I have 3 kids ages 9, 5, and 2. My first prenatal appointment is next week and they will be doing a dating ultrasound. My oldest (daughter) wants to go to the ultrasound with me. Of course, it depends on the practice as to whether they allow kids or not, but assuming they are ok with it would you let your kids go in with you? I’m not worried about their behavior. If anyone acts up, my hubby will just take them out. I’m worried about if something is wrong, how they will handle it—mainly the 9 year old. I’m thinking of just telling her that they don’t allow kids.
We are actually planning to take our son who will be 2 this month, granted he would not understand if they had to tell us something was wrong, but I imagine they would have the decency to ask to have her taken out of the room. With the age she is she’d likely ask you about it after the fact. That’s a totally personal decision I think!
No. Under no circumstances would my kids be there. I've had 2 MMC. I would absolutely not want my kids in the room for that.
And also, my provider has a very strict no children in the US room policy.
Eta- Its not just about them being there for it being discovered. It's the emotional turmoil that's experienced. It's that there is no one to support you if YH has to leave the room with her.
