Mine of course, is my job... they somehow want us to accomplish X amount of widgets by basically doing the least amount of work possible, but then rate us on it all being done at an extremely high level. It's just not possible. So we all get scolded for not completing enough work, but doing the work we are doing at too in-depth of a level, but then when they do quality control checks we're told we didn't do the work with enough detail. *sigh* F U management at my job...

My manager who took her sweet time filling our open positions and now our company is in a hiring “frost” so we can’t hire anyone now for our empty spots. This is after second round/ peer interviews last week. Another group on our team had a girl leave at the end of March and her replacement started yesterday...meanwhile, we’ve had these open spots on our team since October and February. Now my coworker and I get to continue doing the work of 4 people. COOOOOL

Eta still about my manager haha, but one of those open positions is a promotion I applied for and got denied, so it makes me doubly mad. Karma?

b_1029 Sorry! Why are jobs/managers so grrrr sometimes? I'm always like, How DID that person get that job? Do they have NO idea what they're doing? And/or how do they function with their head/thought process being just far brown nosed they cannot think for themselves or ever dissent?!?

@dpchickens I like mine as a person, but the longer I stay the longer I’m like ??? She never does anything to help professional development, as long as the work gets done who cares right? I know I should be advocating for myself but this is my first “real” job so f me for not knowing...if we had worked on “professional development” for the 6 months after the higher level girl left, I would’ve been in a much better place to move into her spot, but no...let’s hire someone outside the department whose manager has put in time and effort to get them working at a higher level. God forbid you try that.

Also, that sounds like such a crap situation. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don’t???

One is not supposed to complain about students publicly/online. Today and for the last day of class, in the research writing class I'm teaching, I gave my students a "Work Day"--they can work on anything they want during class, esp. if it's work for this class, but I said calculus HW or whatever, was fine too, and it counts as their being here. So far less than half of them showed up today. Like--what?! All you have to do is show up! And be where you normally are twice a week for 1 hour & 15 minutes! Attendance counts towards your (probably already dismal) participation grade! Ergh. So annoyed.

Bah-hahaha. I have so many today. Mostly MH's ankle being broken. I'm not mad at him because it's not his fault, obviously, but so frustrated that we have to wait A WEEK for his ortho follow-up. Also our IS department for taking effing forever to get my laptop repaired. I feel so lost without it. I need it for all of the data analysis I need to do and they're just like "(shrug) Soorry!" I AM IMPORTANT... FIX MY LAPTOP!

literally everything. I'm a ragey bitch bc of progestrone. My dog has a gimpy leg for god knows what reason. Work is HORRENDOUS this week.

I need my vacation home this weekend. and if AF shows, I'll be drinking heavily.

shamrocandroll On our extremely long trip back from Australia, the old guy in front of me kept farting and it smelt bad... THEN to 'fix' it and cover it up, he decided partway through the flight to pull out and spray aftershave or cologne or something to 'mask' it. *barf* I already had a headache that I'd just started getting rid of when he pulled that stunt! I told DH that if he did one more asinine thing, especially if it was smelly, I was going to complain royally to the flight attendant and ask to be moved. I just couldn't...

I'm so annoyed by everyone who keeps telling me "Hope you enjoyed your vacation" when I was off for one day yesterday so I could take my senior dog to the vet. She had a bad experience at her last visit where I went somewhere else for their 24 hour emergency clinic so it's a chore to get her to go now. A pup who once LOVED going to the vet is now in pure terror. I was there for three hours, she nipped at the vet, I spent $1000 on testing because she has a lump, and now the extra anxiety because my dog is my favorite "person" lol. SO NO BECKY, didn't enjoy my "vacation".

@brookert615 Sorry about your dog and the TWs who want to make you feel bad.

Mine is a contractor I work with who cannot seem to remember that the job of a contractor is to work for the people paying you. Everything is a fight because it’s not what the contractor wants. Like, we pay you. Maybe we should pay someone else so you don’t have to listen to us.

My TW is my MIL. She is being flakey. We had agreed that she would help us this upcoming weekend but already yesterday started coming in the questions, the texts........ Ugh. Can you be upfront for once please?

@b_1029 Sorry about that position and that you're still dealing with all the crap at work!!! Can you touch base with HR to see if they can do 360 reviews? My work does that and it's nice because our reviews have a chunk based off of our individual team's review of us.

@dpchickens That's so dumb. I'm sorry you have to go through all of that. Not to mention with such high expectations - it's inevitable to just burn out employees.

@nolemama24 Hopefully she can step it up and be able to help!

@dpchickens Ugh, one of the reasons I don't love flying is because the plane is pretty much guaranteed to smell like one giant fart... either that or someone wears too much cologne/perfume and gives me a horrible headache on top of my motion sickness.
