Hello, let me introduce myself first..
For the first 30 years of my life, everything was smooth and worry-free. I was my parents’ most beloved child, found my true love in college, and happily married him after graduation.
At work, I was my boss’s most valued employee. Whenever I was in charge of a project, colleagues would inevitably say, “Oh, then I’m totally at ease.” I was constantly named “Employee of the Year,” with generous bonuses every year.
Later, I started my own business. Within just three months, I had broken into the market and started making money. By the fifth month, I was earning twice my previous salary. Growth was steady month after month. Right when the business needed more hands, I serendipitously met an amazing partner, and the company reached a whole new level.
Really, it seemed like at every step, whatever I needed, a pair of hands would always place it right in front of me, just in time.
My Two Girls: Ellie & Mia
Meet Ellie, My Firstborn
In 2020, my husband and I decided to have a child. After trying for over a year, we finally got the news in 2021 that a little one was on the way. In 2022, we welcomed our first child, Ellie. She made me a mother.
She is utterly adorable—big eyes, rosy skin, chubby little hands. Every time I look at her, I can’t help but give her a kiss. She is pure joy, and I love her more each day.
But as a first-time mom, I faced unprecedented difficulties. The postpartum tearing wouldn’t heal, and the pain was excruciating. Clogged milk ducts made my breasts hard as rocks. The severe sleep deprivation… And what was even more crushing was that, with zero parenting experience, I was clueless when faced with her unexplained wailing, night terrors, refusal to nurse, constipation, diarrhea, fevers… I desperately searched online, longing for one accurate, truly useful answer!
It was during this time that I thought, once I make it through this “dark” path, I must leave a light on for other new moms.
And Then Came Mia
Ellie had just turned one when I got pregnant again. In 2024, we welcomed our second daughter, Mia.
Completely different from Ellie, Mia is a great eater and sleeper. Although she had her fussy moments in the first two months, starting almost from month three, she became super easygoing. She feeds on schedule, gradually sleeps through the night, loves her solid foods, and adapted quickly when I had to stop breastfeeding due to mastitis.
This made me realize just how vastly different babies can be! It made me even more determined to write about my experiences.
Why I Had to Start This Blog
The Catalyst: A Life Pivoted
After Mia was born, my business also began to decline sharply. I had no choice but to close it and become a full-time mom. My work no longer involves Excel and Word, but instead revolves around changing diapers, washing bottles, making baby food, and managing household chores…
This has been a monumental challenge for me. All my past achievements seem irrelevant now. Managing two young children has brought me a sense of frustration I’ve never known before.
The Daily Reality
They are always fighting over things. When one is in my arms, the other immediately demands to be held too. When I try to cook, Ellie wants me to read her a book. When I attempt to load the washing machine, Mia has a diaper blowout, and I must drop everything to change her…
By the time I finish all that, I see the cup of hot coffee on the table has gone cold again. And it’s not until evening that I remember, “Oh my goodness, the clothes are still in the hamper, unwashed!”
Of course, being a mom is filled with happiness, but that doesn’t negate how hard it is.
My Promise to You
Because I’ve walked this path myself, I won’t just tell you how joyful motherhood is, like many websites do. I want to share my real, unfiltered experiences so every new mom can find a “companion” here.
I want to tell you: you are not alone. What you’re going through, I’ve been there too. Your breakdowns, your helplessness, your moments of losing control—I’ve had them all. You don’t need to feel guilty. This is just a small, necessary stretch of the journey for every mom.
My Hope for This Space
I really want to share my parenting experiences—not just the warm, glowing moments, but to honestly document the pitfalls I’ve stumbled into, the tears I’ve shed, and the “survival wisdom” I’ve scraped together in utter exhaustion.
The Goal: A Mom’s Toolkit
I hope this blog becomes a “mom’s toolkit,” filled not with vague theories, but with:
- Practical Tips: Like how to quickly figure out why a baby is crying, tried-and-true methods for dealing with clogged ducts, or how to efficiently manage the daily grind with twins (or two under two) solo.
- Pitfall Avoidance Guides: Sharing the baby products I regret buying the most, and those “game-changer” parenting hacks. Letting you know which parenting anxieties you can let go of, and which principles are worth holding onto.
- A Community for Moms: I hope my stories connect me with more moms like you. We can cheer each other on in the comments, share our own tricks, turning the storms we face alone into a journey we walk together.
The Bigger Vision
My previous career taught me to analyze data, solve problems, and optimize processes. Now, I’m applying all those skills to this new “position” of Mom. I want to prove that a mom’s value is absolutely not confined to the home. The mindset, resilience, and creativity we built in our careers can shine just as brightly—perhaps even brighter—in this more complex, long-term “project” of raising humans, and can even be transformed into a force that helps others.
My hope is simple: that every mom who opens this blog can let out a sigh of relief and say, “So it’s not just me.” Then, she can find a bit of practical info, a dose of comforting solidarity, and return to her sweet, chaotic mom-life with a little more confidence and a little less weight on her shoulders.
This road? Let’s walk it together.

DH is acting like it's my fault our timing wasn't good because "we did it a lot" and I "should have told" him we had "to do it more". 1 - can't be fighting him and my body, too 2 - I don't see myself getting knocked up without correction of this LP defect anyway. No joke, *TW* there have been 3 PG announcements and 4 births posted in my FB feed this week. */TW*

R/R: rough start to the morning, hoping it is not a precursor of the weekend. I get to dig the extra mulch out of the flower beds tomorrow. Otherwise, no real plans. BIL and dh’s friend are coming over this weekend to help with house/barn projects again. Hoping I can sweet talk them in to doing something I want done. BIL was really sweet last week, apparently dh had told him I had been upset so he went out of his way to do something to cheer me up.
CS/Q: Logical me knows I am not 8 dpo, but there is a crazy side that says well, maybe you are.
@chichiphin Yay for possible O and getting back into the game!
I heard Kacey Musgraves’s song “Rainbow” yesterday and I almost lost it. The whole video is a TW for all sorts of struggles people may have namely depression from all different causes, but it also gives you an emotional release if you both need to cry (especially TTCAL) and to feel hope. It’s a beautiful song.

