How are you feeling?: Pretty good, the 3 hour nap I got today while my MIL had the boys might have helped... Maybe I'll even clean the kitchen tonight.
Rants/Raves: after stressing over not being able to find an emerald maternity gown and finally getting one, it turns out no else could find emerald gowns either and my future SIL changed the color!!

GTKY: (stolen from group 1) Opinions on st Patrick's day? Love it, hate it? Somewhere in between? Mostly indifferent, I hate how corporatized most religious holidays have gotten. But this one I tend to ignore. I did grow up in a town with a large Irish population, and a semi-famous parade, so I do have memories of not being allowed outside which ever Saturday the parade was held.

How are you feeling?: Good! My lower back is sore at the moment but I think it’s unrelated to baby. I can’t imagine how much worse it’ll hurt when I actually have a huge belly 😬
Rants/Raves: I’ve been trying to get homework done for my grad class and I’m making no progress. Ready to be done with this degree for sure!

GTKY: (stolen from group 1) Opinions on st Patrick's day? Love it, hate it? Somewhere in between? In between I guess. I mainly just see it as a holiday for drinking, which was fun in college but otherwise don’t really see how to celebrate. My family isn’t particularly Irish though.

Upcoming Appointments: blood work tomorrow for fetal genetic disorders. A little nervous. OB on April 2
How are you feeling?: Yesterday I was feeling good! Today I'm super.... Crampy and achy. I'm pretty sure I've got some RLP going on. We tried to take a brief look at cribs, car seats and strollers today, and I was in pain the whole time. For the past hour I also feel... Kinda constipated crampy. It's unpleasant.
Rants/Raves: I bought something for baby today. I haven't done that before. But why are baby clothes so freaking cute?! I couldn't resist! Way over priced...
Also, I started stressing today about my lack of French skills. And realizing that all our kids school plays will be in French. My side of the family will never be able to enjoy them
Oh. And DH and I were trying to make plans for child care. It's stressing me out. Our work schedules are not compatible with child care. We work 12+ hour days, 2 days then 2 nights. And it's a rotating 8 day week. So we have weekends. Not only does child care not accommodate 13 hour days, but doesn't cover nights, and most don't do weekends at all either.

It's not even on my radar haha. The one St Patrick's day that was cool was in kindergarten where we made 4 leaf clover decorations at school, and over night the leprechauns came and left tiny foot prints in the magic dust they apparently give off...which now makes no sense . But it was magical to a 5 year old haha.

How are you feeling?: Overall, actually pretty good. Started prenatal yoga a few weeks ago and it def. helps keep away the aches and pains.
Rants/Raves:
Rave: got to see the twins on the ultrasound again last week. Granted, it was the lousy little portable ultrasound, but it was still good to see them.
Rant: spent the day figuring out our Easter plans. I think we finally got everything settled, but I hate how difficult it is to figure out the details for EVERY holiday. It just takes a lot of the joy out of them.

Meh. I have some Irish in me, but I don’t do too much to celebrate...other than maybe use it as an excuse to enjoy a Guinness (when I’m not pregnant).

Rants/Raves: I'm single parenting my toddler for a few days while my husband is out of town for work. I feel like I barely have the energy to take care of myself, so thoughts and good vibes would be appreciated!
Questions: Anyone else in that awkward in-between phase where their pants don't fit, but the bump is too small to hold up maternity pants? I'm very much at the "did she just have a big lunch?" phase.

How are you feeling?: Still super tired, it's been a rough couple weeks.
Rants/Raves: My little one had the stomach flu and was kind enough to share it with me. I've been so so sick the last week or so I'm finally starting to feel like myself.
Questions: Anyone else getting annoyed with people always bringing up name ideas? This is our third and people still haven't figured out ITS ANNOYING JUST STOP.
GTKY: Opinions on st Patrick's day? Love it, hate it? Somewhere in between? I enjoy st Paddys day. We always have a fun breakfast for the kids and dress up a bit. Hubby isn't Irish at all so he enjoys taking part in my family traditions (although we are more scottish than irish. lol). And we always say that DS1 came from the green beer I had 6 years ago

Rants/Raves: everyone had me convinced this baby would be a girl. Family and friends were begging for one from me. I’m so sad Dr just called with mat21 results and she said a boy. I hate that I’m sad but I was so convinced. I love my boys never wanted a girl but everyone wanted a girl and this is my last one. I can’t even tell anyone because it’s a surprise for everyone this time.
Questions: anyone have a mat21 end up being wrong? I read a few from another group.

How are you feeling?: Besides the EXHAUSTION, pretty good. Finally have an appetite, finally drinking water, my skin is clearing up a bit, feeling flutters, and got good news that Charlie is a-ok!
Rants/Raves: I did the math on our expenses and my jaw dropped when I figured out what it will cost to have one kid in aftercare and 2 in preschool.

I'm going to sound like a hypocrite, but feel whatever you need to feel, and try not to let other peoples desires influence you too much. Remember once he shows up you're going to love him.

Upcoming Appointments: Had an appt today. Baby looked great and was moving around a lot. No measurements because it was just an elective scan at the OB's office (when they usually do a gender scan).
How are you feeling?: Good! Feeling some little tickles of movement here and there.
Rants/Raves: Rant - I spent a lot of the afternoon with a very nice but stubborn client. Rave - It's been so nice out the last bunch of days. We had a long stretch of rain so it's nice to see the sun again.
Questions: Has anyone else had their fundal height (top of uterus) measured? And if so, where's it at, roughly? My OB did that measurement for the first time today and the top of my uterus is already higher than my belly button by an inch or more. My understanding is that for most women the top of the uterus is level with the belly button around 20 weeks. Apparently my pubic bone is a little high and also my torso is very short.

