Gentle yoga on Monday. She does a lot of lying on the stomach stuff, which I have to modify obviously, but child’s pose is not super comfy so I end up doing a lot of tabletop and cat pose.
I made it to Orangetheory at lunch yesterday after having to cancel my Tuesday class for a work meeting.
This is weekend will be lots of sitting around because I’m judging gymnastics. I agreed to it before getting pregnant, and I’m really regretting it. Will have to remember to get up and walk around a lot between vaults.
@heml - sorry you got roped into judging - maybe it could be fun depending on the age of the gymnasts? I frequently make commitments that I know I'll regret.
Made it to the gym twice this week - was hoping for 3x before the weekend, but I haven't been sleeping well. I'm anxious about work and the baby coming and my brain just won't turn off.
Loving my weekly prenatal yoga class and I’m looking forward to the summer when I can squeeze into my schedule a second weekly class. I got my daily hikes in all week, though I had to shorten a couple because we had abnormally high temperatures for a couple of days. Also as I get pregnant-er (totally a word) it’s like gravity is acting more strongly on me lol. I wonder if it makes sense to transition to a less uphill-intensive daily hike, but I feel like when I do there will be no turning back.
I’ve been fantasizing about swimming a lot this summer. I live near a big university campus and they have several pools you can get day passes to as a non-student/staff (I’m an alum but that doesn’t count) (some $20 and some $10) so I’m excited to go check one out to see if it makes sense for my waddly self to be in there with sporty students. The sad irony is that I work for another big university whose facilities would be free to me, but I work remotely and live too far from campus to use them (and the days I’m on-site are packed with meetings so I can’t work out).
I did so much walking but no official exercise. Ugh. I miss barre so much. My new schedule made it impossible - I usually go Tuesday and Thursday evening and Saturday morning but I now have evening class on Tuesday, group meetings after class on Thursday, and we were traveling the past 3 saturdays.
But! I get to go to barre today. I’m a little nervous because I haven’t done regular barre since March 30. I also am doing regular barre on Wednesday and a yin yoga on Friday. I will just have to take it easy and not push too hard. Starting the week of May 20, I’ll get to add back in my 2 prenatal barre classes per week and I can’t wait!
I wonder how long I’ll be able to do regular barre for?
I’m teaching a 6-week prenatal yoga class that started tonight! So prepping for that I’ve done a little more yoga than usual the last couple of days... but otherwise I’ve been a bum this last week! Only got 2 workouts in and walked the dog twice.
@sw1122 It was actually a super fun and easy weekend. I scolded myself for having a baditude going into it. I love gymnastics and seeing all of the girls so jazzed for their big state meet was awesome. Yay for making it to the gym two times!
@cato99 I’m looking forward to some pool-ing in a few weeks too. I feel like I may just google some good “water aerobics” moves and try some.
@heml, it wasn’t too bad! Muscle memory is amazing. She focused primarily on legs, which was hard but I survived and didn’t have too much soreness afterwards.