I’m not going to temp while camping this weekend anyway, I guess, but now I’m doubting my recent temps? Ugh. Discarded it for chart below.
CS/Q:
@inthewoods23: fx so hard for you. Remind me - you’re not on progesterone this cycle, right?
@holly321: I also go back and analyze my chart and pick out other possible O days, even when I realize it’s irrational.
CD/DPO: 19/8
Timing: -5, -4, -3, 0 (x2), 2, 3 {Probably not spot on as I don't due any ovulation testing and I'm just basing this on cervical mucus consistency.}

off all the things I wanted to get done and went for a mani/pedi yesterday. It was so worth it and something I’ll for sure be keeping up with.

@chichiphin FX you're ovulating and getting back on track!
@inthewoods23 Your chart looks great! I'd test Sunday so you can enjoy your weekend and look forward to it.
@holly321 Hopefully this morning is not indicative of your weekend and you get lots done.
@lcking82 Yeah, sounds like maybe it's time for a new thermometer. Have a great time camping!
@flowntheloop Enjoy your cardio and (hopefully) pollen free breathing!
@kbrown2385 I'm the same way! I hate being late and it stresses me out when someone else is going to be late - like I'm late by association or something. I'm sure YH appreciates your help.

Also, I saved that song on my Spotify playlist to listen to later. I can't risk a breakdown at work.
@chichiphin *TW* I ovulated pretty early after my MC. I still had HCG about a week after I started miscarrying and I ovulated a few days after that. I didn't test my HCG until halfway through my TWW, so I don't know how much I had, but I was expecting a longer cycle and got a short one.
Way to go for no spending this week!
@inthewoods23 - Oh that chart is making me jealous. Beautiful, beautiful! My hopes are so high for you.
@holly321 - I convinced myself that I was 10 dpo yesterday. Your mind can do crazy things, but those OPKs don't lie (unless you don't O, then they do lie).
What a sweet BIL! Is this YH's brother?
@lcking82 - Lol, I hope you aren't dead! I'd check the battery, maybe it's dying.
@flowntheloop - We got some rain yesterday too, and now it is so nice outside after a cool week! Hopefully you don't have as much pollen in the air now. (Ugh, just saw your next post, I'm sorry. Tree pollen affects me the most.)
@kbrown2385 - Look at you, wife of the year award for that! I'm glad you enjoyed your mani/pedi yesterday. That's something I need to do more often than once every other year.
AFM, I tested yesterday and it was a BFN, but it help me calm down and stress less. DH is at work all evening, so I was thinking about going to the beach and watching the sunset. It'd be a beautiful day to do that!
@ruby696 ugh I'm sorry YH seems to be nonchalant about it. MH is that way too - he tells me it should help me to relax lol
@kbrown2385 me too!! I'm the one always rushing out the door to be 5 min early to everything haha
@holly321 I'm hoping the weekend is better and you get a lot done around the house/barn

@marebear15 sorry for the bfn! Enjoy the sunset today. I always find it so relaxing. I used to get my nails done regularly and just have put it off. It’s time to get back to taking care of me again and thankfully dh agrees.
@ruby696 sorry for the bfn. I understand your frustration with yh. Hope he comes around for your sanity.
@flowntheloop hopefully the pollen gets over with soon so you can start feeling better!
@MrsVP614 sorry for the fight with yh. Sounds like he needs a swift kick in the ass. I will add that dh and I went through that as well at one point. @holly321 you are NOT 8DPO
@lcking82 if I have a doubt, I take my temp 4-5 times in a row and record the most consistent one.
@flowntheloop good luck with cardio!
@kbrown2385 you saved his day! I am also as confused as FF about your chart.
@MrsVP614 I hope you don't stay mad all weekend long. Go have a drink/food outside the house. Being in a different atmosphere helps.
@ruby696 this doesn't mean much. Temps could be back up tomorrow. Do your temps take time to go down or is it sudden?
@marebear15 wow, having the option to go watch the sunset on a beach sounds like a dream. Do it!!
@madcouplewithabox Enjoy getting your nails done.
@kagesstarshroom lol, what were you thinking about the siggy challenge? Although, I can't talk. I just realized there were random threads where you could talk about, well, random things!

@rikiteacup and @marebear15 I had a theory about the opks! Haha, I drink too much water and didn’t have a good sample. In my defense, they had progressed to close to positive and then didn’t, plus I missed one day, so clearly I could have missed my positive! Don’t mind my craziness.
@marebear15 it was one of dh’s brothers. enjoy the beach!
@rikiteacup I hope your dh has a smooth recovery!
@kbrown2385 that was sweet of you to help your dh. I am ridiculously ocd about time and hate being late for anything.
@marebear15 definitely NSFW because of all the feels. At first it makes me want to cry and then it makes me feel hopeful.
@rikiteacup Good news all around, but sorry that you fell!
@bobbyflies2020 Sorry for the BFN
@madcouplewithabox I definitely laid it out numerically so he couldn’t really argue with how much more I’m doing. Here was his response / attempt at humor instead of apologizing. Should be really interesting if we end up at an RE after the six month mark. I’m nearing the end of the fourth... He apparently schooled some guy at work when he corrected him about Fallopian tubes, but in reality he doesn’t know much about any of this. He thought temping was over the top at first, but he saw how it helped in the past and told friends about it and OPKs. He doesn’t know many people who have struggled though.
