How are you feeling?: huge, miserable, constipated, and sore.
Rants/Raves: I had a really good few days last week but now I'm back to being totally miserable and so tired. Extremely ready for July.
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? **TW** Besides the obvious of losing my baby or dying **End TW** my fears are having a car/side of the road baby, having to have all 4 boys in the delivery room (which is becoming more of a possibility), and then H not being there.

Upcoming Appointments: Mid April for the normal OB, sounds like I might be starting some "health coaching" via phone to address my "accelerated weigh accumulation in pregnancy" Gah. I was like, okay, I'll try it, but if someone makes me feel guilty or more stressed out, I'm outta there.
How are you feeling?: I feel like my energy TANKED this weekend. Terrible timing. I got like 4 boxes packed. Huge, achy, uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves: Signed the house papers this morning, keys tomorrow! Which is both a rant and a rave - very exciting, very overwhelming.
Questions: I posted this in a randoms thread also, but would you consider asking a MIL to spend one night a week with you to do two days of baby care? My parents have done that to some extent for 4 yrs now and it's been fantastic. I'm scrambling to figure out baby care, and now my in laws are moving closer and we'll have a real guest space... I can't decide if she'll drive me crazy or if I'll just be thankful to not be paying that $$$. Granted she's not specifically volunteered at this point, but husband and I were talking this morning and the idea of asking popped up. Thoughts?
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? Going too fast and having to take Margaret with us. Not liking my nurse, regretting not getting a doula the whole time.
Rants/Raves: ordered a new crib for the nursery after deciding to leave DS2 in his crib until he is ready to be done with it. Excited to finish getting the boys room put together and the nursery!
Questions: nope
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? Definitely not making it to the hospital in time. DS2 was born in 2 hours, so I worry that this LO will be quicker
@erynpdx I say if you are comfortable asking your MIL and you trust her, go for it! My MIL would never say yes to something like that, so if I were in your situation I’d milk it for as long as possible
Upcoming Appointments: Have to go do my glucose test this week. My provider is doing a randomized study where they assign you either a 1-hour or 2-hour test and guess who got stuck with the 2-hour test That means I have to do fasting and then sit around longer so I'm feeling annoyed about it.
How are you feeling?: Physically still really good. Emotionally a lot rougher. I'm starting to have a hard time with how my body's changing (even though I know rationally that it's totally normal and necessary) and I'm just feeling a lot more sensitive overall.
Rants/Raves: Feeling really happy about the midwife I'm seeing. She seems very practical about pregnancy dos and don'ts which has been a relief.
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? Not sure if this is my biggest fear but it's what comes to mind first. My husband has a hard time with anything medical related (like he literally passes out every time he has to get blood drawn) and I'm worried about whether he'll actually be able to be present and/or helpful at the birth. I already have my mom and sister that will be there so it's not so much about not having a support person so much as feeling bummed that he might not be part of that experience with me.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 10th - 25 weeks, 5 days
Baby is the size of a(n): prairie dog
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink
Upcoming Appointments: April 19th for growth US and GD test
How are you feeling?: feeling swollen! I’m uncomfortable and cranky all the time. Also lots of Braxton Hicks - wayyyy more than with my first pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: Rave, saw Us this weekend and really loved it! Rant, just want one day with my DS where he acts like an angel all day and I don’t have to repeat myself x 1000 or yell like a crazy person (wishful thinking )
Questions: does anyone else have trouble making mom-friends? I’m hoping once the kiddos are in school it’ll be easier, but maybe it’s my age too... lots of mom groups around here are soooo cliquey. We went to the park the other day and I felt so left out with all the moms at one table swapping gossip and being exclusive.
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? I am pretty nervous about the possibility of having to have an emergency c-section, or something even worse happening due to the marginal cord insertion (placental ubruption, etc), or even tearing really badly... recovery is no joke with stitches. I have sensitive skin and they itch so badly.
@mamahmh2 when I had my first son, I was so awkward trying to make mom friends. When he was about 6 months I joined an exercise group and just kept showing up and eventually found my people lol. It can definitely be very clique though
@nolemomma14 that’s me, Ms. Awko Taco. Are you the one who recommended stroller strides?? Was thinking of joining just based on your recommendation. I need some adult interaction now that I’m no longer working.
Upcoming Appointments: glucose test and OB appt on tax day.
How are you feeling?: large. I hate feeling large.
Rants/Raves: Kinda over the whole process right now. I just want to be normal me again!
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? Today, for some reason I got a lot of anxiety about the pregnancy and delivery, specifically, so today isn't s good time to answer this question.
I did sign up for the childbirth class at our hospital. We're going in on Saturday. Hopefully that helps with the anxiety.
Upcoming Appointments: April 23 for growth ultrasound + glucose test!
