    @scikap are you getting induced today?
    @bebesparrow are you ready for the big day ?
  • ahh, no updates from @kristimh80 yet! hoping induction went okay and you didn't have to do c-section!  anxiously awaiting your update (and thanks for kicking off this week even though you didn't have to!).

    • How far along / EDD? 29+5, June 5
    • How is everyone feeling this week? mostly good, getting more tired again. trying not to stress myself out with kick counts and fetal movement monitoring.  feel movement every so often, so tell myself it's okay.  definitely getting less frequent/erratic, so i assume much less room in there!
    • Upcoming appointments?  OB on thursday
    • Questions? @bkatp i was going to ask a similar question about sleep... but mine was about how many times you're getting up to pee each night?  i'm back up from 2nd trimester -- probably at least 3x/night... waking up every 90mins to 2 hours, kinda with my dream cycles. my dreams have been getting crazier and crazier. i had one where i put the baby on the counter to entertain herself... and then i "woke up" in my dream and she had managed to find her way to my bed unharmed.  also having more sexy time dreams, haha!
    • GTKY: How is everyone's nursery's coming along?  no nursery for a while... but one of my DH's friends did offer to give us their transitional crib, so seems like things are coming together slowly.  can't believe my baby shower is in two weeks!

    Jan 19 2018 - Fresh Transfer #1 one 5dt; BFP 1/25/2018; EDD 10/7/2018; MMC at 8w3d; D&C 3/6/2018
    May 16 2018 - FET #1 one 5dt; BFP with 4 betas (6.5, 24.3, 165.5, 2250) - EDD 2/1/2019; MMC at 6w; D&C 6/20/18

  • @northbeach3 I have had some crazy "sexy time" dreams too! so odd.

    @kristimh80 hopefully everything went well yesterday and you’re covering well with baby!

    @bkatp @northbeach3 sleep has been ok. It could be better. I’m able to knock out easily but I do wake up about every 2 hrs to use the restroom.

    • How far along / EDD? 30wk 6d; 5/29
    • How is everyone feeling this week? Good minus the horrible acid reflux that I’ve been having. I’m taking Zantac 2x/day and popping tums like candy! Oh and the SOB - even climbing into bed I have to take a little breather to catch my breath.
    • Upcoming appointments? Tomorrow with OB.
    • Questions? How are you deciding which pediatrician is best for your LO?
    • GTKY: How is everyone's nursery's coming along? No nursery, baby will be in our room for sometime and hopefully not in our bed! :)
  • @kristimh80 Thinking of you doll!! Hoping to hear baby news soon!  <3

    @northbeach3 @mrsyng I haven’t been sleeping so well because of gastritis mainly. I wake up with stomach ache middle of the night or to a grumpy or growling stomach. Taking panteprezol twice a day it’s helping a bit. Otherwise I get up to pee only once in the night. No crazy dreams yet, lot of rolling or turning around in the night as I can’t sleep on one side for long.

    @mrsyng I have started to look into pediatricians within 5 miles of where I live From last week. Yet to zero down on one
  • @mrsyng
    Things to ask about with a pediatrician --

    After hours resources -- answering service, phone number/emails/txts, etc.
    Extended hours -- evening and weekend hours for busy schedules.
    Same day sick appointments -- will you be able to bring in your kiddo the same day if they are sick?
    Bedside manner -- do you "mesh" with the doctor? Every doctor is a little different and you'll want to find one that makes you feel comfortable. You'll be trusting their experience and knowledge often so this is important! Don't feel bad if you don't like a doctor's style and want to find someone else; there are patients who do like their style and there is likely another doctor better suited for you. The doctor wants the relationship to work just as much as you do!
    Newborn rooming/waiting room --  you'll want to check to make sure they room newborns quickly so their waiting room exposure is minimal until their immune system gets built up a bit more. You'll be seeing them quite a bit in the first few weeks so knowing you won't have to sit in a room with sick kids is a huge plus. Our office let us wait in the car until they had a room open so we could go right to the back.

    @mbradfo2 thanks for the questions, I was wondering what to ask them.
  • thanks @mbradfo2! your list was more exhaustive than the one our birthing class mentioned -- mostly they mentioned the sick room vs. well room waiting and after hours resources.  good tips!

    @mrsyng sorry to hear about the terrible reflux.  i only get mild cases here and there that i try to manage with tums or pepcid once and a while.  i am getting winded though... its hard to teach for 3 hours straight -- my breathing is definitely more labored and short.  the new thing is allergy season! i hadn't had seasonal allergies until i moved to vegas. i woke up with puffy eyes and a runny nose but didn't feel sick... then i remembered allergies!  blergh

    @bkatp gastritis sounds super uncomfortable and probably worse than having to get up to pee all the time. hoping the medication helps... they say to get as much sleep now as possible! ;)

    @northbeach3 yes trying to.

    @kristimh80 hope you are enjoying with your baby girl.

    @bebesparrow @scikap any updates from you ?

    My ob gyn appointment went well and I am scheduled out till my delivery. Biweekly appointments till 36 weeks and weekly then on.

