R/R: my friend is in town visiting with her boyfriend, who I’ve never met. He’s so freaking quiet, I don’t know what to do with him! I’m an introvert also but he just like does not speak- it’s a bit awkward. He doesn’t even talk back much to DH who could talk to a wall. Oh well, I’m hoping he loosens up a bit and we have a fun weekend!

CS/Q: my bbt officially won’t work anymore so no more charts from me. I’ll wait till the end of this cycle to order a new one, just like I always wait till the last minute to buy tampons 🙄

WAYDTGKU: IVF consult

R/R: before I had scheduled the consultation, the RE's office finally got back to me about my question (thank God you can submit questions online and not have to call lol). If we had decided to do an IUI and that failed a 4th time, the IVF timeline would likely be that retrieval is late May/early June. Since we're not doing that, I'm guessing we're looking at early May. DH and I are traveling the last week in April so hopefully timing is perfect and not that week. Things are looking up and it probably helps that we're not really doing anything this month.

You wanted to come to my vow renewal but there was a blizzard. So I just came to you and the weather was nicer there. We went to Eat n’ Park and ate burgers and fried mozzarella sticks lol.

R/R: What was supposed to be an innocent time of going to our favorite restaurant and me being a good girl and getting ahi tuna and a Diet Coke turned into me getting a shrimp po boy, pub pretzels with cheese, and some hard ciders. I had some crazy dreams last night and one of them included Pauline from FighterDiet visiting me and looked at my empty drinks and food and was like “What are you doing? Why are you sabotaging your goals?”. Sooooo I’m going to the gym in a jiffy lol. Bad Brookie!!!

CS/Q: Nah! But AF is back and/or started? Go home body, you’re drunk!

R/R: We have a dinner party tonight for DH’s birthday with all his extended family. We also have another party next week with some of his family that can’t make it tonight. Sometimes I find all these get-togethers really draining. The IL’s also usually invite us for dinner on Sunday, which is really nice but I’m trying to think of a way to say no thanks if they ask us to come over tomorrow.. I’m not good at saying no!

CS/Q: Still a bit worried about the pain I had the other day since O doesn’t seem to be happening yet. I was reading it could be a cyst growing or bursting? No more Dr. Google for me.

@misshelen86 That’s tough with all the get togethers!!! Maybe try to make a plan to do something else tomorrow so you can say no? Also I would maybe do a quick call to your doctor just in case if the pain was that bad. Cysts are no joke!

@brookert615 Thanks.. I might give my doc a call on Monday if I still have no signs of O. I’m feeling fine now but the pain was pretty intense for a while- although it went away completely if I just stayed curled up in a ball!

@ruby696 GL w/ IUI #1! Also glad to see someone else on the maca train. I don't have the right kind (I bought it on sale at HomeGoods like the frugal lady I am), but if nothing else it benefits my mood.

@littleredm We are CD1 twins-- I want to say "yay" but--I know that's not much to yay about haha.

@b_1029 MH can be totally like yr friend's bf esp. when he first meets ppl. I feel like I asked him a lot when we were first together "are you having a good time?" And he would say, "I just like to observe"--but that really only isn't awkward in bigger crowds. Going to the movies w/ quiet people is good bc you don't really talk during a movie--or at least you're not supposed to?

R/R: Sooooo as I feared/predicted, w/ CD1's arrival today, FF's says my FW will likely be when I'm in Portland for a conference & DH is home. -_- It's also our birthday week (we're 3 days [& 5 yrs] apart). And he was *supposed* to come w/ me to PDX, but money stuff got in the way. (We went to Jamaica even though he lost a wk of work bc someone else footed that bill.) (& part of the issue isn't that he isn't working, but that he hasn't gotten paid for the past SIX weeks, which is... we're super mad about it. Like, what is this, the gov't shutdown?!) / At least it's a new cycle? I've been looking forward to CD1 because it means we're un-benched, despite my rant. (Sigh.)

R/R: Rave: Got in 10,000+ steps the last few days & lost 2 pounds this week, hooray! Got 8 hours of sleep last night, felt great after a 13-hour workday! Gonna really try to keep getting 7-8 hours, it’s so important for good health. Rant: Woke up to DH bringing doughnuts into the house. I ate one. He’s such an enabler.

