Re: Group 4 Check In (Aug 24-31) - W/O 03/31

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: August 26 / 19 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): Mango? These fruits never make sense lol. Isn't a sweet potato longer than a mango?

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue

Upcoming Appointments: TOMORROW!! A/S. I am nervous and excited.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good actually. I have pain and pregnancy is painful but whatever.

    Rants/Raves:

Rants - Everything is on sale and I want to buy all the baby things now but this doesn't fit my plan. Also, I realized if I am 19 weeks, this baby could be born in anywhere from 18-21 weeks. WHAT. Where is the time going? I am not prepared.

Rave - The weather was AMAZING here the past few days. So sunny and warm. I wore dresses with bare legs. Yesterday, I walked 12 kms and did 1 hour of intense barre. Everything hurt after but I am pretty proud. I bought a ton of baby stuff and they're all so cute. If I ever finish this 1 last paper I have to do, I will be done this semester. However, I have procrastinated hard and only written like 200 words. It is due tonight.

    Questions: None I think?

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?

I really hope he gets my H's eyes. Scientifically I know that it is highly unlikely as I have brown eyes (albeit, lighter than most brown eyes) but my H has these amazing green eyes with a hazel edge. They're so beautiful. His parents both have brown eyes and my H has his eyes and his brother has blue eyes so...I like to tell myself not impossible. Haha. I also really hope he gets my H's height. He is 6'0 and I am only 5'1.5. Please let him be tall and not short like me.

I hope he gets my nose. I have a great nose and my H and his brother have terrible noses. I also hope he gets more of my hair and skin genetics as I am brown, which means I have great hair, I can tan well and don't burn, and I have really good skin. We also age very well haha.

@mrosek91, your A/S is tomorrow as well, right? You guys will be finding out the baby's sex? SO exciting! I hope it goes well.

Baby is the size of a(n): mango

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Finding out tomorrow!!

    Upcoming Appointments: A/S tomorrow

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, still perpetually tired.

Rants/Raves: my parents and brother came for the weekend, it's so nice having an extra 3 sets of hands.

    Questions:

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner? I've never really thought about it everyone says DH's family is only capable of making large, blond, boys, and so far that has proven accurate. I guess if there's one thing of mine they could get it would be my chin. DH's family all have very pronounced chins, and it causes dental issues.

@AKuzReve yes, mine is also tomorrow and we are finding out!! I can't wait! But yours is probably sooner because mine is not until 1:30 EST. Hope they both go well!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/27 18+4

Baby is the size of a(n): postcard

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Thursday

How are you feeling?:I’m fine until it’s time to eat then I’m so nauseas until the food is in me

Rants/Raves: still haven’t found a boy name we love. I’ve only felt a flutter twice. I want to feel baby move!

Questions: are you feeling baby move yet?

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?

My other 2 boys were born with my green eyes then had blue up until their 1st birthday. They both have light brown eyes now. I hope this one has my green and keeps them. They both also have my smile so I hope this one does too. I hope baby has H’s nose and squishy cheeks!

  • @mrosek91, mine is 6:30 PM so 12:30 EST so it’s almost identical! I’m so excited for you to find out.

My nephew is super blonde and my husband was blonde as a child. LO will probably have brown hair but I wonder. My sister in law and brother in law both have brown hair.

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @AKuzReve and @mrosek91 good luck with the scans! So exciting!! I Hope you get some great views!!

@mia8263 I am not feeling regular movements yet. Occasional things I think MIGHT be baby, which feel more like distinct rolls or punches than the...tickle flutters I was getting a couple weeks ago. But I'm not positive it's baby vs like...colon spasms. (Even though I don't remember experiencing them ever before pregnancy). I know it's still early so I'm trying not to be nervous about it.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Aug 30, 18+2

Baby is the size of a(n): artichoke apparently?

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Green. But I keep dreaming it's a girl. So we will see if the dreams are accurate!

