  • @prpl11butterfly Ooohh, I have been debating on when to tell our kids (though only DS1 will care or understand). I feel like I need one more appt. under my belt before we tell them, since DS1 will prob blab about it to everyone he comes in contact with and I'm just not ready for that yet. Also, crossing fingers you finally found the house!
@galentine Good luck with your appt. today! I'm sure everything will go swimmingly. Speaking of swimming--I love the beach/water, too! I live on the east coast so we're able to go all the time (helps that my ILs have a house where we can crash whenever we want basically.)

What's going on this week? Baby is a Brussels Sprout this week and I think it's the cutest nickname. (Not as good as Chicken Nugget though)

How far along are you? 11w 4d

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope. Have one on Monday.

Cravings/Symptoms? No major cravings, but...  I. have. to. pee. all. the. time.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I am so paranoid about my blump at work. I am a pretty slender person normally and so of course I just worry people are noticing that my clothes just aren't fitting.

Questions? We are electing to do the NIPT screening (but not the ultrasound). But my question is more that my doctor isn't requiring it even though I am 37. Nothing seems to be that different so far than my other pregnancies before I was AMA. Why?? I know I'll get more sonos at the end, but is that it?

GTKY: Where is your happy place? Agree on "by the water," but I'll take it a step further and say traveling in general makes me so happy. I basically work so that I can appreciate vacations (and you know, to fund said vacations).

@galentine Yay for your appointment today. I think part of the anxiousness is also excitement at seeing and hearing your baby so I can tell you from my own experience with DS, I was anxious/excited for every appointment, up until birth.  <3 Also can't wait to hear about how telling your family goes this weekend.

@prpl11butterfly So happy that you had a wonderful appointment yesterday. And sorry about last night, I feel ya about the acting up. Do you think that you guys will put in an offer on the house?

@junebabyh Hope you have a great appointment too!! Sorry about the peeing  :|

What's going on this week? Baby is the size of a LEGO man (DS was playing with one last night and got a kick out of my putting it on my tummy and pretending it was the baby) and weighs as much as a packet of ketchup.

How far along are you? 11+3

Anyone have an appointment this week? Not this week, but two next week: NIPT & NT scan on Tuesday and regular 12 week OB on Wednesday

Cravings/Symptoms? Still digging my tortilla and spicy crema sauce. Also talk in the Randoms about root beer floats is making me really want one. Plus a slice of pizza.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Today my company is doing a pancake breakfast for employee appreciation, so I'm looking forward to some yummy food. My rant is I've had some weird pains in my abdomen for the last couple of days, I feel like it's partially my IBS acting up  :'(

    Questions? nope

GTKY: Where is your happy place? Not sure I have one. I feel good when I can lay in my comfy bed, with the covers up around me.

  • @galentine GL at your appointment today! Hearing the heartbeat is the best feeling. <3 I definitely get more anxiety as an appointment approaches. I think it's pretty normal, but try to relax if you can. Stress isn't good for your little girl. Maybe you can go get a pedicure later?
@prpl11butterfly Good luck with the house hunt! Sorry you weren't able to tell the kids yesterday. Will you try again tonight?
@junebabyh I'm sure that you notice your "blump" more than others. I think I'm huge, but the few people I've told all say I don't look any different yet.
What's going on this week? Baby is as tall as a tube of lipstick.

How far along are you? 13 weeks, 2 days.

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope. I have to wait until April 19th.

Cravings/Symptoms? Cereals are still a big craving for me. Constipation has been an annoying and new symptom.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? My mom is flying in tomorrow to look after me thanks to Monday's car accident. My husband is going out of the country for work, so it will be nice to have her here to feed me and generally treat me like an invalid. My rant is that my car is totaled so now I have to find a new car before the rental is due back next week.

Questions? None that anyone could answer. I just want to be sure that my baby is doing okay and will be healthy after the wreck. I'm having a really hard time with it.

GTKY: Where is your happy place? I agree with everyone. I, too love the sound of the ocean. But I also love being around nature. Put me in a garden surrounded by flowers and trees and I'm exquisitely happy.

  • @junebabyh we have definitely avoided telling them this far because I KNOW they will both spread the news. Most notably Neice will tell her mom and I'd really like her to never find out.... is that possible? Really just because I don't like her much... I am sure your more paranoid then needed. I doubt your coworkers have noticed.