How are you feeling?: just a whole lot of “meh”. Tried to start weaning off bonjesta but have been nauseous the past few days and got an ocular migraine today..so back on it I go! Having bad round ligament pain that manifests in my tail bone region!
Rants/Raves: rant- Feeling large and like July will never get here! Rave- I have our latest ultrasound (24 weeks) on our counter so I see his little 3D face every morning and that makes my days start better!
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? Definitely tearing and honestly just the pain! FTM and boy am I nervous about that. Also nervous about breast feeding- latching and bleeding nipples! Ah!
@erynpdx I say go for it if you feel comfortable! I would have my husband broach the subject (my MIL is more likely to do favors if he asks )
my MIL said she’d watch our baby 3x a week when we first got pregnant...then at 16 weeks pretended like she never said it and said “I can’t commit to watching him every week (even for 1 day a week) I’m just too busy”. ...she works 2 days a week and is home the rest of the week so that makes sense.. hope you have better luck!!
Upcoming Appointments: Regular visit next Wednesday.
How are you feeling?: Back has been bothering me some at night and I had a nosebleed this morning. Otherwise pretty good!
Rants/Raves: Rant is that we have a leak under our kitchen sink and it's leaking a little into the basement. I told DH about it a few weeks ago and he just checked it out last night. We're not sure where it's coming from. He called his Dad and he came and looked at it and said he would call the plumber. I'm grateful for his help and everything, but sometimes I feel like my in-laws treat DH as if he can't do things himself. In his defense, he asked his Dad to text him the plumber's number, but his Dad was just like "we'll take care of it for you"🙄 I don't mean to be ungrateful, but he is 31 after all!
Questions: none right now
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? Oh my, you'd think by my third I'd have this down. But my first two were so traumatic, I have no idea what to expect with this one! I guess my biggest fear is either not making it to the hospital in time (my labors progress super fast, except for the pushing part). Or that my attempt at a VBAC will be unsuccessful. I feel about as nervous as I did with my first🤦🏼♀️
How are you feeling?: Blah. Worst symptom lately has been severe bloating during afternoon/evening. So uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves: My niece was born Friday!! Mom and baby are doing great. I am so excited to meet her in a few weeks. She's the first grandchild for my parents and my LO will be #2.
Rant: I had my 1hr glucose test yesterday and no one mentioned fasting beforehand, so I just ate whatever for breakfast without thinking, including some stuff with sugar. Anyway, found out I failed by 1 mg so now I'll have to do the 3 hour test Super annoyed. Hoping this was due to not fasting and doesn't mean anything.
Questions: Anyone else had to do the 3 hour glucose test? Did it make you feel lightheaded fasting and then drinking that crap?
GTKY: What’s your biggest delivery fear? I have anxiety, so, pretty much everything is on the table for this one. I don't think focusing on my fear is helpful so I am trying to stay positive instead.
@quinniebear I actually just asked my dr if the one hr is fasting and the answer was no. I believe when it’s not fasting it is best to eat protein and complex carbs. I had to do the 3 hr with my first. It made me feel awful and I puked. I’d ask your dr if 3 hr is fasting or not.
@quinniebear I failed the 1 hour for my first pregnancy and also did not fast. I only had eggs that morning, but even so, I do plan to fast this second time around for the 1 hour. You do have to fast for the 3 hour. I honestly didn't think the 3 hour was all that bad and I was happy when I found out that I had passed it.
@quinniebear it depends on the practice. I've had Dr's that preferred you to fast for the 1hr and others that were fine as long as you haven't eaten anything within the hour and didn't gorge on anything sugary. 3hrs are normally fasting.
I've had to do the 3hr with every pregnancy. This pregnancy I'll get to do it twice since I had to take it early. I only had GD with one kiddo out of 4 so far. As far as the actual GTT it made me feel about the same as the 1hr. Kind of hangovery, tired, and jittery however since it is a fasting one and I start it at 8/9am and don't get to actually eat until 11/12 I do get a little bit light-headed afterwards. For this reason I keep a light snack and drink in my purse or vehicle before I leave. Usually after eating that I'm good.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@quinniebear also I fail the 1hr horribly every single time. Lots of people fail the 1hr and go on to pass the 3hr no problem. It's more of a screening than an actual test. The 2 and 3hr are much more accurate.
Even if you do fail the 3hr just try to remember there was nothing you could have done. GD is like 99% hormones so even those who eat super clean and/or are slim can have it.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
@quinniebear my office doesn’t have you fast for the 1 hour test. I still try and schedule them first thing in the morning if possible, and wait to eat until it’s done. I hope you pass the 3 hour test!
@emills14 I think theoretically second labors tend to be faster than 1st labors. Your body has done this before so is more prepared than your first type of deal. For me it was true, but I’ve also had friends who have either had longer second births, or they were identical to their first. I’m sure a lot of it depends on baby’s position, whether or not your dilated when you go into labor, etc.