Upcoming Appointments: OB on Tuesday, AS on April 12

How are you feeling?: I'm getting heartburn at night I think. Before bed. I get super nauseated and almost vomit. Otherwise pretty good. Occasional sharp nipple pain. Tired (DH is still sick and waking me all night). And I think my bump popped...so it's there now... Hanging around. DH LOVES it.

Rants/Raves: I love when my sister comes by. She is super helpful, does little tasks (dishwasher, dishes, walking dog) without being asked. And I don't feel like I have to entertain her. I love DHs family, but it's not the same when his siblings come visit. One of his brothers and SIL invited themselves over yesterday. (With 2 days notice). I figured it was to walk the dog, which is great and very helpful. But then I found out they wanted us to cook them dinner. Which is always complicated since SIL is vegetarian (but also isn't eating sugar, gluten, milk or cheese). Which requires weeks of meal prep planning for me. Not 1 day notice, especially when both DH and I are sick. And then there was no help given. The Brother just wanted to hang and play video games, didn't walk the dog, and ate an ENTIRE bag of our Oreos.

    Questions: I can't remember..

GTKY: I hope baby gets DHs full thick hair, but my straightness if it's a girl (his is curly, which I love. But as much as I wanted curly hair when I was little, everyone says how much harder it is to take care of).

Hopefully baby gets DHs memory for things learned, and his smarts and physique (read: skinny genes lol).

But hopefully not his ADHD, as that is difficult for a person to live with. (Even though several of these aren't really phsyical traits).

I don't have any good physical traits to pass on.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: August 24 ..19w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): Mango?

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): green until delivery!

Upcoming Appointments: regular check up tomorrow and anatomy scan the following week.

How are you feeling?: Still struggling. i am nauseous, exhausted and fighting dizzy spells and frequent headaches. Thankfully my back pain is signifcantly better than it was.

Rants/Raves: I just wish that I had easier pregnancies, but definitely not the case.

    Questions:

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?  IDK. I really don't have a strong preference. DH and I look very different from eachother, he is 6'2" I am 5'0", He has always had very dark brown hair while I was a natually light blonde kid, his eyes are blue and mine are brown. DD is my mini and DS looks so much like DH that I don't think I would believe he is mine if I didn't give birth to him....so it will be interesting to see how this one looks. I feel like I would rather have our boys get his height and our girls get mine. Also, his blue eyes and dimples on our DS get me every time so I definitely would not mind another set of those in our family.

  • @mia8263 I have been feeling movement. This past week is has been multiple times a day. A few weeks ago I was just feeling flutters. Also, DD was born with blue eyes but by the time she was 1 they were brown....also born with brown hair that turned blonde.

@chillycanadian I can not imagine having those kind of dietary preferences/restrictions and asking someone to cook for me. That sounds awful. Also, DD has very severe ADHD and not going to lie, I hope we do not have another with it.  Due to that and other health issues everything is more challenging with her. She also struggles with anxiety, sensory issues and they suspect she has a learning disability.  Plus Chiari Malformation, mixed sleep apnea, insomnia and a suspected connective tissue disease....I literally pray for a less medically and behaviorally complex kiddo this time.

  • @Allycat11 wow that must be such a struggle! It's not easy for a child to navigate through life with all the extra challenges, and it's not easy for the parents to cope either. We love our kids no matter what, but it's fair to hope they don't have to deal with those extra difficulties. I hope this LO is less complex for you!!

I love DH with all my heart, but I know his life would have been easier growing up without the ADHD. I know it still causes difficulties for him. And he is nervous that our kids will have to go through the same.
(Though luckily his parents were amazing at dealing with 3/4 of theirt  children having ADHD, and learned lots while raising them. So we would have a support system. But still. Fingers crossed!)

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 18+4

Baby is the size of a(n): artichoke

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): We are having a girl.

