Lgbt parenting legalities

With gay marriage being legal as long as it has now, I was wondering if anyone knows if second parent adoption is still a necessity? My son is due in 3 months and we are the only lgbt parents I know so I have nobody else to ask. We have a meeting set up with a lawyer, but I don’t want to have one on payroll if I don’t need one

  • @Knottie1434488733 depends on the state you deliver your child in. Do research ask a lawyer. Some say its still a necessity to be on the safe side.

  • Yeah I have a meeting with a lawyer this month. The state I live in just passed a law hindering regular lgbt adoption, like from agencies, but there’s no news or updates on second parent adoption since the passing of gay marriage.
