Assuming no complications. I am just wondering about when I can expect to have baby #2. It will a C-sections as I am not a candidate for VBAC. Haven't had my first appointment yet either.
My previous ones were scheduled within the week before my due date. This one is scheduled 2 weeks ahead. It's my fourth & my water always ends up breaking before my 39th week so they don't want to take any chances this time.
This will be my fourth csection, my 2nd and 3rd were done on my due date and the day before my due date. I am seeing a new doc this time and she would like to do my csection right at 39 weeks possibly a couple days after but doesnt want to wait anymore than that. I think it will depend on your doctor and how comfortable they feel and how your prior delivery went.
The norm seems to be 39 weeks. I was a week overdue with my first so I'm hoping to go 4-6 days after my due date with this one. She did say I can wait until I go into labor to go in. But I need to explore that option more.
My first was scheduled at 39w exactly (water broke a week earlier and didn't make it) and second was 39w4d, and I made it. Unless medically necessary it is usually 39w.
39 weeks is standard. Babies before this are considered "Early term" (37-38+6) and the standard as I understand it now is to wait until term, but before labor (if labor is contraindicated). I am hoping for a "miracle" vbac but not planning on it, so we are scheduled 4 days before DD and will go with whatever baby decides.
Re: How close to the due date are C-sections scheduled?