    Upcoming Appointments: AS this week!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, especially in comparison to the first 16 weeks! Some nausea, back pain, heart burn, but all manageable enough for the time being.

Rants/Raves: This is my first check in post - yay! I am also excited that I’ve finally got some maternity clothes and make me feel comfortable and cute!

    Questions:

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?

I would love for my LO to get my eye color (blue/green) and freckles! MH has beautiful thick curly hair and great teeth - I hope LO gets those from him!

  • @Allycat11, I’m sorry you still feel crappy. In your prior pregnancies, was there a let up at all? Or did it persist the whole pregnancy?

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @chillycanadian, I also had tons for my H and none for me so sat there thinking for a while. I have the non-physical traits that I would like to get passed on haha.

Is this the OB appt where you could get taken off bed rest?!

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @AKuzReve with DD I was nauseous until the day she was born. With DS the nausea let up around 15 weeks like most people but I would get really scary dizzy spells for most of 2nd and 3rd tri and I started having contractions at 28 weeks. Thankfully he hung on until 39 weeks but it was an uncomfortable couple months. After struggling TTC with all of my kiddos ans multiple losses I am truly beyond grateful for this pregnancy, but feeling like crap every day is still not my favorite.

  • @AKuzReve - My husband has the exact same color eyes as yours, and DD1 got them.  I adore them.  They almost change color depending on what she wears and they are more golden than hazel. Mine are brown, so it can definitely happen! Punnett squares forever!!

@mrosek91 and @Allycat11 - I don't think I realized until now that we have the same due date  <3

@chillycanadian - Pregnancy heartburn is the WORST. It has gotten increasingly worse for me with each pregnancy.  Good luck.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 19w + 2 d / August 24

Baby is the size of a(n): I feel like TB said it's the size of a dollar bill in the app today

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday is my A/S with MFM, and then on the 9th I'll have one with my regular OB/GYN

How are you feeling?: SO. HUNGRY. and SO. TIRED.  But otherwise feeling pretty good.  My shoulders hurt a lot from the sudden weight gain I've had in the last few weeks (I lost weight first tri and suddenly put on 10 pounds) and I have a bit of a forward lean.

Rants/Raves: My skin is finally clearing up! Hurray! I'm a little annoyed that I am first trimester tired still, but I'm making due.

Questions: Any STM+ figure out their carseat configurations yet? We're still debating what we're going to do with 3 carseats.

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?: This is an interesting one since this is our third.  DD1 looks mostly like me but has some traits from DH (his hair line, his eye color, which I ADORE,  his chin) but otherwise is my clone. DD2 is 100% my family - like she has absolutely nothing from DH and looks identical to my sister/mom.  So honestly, I kind of hope DS looks like DH.

@mia8263 This is my third baby, and the movement is still sporadic. I feel flutters, and once or twice something more substantial, but nothing consistent.
@AKuzReve I am light brown, blond is a recessive gene, so you can definitely be a carrier, without knowing it. My husband's hair actually got darker once he hit his 20s, it's still light, but nothing like the bright blonde I see when I look at pictures growing up. All his brothers (5) were blond growing up, some still are, some are more light brown like he is now... genetics are weird. It's not a great picture, because it's a yellow background, but if you can make out my profile pic it's my two boys from the back, you can see how blonde they are.
@chillycanadian Good luck with the heartburn, have you tried tums? I haven't experienced it yet this pregnancy, but they saved me quite a bit last time. I also have a lot of personality things of DH that I care about more than his looks. Like I want our kids to get his brains, and his musical talents, and his patience... I could go on.
@peachy0709 I mostly stopped looking at the daily facts, yesterday they said baby is the size of a hot dog, today it was a dollar bill, and the weekly one is mango. How are all those the same? About the car seat, we haven't discussed it in detail yet, every time I bring it up DH says he's not worried. When we have all three we'll have to be in his car (Toyota Highlander) because there is no way we can fit three across in mine (Nissan Cube). He said that they sell special skinny car seats for people with kids close in age, or multiples. He plans to buy one of those, and put it in the middle. He'll have DS#1 climb into it himself, and we can reach through the seats from the front to buckle it. Then DS#2, and this one will be on either side. Not sure where we'll put all the luggage when we go away, but I guess we'll figure it out...

