our due dates should be more accurate. So, would like to hear some of your experiences from the IVF mommas that have given birth already or if it’s someone you know too ! I feel like it will give me a little peace of mind to help plan the trip for my family. Thank you for you help !!

I would imagine your OB will be keeping a close eye on you in the next few weeks. I would go over those concerns for sure. If for some reason your little one does come before your family is here, my best advice would be to just enjoy the extra bonding time you will get as a family of 3 bc you will never get that time back. In some ways sharing it with just your husband, you and the baby could be a really special time for the 3 of you. That's how I felt at least.
