How was your week? Were you able to fit in a workout or a long walk? How is everyone feeling?

Bonus: What's your favorite Taylor Swift song??!

I Orangetheory-ed twice this week, and the sides of my bottom are still sore from side lunges, so clearly I should be incorporating those more. My belly is getting bigger, so I'm definitely getting slower and having more RLP. Other than that, though, still feeling pretty good.

I'm a big T.Swift fan, so it's hard to pick a favorite, but I'll try. "Red" and "Wildest Dreams" are maybe my favs, but I also love "Back to December."

  • @heml I totally relate to the getting slower. I'm still so impressed by those that continue with things like Orange theory it seems pretty intense! Good for you!

I made it to the gym 3 times this week. Yay for hitting my goal! I missed my yoga class Monday, and was leaving work and headed in the direction of home, but when I got to the street I turned to go to the gym (I consider that a BIG win. lol) I just did some cardio and man it is a lot harder than it was a few months ago. I did my prenatal class twice this week as well.
I'm drawing a complete blank on any T.Swift songs... well now the only one I can think of is Shake it Off, but I wouldn't call it a favorite.

  • I'm not necessarily making it to the gym (LBH, I wasn't doing it much before we finally got preggo), but I am making more of an effort to be active - i.e. not sit in my chair for hours at a time - during the day and to try and take walks when I get home. At 21wk, I'm still about 8 lbs down from pre-preggo (though I started out a bit heavier than I'd like) so I feel like I'm doing all the right things to ensure baby gets what she needs and I don't just store everything else. I am planning to go back to the gym about 3 month PP, though, and am kind of looking forward to it.

I used to be more of a T. Swift fan, but haven't followed much lately. I still really like "Bad Blood" - especially the version with Kendrick Lamar (because duh!).

  • @heml I can’t imagine doing lunges right now!!

@Avrilmai Yay for hitting your goal!

@MamaK225 you’re doing better than me!  Except for my weekend runs, I don’t even get out for walks!

i was getting over a cold last weekend and only wanted to sleep so I didn’t run at all. My friend and I have 6 miles planned this weekend.

  • @Avrilmai @heml I’ve also definitely gotten significantly slower and need to take more frequent breaks.

I’ve gotten over my cold for the most part besides a cough, but I’ve used it as an excuse to skip the gym sleep in this week. Gym tomorrow and finally a run outside on Sunday because it’s supposed to 60 degrees!
  • I’m also getting slower in barre classes and I have been adjusting the intensity of my workout. I made it to 2 classes this week.

This week I managed to get 8-13 kms per day of walking in. We’re in London so the rest of the weekend will be the same.

I have been having super bad pubic and pelvic pain and it’s getting worse. It doesn’t hurt when I work out but walking is hard. I’m afraid it’s really going to start limiting my activity.

  • @Avrilmai One of the reasons I like it is that it's actually pretty easy to tailor to your fitness level. You can certainly make it as intense as you want! But, I'm just kinda doing what I can. The fun part is that elevated heart rate means that I'm basically doing very little as still burning the calories that I used to burn when I was putting in full effort pre-baby, HA! Girl, I'm with you just stepping foot in the gym is the victory, no matter how long you stay or how intense the workout.

@MamaK225 I really need to be better about getting out of my chair and walking around more during the day. Maybe I'll start setting alarms...

@purplg8r @sw1122 Hope y'all had great runs this weekend!

@AKuzReve Hope the walking around in London is helping your pelvic pain!
  • @heml - I've literally scheduled my entire life now; it's just too much pressure to *remember* things. Everything from "taking a walk loop around the building" to "finish 1L water, refill cup" to "bathroom." You'd think Bathroom would be more primal, but I notice if I sit motionless (i.e. getting work done @ the computer) then the urge doesn't hit me ... until I have to sprint.

We did get in about 3-4 miles of good walks this weekend AND I'm counting yesterday for several hours of cardio (I don't do a step counter, but if I did, I would venture to say I was in the 35,000-ish range) and light weights (lifting things in the 30-40 lb range). I did laundry from 11:30 to 17:00. Pulled all of DD1's "winter" clothes - and then mine - and put them in Rubbermaid totes and finally got through the mound o'clothes that was on top of the dog's kennel (i.e. were on the couch, folded, but didn't get put away), also washed the summer clothes that came in this weekend: I had expected DD1 to remain in 3T/4T that she was in last summer, but nope, had to buy a whole new wardrobe of 5T, 5, 6 - and washed, put those up. Not to mention the vacuuming, normal stuff, and managing Toddler while DH was outside, pressure-washing the fence and doing who-knows-what-else in the beautiful weather, child-free. If reincarnation is a thing, I *better* come back as a man so I can finally rest. I'm feeling some soreness today and a little RLP, but hopefully that'll clear up over the next day or so as I get some "rest" in my supportive work chair ... hoping that is enough of tackling outstanding things so that we can start on the nursery after Easter.