@stephanie123456 we may put an offer in.... still gotta do some figuring. Pancakes sound amazing, enjoy!!

@elle-0409 we might try, depends on how the night goes....  I'm glad you have your mom to come and help while DH is away. I know you've gotten lots of reassurance but I'll add too it. Baby girl is so so well padded in her sac of fluid. I am sure shes going to be just fine ❤
  • @prpl11butterfly, how exciting about the house! I hope it works out for you guys! 🤞

@junebabyh, I am also super paranoid about my blump (or is it just a bump now?!) at work. I've been wearing looser fitting tops which hide it pretty well, but at the same time, I feel like I'm not fooling anyone. My coworkers have been on "babywatch" for me for about 4 years. How much longer until you are out at work? I might tell mine next week, or maybe even as soon as tomorrow if I feel brave enough 🙊

@stephanie123456, how cute about the Lego man and playing with your DS. Love it! Also you should TOTALLY give in to that root beer float. They are the best thing ever right now. 😋

@elle-0409, I'm so glad your mom is coming to take care of you. You deserve to be pampered a bit after what you went through. How are things going otherwise? Uneventful, I hope? And you absolutely read my mind regarding the pedicure! Pedicures are my go-to splurge when I'm in a "treat yo self" mood, and I planned to leave work early enough to have one before my doctor appointment today! I'm currently relaxing in a massage chair. BEST. ❤
  • @galentine I'm super jelly of your pedi! I was thinking about getting 1 this week but here we are at Thursday and I haven't gone. I like to use my lunch break for that, a nice treat mid work day.
  • @prpl11butterfly, I finally tamed my leg hair, so I had to go now while the time was right 😂

@kindbytealikat, your happy place sounds so nice!

You are over the hump of secrecy since you are 12+ weeks now.... so tell tell tell! And let us know how it goes. I am trying to wait until 16 weeks (so that's end of April for me) because anything after that I think will be very difficult to hide. I am not sure I will make it that long, but I am waiting on this promotion that I know is already in the works. Not like my bosses would take it away or something if they found out. *TW In fact my direct supervisor probably expects it soon since she's privy to my previous loss.

PS. Pedi's are also my guilty pleasure... actually I don't feel guilty about them at all really even though DH thinks they are a waste of money. Current color is Sunday Funday!

@elle-0409 and @prpl11butterfly Yes, my mom and sister tell me I don't look any different, so I am sure it's all in my mind. But I do catch myself looking at every reflection in glass or windows or mirrors. Ugh! Oh AND when I told my MIL a few weeks ago she said--I was looking at you last night thinking "she looks great! Did she get Botox?!" lol lol lol
    I died.

  • @galentine I hope baby girl's hb is strong and beautiful 😍
@prpl11butterfly yay for finding a possible house! Ours was a little more than we wanted to spend too, but we're so happy we found it!
@junebabyh that is odd that you haven't received any extra testing early... Is your NIPT at least covered by insurance?
@stephanie123456 pancakes sound amazing! I'm sorry about the stomach issues though 😥
@elle-0409 glad your mama is coming to look after you 💚
@kindbytealikat sounds like you need a Canadian friend to send you some ketchup lays!!!

What's going on this week? Little one is officially a fetus!! And the size of a poker chip!
How far along are you? 11+2
Anyone have an appointment this week? No, just waiting for my NIPT results 😭
Cravings/Symptoms? I'm just really impressionable with food right now, so basically I see it or hear about it and I want it lol Saw a cheesecake recipe on my fb feed last night and haven't stopped thinking about it since....
Rants/Raves/Randoms? See the NIPT thread for my rant... Rave is that we will be moving in just over a week!!!
GTKY: Where is your happy place? My home. I'm a major homebody and just enjoy being in my own space. My other would be next to the ocean, it reminds me so much of my gma and I've always felt a connection to it 💚 I'm really excited because our new home is just minutes from the ocean and I get to see it every day on my way home!

@prpl11butterfly, did you end up telling the kids last night? I'm curious how it went!

