TMI Tuesday: 3/12

Pregnancy: so beautiful and yet so gross.
So spill! (May be more literal for some of us than others.)

Re: TMI Tuesday: 3/12

  • I haven’t pooped in like a week and a half and I’m miserable. I’m debating on calling my OB. I’ve been taking 3-4 colace a day. OVER. THIS. SHIT.

@jenniferjoy37, try miralax. Start with a capful and then reduce once you start going. It's the only thing that helped me.

Edited to add, you can also try a saline enema. That always works for me as well, just plan on being home for the day:)

  • @jenniferjoy37 Magnesium powder! Garden of Life and Calm are two recommended brands, you mix it with hot water and it's like a warm crystal light type drink. You drink it before bed each night (or during the day, but it can help you go to sleep at night) and within a couple of days things will start moving again. + It's so safe that you can take it every day during pregnancy and breastfeeding to keep things moving.

  • @ameliabedelia-2 Miralax never did anything for me, even outside of pregnancy. The only thing that helped was drinking the magnesium sulfate (and then I’m on the toilet for at least 12 hours and praying that the fart I feel isn’t anything else.) haha!

@mamanbebe my mom had a bunch of magnesium pills that I would take, but I don’t feel that they worked very well. My poor body is a mess!

Ive tried the activia stuff, probiotics, magnesium pills, fiber gummies, foods full of fiber... the list goes on.
  • @jenniferjoy37 Do you work out regularly? That could help move things along.
  • @hestia14 I don’t typically work out due to my job taking up around 12-14 hours of my day, and DD to take care of at night, but I probably should be. I try to go on walks during my lunch break at work, but I haven’t been able to do that as much lately.
  • I don’t poop either. I brought it up to my doctor today and she said to take miralax every other day! I workout very regularly too and that doesn’t help at all 😂

my least favorite part is my boobs leaking. As well as the insane amount of discharge I’m producing.
  • @bartonolivia, ugh, the discharge. I woke up a few nights ago thinking my water had broken or I had peed myself....nope  :s

The gas! It is so bad + embarrassing!! 💨💨
  • @acgx Right? I'm not sure what's worse: the brain farts or actual farts
@ameliabedelia-2 Same...I wake up in the morning and have this dreadful thought that maybe it's blood. Fortunately it never is, but the last thing I need is to start my morning with a heart attack.
  • I've had a cough for a couple of days now, from being sick in Europe. So now when I get a coughing spell I pee myself a bit - thank god for liners!
  • @jenniferjoy37 That is a long list! I don't know if the pills work the same way the powder does, and I seem to think there are a couple different kinds of formulations, but if nothing else helps and you have a health food store nearby, check to see if they have individual packets of Calm magnesium powder. It's a nice way to try it out without investing in a huge container. :) I hope you find relief soon!
  • @jenniferjoy37 A good probiotic can help, or so I've been told! I get the Activia yogurt and add that and chia seeds or flax meal to smoothies for fiber.

My veins on my leg are really nasty. My two year old will come in when I'm on the toilet and say "Uh oh! Boo boo!" And kiss my leg🤣
  • @kingdommom Same with the vericose veins! I’ve had to get compression socks to help.... but mine is right at the crease of my knee, and it’s so painful!

@mamanbebe I swear I’ve tried it all and nothing works. It sucks.

This pregnancy I have had to cross my legs everytime I get a really bad cough. I've been sick so many times its ridiculous. So happy cold and flu season are just about over!
  • My nipples hurt most of the time. They are also starting to become more cone shapped, but not all the way, just like half of my nipple, so it looks lopsided. Haha!
  • Constipation, excess discharge, and the start of vulvar varicose veins. 😭😭😭

  • the discharge is killing me, dry areolas and nipples, skin tags... pregnancy is so fun LOL
  • Having fun time with DH last night... man needed a towel because I was wetter than normal. 😑
  • @jennm0724 OMG YES. Skin tags. Like whoa. Do not like.
@fromcatstokids My nipples hurt too! Also, I had semi-flat ones pre-pregnancy, and that’s changing in a hurry...

  • My nips are SO dark now.
  • @hakele I feel this. DS saw me drying off after shower this morning and pointed and laughed at my nips. 😒 Children are such a joy.

  • @hakele mine haven't darkened too much yet but last pregnancy my DH asked if I would be making chocolate milk

  • I've gained three inches on my butt that I'm pretty sure weren't there two weeks ago. That explains why my underwear doesn't fit!
  • Same here! It's driving me crazy!
  • @hestia14 my underwear have been killing me lately! I never gave much thought to it other than to take them off asap upon getting home. Your post got me thinking though... probably have to go buy some in a bigger size and see if that helps!
  • So I know we’ve covered excessive discharge... but I feel like the smell is worse when I use panty liners.  :s But the alternative is also unpleasant!
  • @cindler I try to go for the ones that say "no-show panties." They have a little bit of a seam around the leg holes, so they're not super tight, but they won't ride up like seamless. The no-show panties I have in my current size still fit pretty well. I only sleep in granny panties :p
  • Uncomfortable panties is one of the many reasons I chose to go commando for good about 20 years ago... I only wear them under a dress if I am not wearing pantyhose or leggings and if I need to use a pad for excessive menstrual flow. Other than that, I am anti panty (except for effect! ;) )