    I can now differentiate brackston hicks and baby movements. Have anyone of you experienced lower back pain, I read online that persistent lower back pain coupled with 3-4 brackston hicks in an hour is associated with pre term labor. I had both yesterday and was Worried if it was pre term labor. I laid down for rest of the time and I am fine by the morning. Now at work I am experiencing both again, after I reach home I’ll just lay down again for rest of the day. Just hoping to make it to another 5 weeks atleast. If this feeling doesn’t go away I’ll bring it up with my OB at my next appointment on 10th.
  • @bkatp how would you describe the difference btw movement vs contractions? I don’t think I’ve felt any BH contractions. But maybe I have? Is it painful? My low back pain comes and goes, nothing consistent yet.

    Have any any of you gotten your RX for your breast pump? I brought it up once earlier with my OB and she said oh of course we’ll give you an RX but dunno when to bring it up again.

    @kristimh80 I’ve been waiting with bated breath for your update. Hope things went smoothly. Let us know!!!

  • Been awhile since HDBD for me. Definitely starting to feel self conscious about weight gain, as I think it’s more of my own fat than baby that’s getting added. :/  try to remind myself that it’s for the baby. We’ll see if the OB says anything about it today.

    @northbeach3 nice bump pic.  Everyone at my work says my bump is small for the weeks I am at🙄.  Brackston hicks feels like tightening of upper abdomen and more towards stomach and it lasts for like about 60 sec. My OB showed me the position. Rolling or moving feeling lasts lesser than that, and won’t feel like tightening, I think ul know it when u feel the tightening cos earlier it was very difficult for me to understand what it feels like.

    @northbeach3 my OB gave me prescription for breast pump around 24 weeks and I placed an order for it. They said it will ship a month before my due date
  • argh my ob didn’t seem to know the process. She alluded to her signing things that people bring in to her. I think I found a website to sign up so now to investigate that. Blergh

  • @kristimh80 Omgosh!  Congratulations!  She is sooo precious.  I ended up in a primary C-section because at my 39 week appointment, my OB said baby was measuring 2 weeks ahead and 10.5 lbs.  I had my baby boy March 22.  He came in weighing at a hefty 10 lbs 14 oz!  Good luck on your C-section recovery!  Let me know if you need anything :)
  • @kristimh80
    Congrats! She's perfect!  And Anne's birthday twin hahah :smile:

    @bebesparrow
    Congrats also!! Sounds like my hubby when he was born -- 10 lbs and hefty!

    Hope the recoveries are smooth for both of you :)

MH and I keep saying, nothing about having this one was ever "normal," so we should know not to expect it! lol Everything here is good, just running on fumes with lack of sleep but this little one makes me easily forget it all!

    @mbradfo2 Haha I thought about you and your LO the other day when she was born!

    I will say, after all the hard work and time we put into having these little one's...you forget it all as soon as they are here. I keep asking myself..."is she really mine? Like how did this happen?"

    @kristimh80 @bebesparrow congratulations both and fast recovery from C sections.
  • Hi all!
    congrats to @kristimh80 and @bebesparrow!!

    What an eventful week.

    Baby boy Alexander was born on March 26, 6 lb 12 oz!

    Everyone is doing great, though the birth was pretty dramatic (read below if you want).
    Can't believe he's finally here :):)

    I never ended up being induced because i went into labor on my own at 39 weeks. I had fairly mild manageable contractions for about 22 hours, when my water broke. Baby came about 5 hours after that after that.

    Here’s the scary part. As soon as I started pushing, the baby’s heart rate dropped dramatically. Turns out his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice. The OB said that we needed to get baby out ASAP by whatever means necessary. I was pushing as hard as I could, but it wasn’t enough. They tried two different vacuums, gave me an episiotomy, and then in the end the forceps did the trick to get him out.

    Baby Alexander is 100% perfect! I’m fine too, but I have a grade 4 tear and a rough recovery in the coming weeks. Still worth it though :):)

    @scikap congratulations 🎈🎊.

    All beautiful babies with exciting birth stories. Hoping for fast recovery for all three of you.
  • Congratulations @scikap!  Your LO is so darling.  Wishing you a speedy recovery!

    @northbeach3 I had a very small baby shower of only 9 people so I was able to splurge and get a bottle of champagne for each.  Honestly, you look great, mama, looking at your picture.

  • @bebesparrow i think i'm at 25 people!! i spent 2.5 hours at home goods yesterday trying to find "themed' prizes... and scouring the clearance sections, haha.  i went with beach towel + plastic party mug, coffee mug + coffee, tea mug + tea, baking bowls + spatulas, and mexican chip basket + placemats for prizes... plus several smaller prizes.  for my two party planners, both are obsessed with makeup/sephora, so I bought them little makeup organizers + $25 sephora gift card and other little bath masks etc.  i wrapped them all in cellophane and they're ready to go for this saturday.

    my party planners are both a bit obsessive in their own ways, so they've been clashing with each other, and kinda driving my batty.  the one who's doing food wants to go way over the top and had been demanding matching serving ware, but she doesn't have any and was underwhelmed with what i had. she wanted to spend a ton of money to by ceramic mugs for her affogato desserts and i asked her if she planned on keeping them after the party (b/c i don't need 12 coffee mugs, i have plenty!).  that's just one of her initial demands... fortunately, i think i mostly talked her back from spending all this extra money on stuff that we don't really need and that her food table will still be beautiful.  *sigh*