@mia8263 I think a bit of disappointment is understandable. I was happy when we found out baby B was a boy, but I would really like baby A to be a girl - it’s what I know, and I would love to be a girl mom again (especially since I already know that I’ll get to experience both). So I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for if A is a boy, but I’m sure I’ll be a little sad not to have one more girl.
@velvetskyy YES - my mother keeps giving us boy name suggestion. We’re not even discussing names until we know both genders so it seriously needs to stop.

@dogmomma096 Good luck on the studying. It's getting nice here and it's hard to avoid spring fever even though I have so much work. I find if I don't stretch my back gets sore, which like you indicated, is not a pregnancy problem so much as a general problem. What have you found helpful?
@chillycanadian That sounds really tough for child care. Is it possible to get some family help and/or a nanny? Is it possible one of you can find a better schedule? How are you feeling today? I may have already said this but with RLP stretching gently really really helps.
@velvetskyy We had a boy name picked out for so long that no in is suggesting names, but I do find it interesting how often people ask if we have a name.

The dress is returnable, but I actually ended up getting it for $40 on amazon, and it's one of those dresses that can be fancy or casual depending on how you accessorize, so I'm thinking of keeping it...
She now decided to make everyone's life easier they can do blue or purple, any shade. I actually own both blue and purple gowns, but the blue one if from my sister's wedding when I was only 5 months pregnant with my first, so I didn't get maternity just empire waist, and I'm not sure it's going to fit in May... The purple one is from another BIL's wedding and is maternity, but it needed some alternations, and I wasn't happy with how they came out, so I need to decide if I wear it anyway, or try and find a different seamstress to fix it...
But I'm giving her at least 2 weeks before I really start thinking about it to make sure she doesn't change her mind again!
@dogmomma096, school work while pregnant is no joke. When do you finish your degree/classes? My back pain has also been so bad. You can use a heating pad just not for too long but it doesn’t heat the body like a bath would for example. I have a massage scheduled for Sunday and I can’t wait.
@chillycanadian, will you be sending LO to French immersion? I was literally just thinking last week that I need to start practicing my French again because I want to speak to baby in French and he will go to French immersion. I used to be fluent but I haven’t used my French in so long. My plan is to become fluent again before we move back to Canada. Would a nanny work better for childcare?

I have had thyroid issues for almost 20 years (I was diagnosed when I was 10) and as long as you take your medication it's really not a big deal. My OB doesn't really even have anything to do with it. I have an endocrinologist, typically I see her annually, but when I'm pregnant I see her once a trimester. Whenever I go to my OB for an appointment they double check I'm still seeing her, and she's happy with my levels, and that's the extent of their involvement. Obviously, different practices will have different policies and being in a different country may complicate it farther, but I wouldn't worry too much. @Chillycanadian I hope that your family can see the enjoyment of watching your children’s preformances, regardless of language. That would be difficult for them, but especially you. Hope you’re feeling better.
I’ve been lurking & commenting randomly. I think I’m finally turning the corner of feeling better from the chest infections/strep/UTIs/etc.
As for your question...our kids will be going to full French school. DH first language is French, and it's suuuper important to him that the kids are fluent. He didn't learn any English until he was 8. Obviously we can't do that for our kids since my side of the family is Anglophone, but our plan for their best chance is that he (and his family) will speak exclusively in French to them, and my family and I will speak English. Apparently it works... Haha. And then Full French school, as opposed to French Immersion. Which is part of the reason we are moving. He wanted to make sure we were in the district for the best French school (there are only a few in the city). (And only children with at least 1 Francaphone parent can attend. All communication with the school is also in French. I had a chat with DH the other day about how ALL the homework help past grade 1 is gonna fall on him 😂).
@jrm_14 you are very right! The grandparents will still LOVE seeing the kids perform. Even if they don't understand. We had gone to DHs neices french plplay, and I felt SO lost for the second performance (older kids, not hers. She did a wizard of Oz 10 min play and I was easily able to follow). But the second play made NO sense to me. I was so lost, confused and frustrated. But then talking to DH after....he understands the language perfectly, but he had no idea what was going on either 😂 so I felt a lot better.

DH and I sat down to work out options for child care. We came up with 4. Most of them involve me requesting a shift transfer. One (which would be ideal for child care, and mean we would have a parent home at all times) would mean DH and I would NEVER have a single day off together. We would be completely opposite shifts. Which is how it was when we met (I finish my 4 days, he starts his 4). Which is super hard on the relationship.
But our only issue for care would be our first/last shift since one is coming off nights while the other starts days. And there can be start time overlap or OT. So we would need the kids in care from at least 530 am-8 am (and a bit longer would be great so whomever is coming off shift can get a bit of sleep. But finding care that starts at 530 is tough).
The best most ideal option, is if my little sister is serious about her joke/offer to be a live in Nanny. We could stay on the same shift. DH and I discussed terms of free room and board, use of vehicle, etc, plus small amount of weekly pay. And we would probably try to find a part time daycare spot to ease some of the burden on her, and try to arrange fairly regular grandparent days. But we have to discuss it with her.
It would mean DH and I could stay on the same shift. But it would mean my sister would be watching the kids for 62 hours/8 day cycle (24 hours of it overnight but hopefully she would get to sleep for a normal night).
Anyway, there are a few other options, including me going to a staggard peak shift, which leaves us with 2 days/week needing child care. (And 1 day off together per 8 day cycle) but again, weekends every other month makes it tough to find care.

TLDR: there are a couple options, potentially sister Nanny, or DH and I never seeing each other.