Baby is the size of a(n): artichoke

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green):  pink!

    Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan 4/12!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, belly is getting more and more noticeable. It's starting to get uncomfortable to sleep, even with a pregnancy pillow. I roll from side to side a lot and usually sleep on my stomach, so now I have to roll around the other way (onto my back first then to the other side). Also bending over is getting difficult. I know this will get 100x worse but I can't imagine it right now!

Rants/Raves: Rant: General discomfort but overall feeling pretty good. Rave: We spent the weekend with my parents and with my H's dad's side of the family so it was good to see everyone!

Questions: Anyone else not get the "butterflies"? I *think* that I'm feeling movement, but it's more like random light taps rather than flutters.

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?

We both have ears that stick out, so our baby is sure to be blessed with those... My H has better skin than me, so hopefully baby girl gets his mostly clear skin. I hope she gets my straight hair - H's is really thick, and his mom's is really thick and curly so I imagine it is more difficult to maintain.
  • @AKuzReve I'm hoping this is the one I'll be off bed rest! At least to be officially permitted to do light stuff around the house! TW* I've had no spotting since March 6, which was before my last OB appointment *End TW* so I hope he will decrease the progesterone and allow me some light physical activity. I feel like my muscles are atrophying haha. (FFC...I admit in the last 2 weeks I've broken the rules and been doing easy chores around the house. The dishwasher, washing dishes etc. I take my time and move slowly. But so far so good!) I wanna start short walks again at least before my belly is so big that breathing is super tough!
Also, me too for the non physical traits! Like my love of reading and musical talent! What are yours?

@peachy0709 yay for the clearing skin!!!! That must be such a good feeling!!

@mrosek91 thank you. Yeah TUMS does seem to help. I was taking it during the first trimester...almost daily. But then last week when I was almost vomitting from the heart burn, I took one and gagged and spat it out. Couldn't handle the chalky-ness I guess? Haha. Pregnancy is so weird.... Maybe I should try not eating 3 hours before bed...

@dogmomma096 I'm pretty sure we have already pointed this out, but I'm excited we are AS date buddies haha! I also seem to be feeling light taps. But was getting tickle flutters a couple weeks ago. But none in quite a while.

@AKuzReve & @mrosek91 - yay for scans today! Give us allll the pictures!

@chillycanadian & @dogmomma096 - You gals totally need to show off your popping bumps on HDBD this week! I was so excited when I started showing with my first. This time around I’m all like “omg, I’m huuuuuge. Slow down!” I totally wish I had a cute little bump - I look more like a manatee than anything 🤣.

@peachy0709 - we have a Honda Odyssey. We’ll remove the middle seat from the second row, DD will be turned forward facing and moved to the 3rd row, and the twins will be in the two second row seats. Honestly not quite sure how we would manage 3 under 3 in a vehicle without that second row magic slide functionality - it’s gonna be a lifesaver.

  • @AKuzReve @mrosek91 I will be thinking about you with your anatomy scans tomorrow!!! Can't wait to see updated ultrasound pics!
@mia8263 I think I'm feeling movement, at least a few times each day. It's hard to be confident but it definitely feels different than anything else!
@chillycanadian Ugh your H's brother and SIL sound super rude. I can only imagine how un-helpful they will be when the baby comes and they want to visit! Anxiously awaiting 4/12 for our AS too!
@Allycat11 Sorry that you are still having a rough time. I hope you get some relief soon!
@gcmomtobe19 Welcome! Good luck with your AS this week!
@peachy0709 My skin finally cleared up this last week too - it's been brutal! Good luck with your AS's!
  • @peachy0709 I am stressed about the car seat situation. I drive a Chevy Traverse with a bench seat in the middle row. If we are lucky DDs booster will fit in between DSs convertible and #3s infant seat. Worst case scenario we will put DD in the third row but it is a pain accessing that row when there is a carseat in row2 passenger side. I have beeen wanting to test it but DH still has not looked for the infant seat in the attic...hopefully soon.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/24, 19+2

Baby is the size of a(n): mango / dollar bill

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue + ?