ETA - oops just saw your post in Randoms. Good luck telling them tonight!
  • Lol @galentine. We decided to wait until tonight because I bought DS a "I am a big brother" book and it arrives today. He use to get books in the mail monthly (btw, everyone look into Dolly Partons imagination library, free books for kids under 5) but our town got dropped from the program. He remembers getting them and once in a while tells me his misses them. I thought it would be perfect.

Niece is getting a book too but it's about girls bodies changing as they get older (Care and Keepingof You). She had lots of questions when I was preg with DS but she was only 7 so it was easier to be vague. Now, I don't think we will have that luxury....
  • Ladies, I have risen from the dead (this would've been a great gif opportunity)! I can't believe it's been so long (2 weeks). Sorry, I've been hardcore lurking the TTGP Check In  but life and work got away from me.

@galentine hey due date buddy, that's great that your nausea is gone and that you got to hear her heartbeat for the first time. Amazing milestones. Did you get to see her moving all around? I'm so behind so ignore this question if you answered it in the March Appointment thread, which I'm looking at next
@prpl11butterfly telling both your son and niece through a book sounds like a great idea
@junebabyh my blump at work has been so annoying too. I hate buttons now but am not pregnant enough for maternity pants, so each morning I choose between looking frumpy (maternity pants) or being uncomfortable (regular pants)
@stephanie123456 between the crema, pancakes and pizza references your post is PAINFUL, I am now starving. Hope you enjoyed the breakfast
@elle-0409 I'm so sorry to hear about the car accident. It's lucky that your mom can come out and I'm sure that everything will be fine (will send all positive thoughts your way)
@kindbytealikat that's a convenient craving because ketchup can be added to most things. YUM, I so love ketchup and fries (the obvious combo)
@nnaelilak good luck on the results wait, I'll check out your post under NT/NIPT after this

What's going on this week? Jelly Bean is the size of a plum and almost all vital systems/organs have formed

How far along are you? 12+5

Anyone have an appointment this week? I had one on Tuesday for the NT ultrasound scan. I'll update in that thread later today but it went awesome and it was really fun to finally see a moving human in there (last time it was an immovable bean)

Cravings/Symptoms? No real craving yet, but things don't sound as delicious as they used to and sometimes don't taste as good either. Re: symptoms, I'm feeling more tired lately (harder to get out of bed in the morning) and have hyper-smelling ability

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Rant - I need awesome jeans and work pants that are comfortable and cute! I've tried to buy maternity pants twice now, but the ones from target I got in my normal size and were very small, then I bought some online on Asos one size up and they are HUGE. Now I'm going to try ordering my normal size on Asos and see if they work

Questions? Does anyone know what typically happens at the 12/13 week appt? Will there be another ultrasound or do those not happen every appointment?

GTKY: Where is your happy place? Being at home with nothing to do (not just procrastinating as is the norm), in a sunny corner with a great book and blanket...AHH
  • @marbellie!!!!!! MARBELLIE!!!!!!! I was so worried about you, girl! I'm so glad you are back and everything is ok. I'm glad you got to see your little jelly bean again 😊 My 12w appointment yesterday consisted of doppler only (no ultrasound), so we got to hear her but not see her. Hearing the heartbeat was incredible!!
  • @galentine aw sorry to have caused concern but thanks for thinking of us~ ahh, I thought there likely wouldn't be another ultrasound. What did the appt consist of? I'm wondering if it's worth having MH make the drive into town (he works from home 30 mins away while I work in the city right next to our hospital)
  • @marbellie, mine was super quick. They took my BP and my weight, I peed in a cup, and the I waited for the doctor for about 5 minutes. Then saw the doctor for about 5 minutes total, and she used the doppler to hear the heartbeat and asked if I had any questions. That was it! My H came along because he wanted to, but it was definitely not necessary for him to be there. My doctor said my 16w appointment will be the same: vitals, quick doppler heartbeat check, and time for questions.
  • @galentine @marbellie That sounds about right for the 12 week appointment. I think a majority of mine were like that for DS. For my 12 week appointment on Wednesday, I think I may get another u/s (which is redundant since I'm getting my NT the day before but since it's done at a different office... whatever) but that is because I saw the NP for my first appointment. But since it's at the end of the day and DS will be napping, I told DH he doesn't need to come. I'm thinking we will visit a boutique U/S place maybe around week 14 for him and DS to see the LO.
