I just started Nurture by Erica Chidi Cohen (avail on a amazon) and it’s so great. I wasn’t connecting at all to What To Expect and it was actually making me stressed out. Nurture has a much more holistic, emotional approach and includes mental exercises to help prepare new moms. I’m finding so much comfort and help from it!
Highly recommend Expecting Better by Emily Oster. I want facts and data, not some advice that’s somehow been told for years with nothing backing it up.
Last time I read the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. I thought it was pretty good. @anniemarie887 DH read Expecting Better and he really liked it. He’s very data oriented, so it worked well for him. I’m a big fan of the podcast The Longest Shortest Time. It focuses on all types of family relationships, not just parents and babies. It was started by a woman who had a traumatic birth experience and making the podcast was her way of working through the trauma.

The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin was great for my first pregnancy. DH really wanted to be as involved as possible, and we had planned a natural birth (which didn't end up happening) so it was a great resource for us both, though it is focused on the last few weeks/birth/postpartum period.
It may be a bit soon for this, but Ina May’s Guide To Childbirth was SO helpful in my last labor. I had a drug-free, beautiful labor, and I know a lot of that was due to this book.

I enjoyed the Business of Being Born on Netflix last time around too. I believe it’s still on there.