    Upcoming Appointments: 4/11 for A/S & OB check-up

How are you feeling?: I stopped my prenatal with iron for a couple days while we potty trained (b/c I needed to feel as good as possible for that) and have been feeling so much better. I’m dreading restarting it. Also - starting to feel quite large, and it’s inhibiting my ability to chase my very active 2-year-old

    Rants/Raves:

RAVE - MY KID IS TOTALLY GETTING THIS POTTY TRAINING THING. All other STMs here will hopefully understand why that’s all caps. So freaking exciting. She picked it up so quick. Not that it was all fun, b/c we had our fair share of meltdowns and tantrums, but I’m feeling really great about her progress. It was my most-dreaded parenting experience (seriously, I think I started worrying about it while I was still pregnant with her) and I think we’re through the worst of it.

Rant - no big baby movements yet. I’m at the point where I started feeling them with DD, and originally I figured I would feel them sooner with my second. I’m sure the anterior placenta is going to keep me from feeling one of them for a bit, but I was really hoping I would start feeling the one with the posterior placenta!

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner?

Hope at least one of the twins gets my thick, dark, fairly straight hair. I was teased with DD  - she came out of the womb with my hair, and a few months later it fell out and regrew blonde...and now it’s wavy/curly. I’m struggling to figure out how to manage it!

Hope at least one kid gets DH’s blue eyes to stick. Again, we were teased with DD - born blue and kept them for over a year, but now she has some green on the inside.

I also hope the twins get DD’s adorable full lips. I don’t know where they came from but she gets so many compliments about them! I think they’re destined to have long legs and short torsos since DH and I are both built that way, and DD is the same.

  • I've mostly just been lurking our weekly check-in for the past few weeks because you ladies are much better about engaging here frequently than I am!

But I wanted to jump in and congratulate @chillycanadian for being released from bedrest!! That is amazing news. Hopefully those shots aren't too bad!
  • @chillycanadian Your poor H lol (and probably you, too!). But so glad you can at least move around now. What about finding a pair of those cute high-waisted swim bottoms with a matching bikini top?
Also, I'm so envious you can see your babe moving!! We can feel mine (faintly) from the outside of my stomach when he's really being active, but I don't think his movements can be seen yet. How exciting!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/26 / 19 + 3

Baby is the size of a(n): Mango/zucchini

What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: We had our A/S on Monday and everything looks great. We also found out we are having a girl!

How are you feeling?: Good. It finally feels like spring outside.

Rants/Raves: Rant: I gained 7 lbs since my last appointment out of the 10 lbs total I gained. It makes me nervous about what my weight gain will look like moving forward!
Rave: Feeling the baby kick pretty consistently now, and DH is able to feel her kicking, too. Never gets old.

    Questions:

GTKY: (Stole from G1 because I liked the question!) What is 1-2 physical features you hope LO gets from you? From your partner? Pretty much the only physical feature that DS got from me is my eye color (literally he is otherwise my husband's twin down to his toes), so I'd love for this one to look more like me in her face.
  • Can someone else post the check in on Sunday? I’ll be in London!

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • @oklahomak I was SHOCKED I was able to see anything! But we got more of a show today!! And DH was able to feel some movement too!! 😍😍

And yes...I feel bad for us too 😂 worse for me actually. My last orgasm was Dec 8 when we made the baby.....
At least he doesn't have THAT restriction.... 😂😂 And second trimester hormones have been driving me BONKERS!!!