@keikilove my boss brought in donuts this week since his wife grilled him on not doing it back when it was employee appreciation day. The very next day there were more donuts from someone else! Such a treat that can't be resisted.

R/R: It has been a week since my flu symptoms started and I can’t wait to feel 100%! Someone donated a good chunk of change to fund my classroom project and that made my day yesterday. I wish I could muster energy to grade some papers because tomorrow is gonna be a long day at the ILs.

CS/Q: haven’t been temping since CD1 since I was sick

@keikilove I'm seriously eating a pint of ice cream while reading about your weightloss. So. Much. Shame.

@kagesstarshroom I use red maca capsules from The Maca Team. I love it. I don't spot for days before my period anymore and it doesn't taste bad. I recommend when you refill.

@misshelen86 I've trained DH to ask before he commits and then when I say no, he has to tell his parents. I get pretty grouchy when people try to take over my entire weekend.

@brookert615 A shrimp po' boy sounds delicious. Glad you let yourself cut loose and good work getting back to it so quickly!

R/R: Getting a BFN and AF while my IL's are visiting has been frustrating... Yesterday my MIL made a big deal about me lying down for a nap because she thought I was mad at her. I think DH is going to take them out and give me some time to myself to watch Queer Eye S3 with a heating pad. Edited.

@ruby696 nope but it hasn’t improved at all- I said something to my friend about how he’s either not impressed or he hates everything we’ve done. She was like omg no that’s his his demeanor, he’s having a great time! ....he has looked so unimpressed and bored the whole time, like he would literally take being anywhere else over here lol. If that’s his personality, I have no idea why my friend is attracted to him because she’s fun and outgoing. Yay for new tires!

@brookert615 soooooo....when are your vow renewals 😂 sounds fun to me. Lol to “an innocent time”. Glad you enjoyed yourself and I’m sorry AF is being stupid.

@misshelen86 I totally understand all the family time being draining. Hope you had fun last night. I wish I could help with your whole pain thing, what you described before sounded like ovulation to me (at least how it feels to me)- when I’ve tried it it happens before, during, or after O I couldn’t find a definitive answer. Hopefully that’s all it is!

Hi ladies. I've been MIA for about 6 weeks after a bad run of sickness through my house. I figured CD1 was as good a day as any to get back on track.

@b_1029 - hope your weekend is going well. i agree, quiet people you don't know but make up a large part of a group can be.. uncomfortable.
@inthewoods23 - glad your REI visit left you with a plan. how exciting!
@ruby696 - new tires are awesome! i definitely pushed my last ones to the limit eek
@misshelen86 - hope the party was more fun that you thought it would be
@kagesstarshroom - sorry for CD1. always obnoxious when FF predicts and untimely FW.

@ruby696 Yes that’s exactly how it feels, like your weekend is being taken away! We have the same system, where DH has to ask me first.. but the problem comes in when the IL’s ask us when we are together and he looks at me to answer! So yesterday we made a game plan ahead of time for what we would say if they asked us over the next day. We never got an invite, so it wasn’t an issue!

@bobbyflies2020 OMG does your MIL always make things about her? That sounds so frustrating to deal with that on top of AF and a BFN.

@b_1029 It was a fun night! I was really hoping it was just O, but still no positive OPK or rise in HR.. but also no more pain so I guess that’s good. I was reading that apparently some discomfort can be normal, but if it’s painful enough to interfere with your daily functioning, this is not normal.

@sevenn Welcome back! Sorry for CD 1 and LP messing with you. Hope you are able to take some time for yourself these next few days!

@misshelen86 Lol, we do the same thing! I usually anticipate what my MIL is going to want, so I prep DH ahead of time. I don't tell him that's what I'm doing and I totally works - he knows exactly what to say without having to look to me for an answer.

Most of the time I have no problem saying yes, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood.

@misshelen86 Yes, she is a notoriously difficult person and I tell Jeff I can only see her 3 times a year. Have you ever seen the movie "Monster-in-Law" with JLo and Jane Fonda? She is very similar, minus the poisoning.
