STM of preemies - P17 shots?

I didn’t find this topic on here yet- is anyone a STM/more with a preemie? I’m having a consult on Monday for P17 shots and a cervical length u/s with MFM specialists. I pPROM’ed with DS at 34w4d and he was  born at 35w3d (I never went into labor). Just wondering if anyone has experience with this consult already or had a discussion on the benefits/risks.

    Well, I started my weekly shots in the booty today at 16 weeks if anyone else has questions or experiences to share. Only 19 more to go!

    @justhereforthemusic my doctor offered me the makena shots as well because I had a 35 weeker last pregnancy and have had another 8mm of my cervix taken in a top-hat leep since then. But I did some research and the makena website listed preterm labor and stillbirth as a possible side effect. Being an infant loss mom, the thought of stillbirth scares the living crap outta me. I don't think I can deal with anymore tragedy. So I had a talk with my doctor about if the benefits of the shot outweigh the risk. At my 16 week appointment my cervix was surprisingly still nice and long, so we decided to not do the shots. I'll have another cervical length check at my anatomy scan in a couple weeks. My OB said I could decide to start the shots anytime before 22 weeks, but I likely won't unless theres a drastic change in cervical length at my next check. 

    Have you had any cervical length checks yet? Have you noticed any side effects of the shot? I hope all goes well for you!

    My OB recommended Makena for my 2nd pregnancy after having my 1st baby born at 36 weeks. I decided against it & my 2nd baby was born at 37 weeks. This is my 3rd pregnancy & they again recommended it but I have decided against it again.

    Thanks @flowerintherain and @knottiecaa788f0e201865b ! I had my 2nd shot today. Last week I noticed an immediate relaxation of my uterus which was amazing. It definitely lasted all week- even with a vacation with much walking. The shot made me a bit more tired but that was about it. So far, no pain when I get them and all good! Crossing fingers for a termie this time!

    i did have a CL length scan last week at 3.5cm and will have them every 2 weeks until 24 (I am 17 now). Since we don’t know why I pPROM’ed at 34 weeks last time apart from an “irritable uterus” I am interested to see how they look.
