@cmdesigner my entire pregnancy with my daughter ALL I WANTED was an italian sub... and I usually dont even eat those types of meats!! But it was the first thing I had after I delivered her, and it was awesome!! I'm avoiding cold cuts too... I know there are ways to heat it up & then eat but that just doesn't seem like it would be the same to me.
I may have already said this earlier but just about every afternoon when I get home from work I have to have a little ramekin of hamburger dill pickle chips with some kind of cheese (a slice of Swiss, a hunk of Parmesan, a few chunks of feta... I don't discriminate).
I'm also with a lot of you on the cereal. My go-tos are Life or Cheerios.
I've also been really into salads at lunch (I've been on a Greek salad/dressing kick recently) which I'm happy about, but that's not any different from before I was pregnant.
I still don't think I've had any true have to have it cravings or yuck absolutely not aversions yet though.
@MsBeachNJ with DS I craved ham sandwiches and didn't want hot sandwiches, so I'd heat the meat and let it cool and make the sandwich - you're right, it really isn't the same (at least not the way I heated it, in a pan), but I got so used to it that I kept heating the meat after DS was born .
Just getting caught up from the last couple weeks and I kid you not I bought two CASES of Girl Scout cookies 🙈. DH is rationing me. Last pregnancy all I wanted was subs (my doc said it was okay as long as meat was sliced same day), salad and fruit. This time I am all over the place but have been on an Asian kick for the last couple weeks. That rice vinegar 😍. And then all the carbs/bruschetta.
@septoctkids I craved nothing but sweets with my first and it was a boy! This time I’m craving salty and cheesy and hoping for a girl! I don’t think there’s any truth to the cravings!
Every thing. I'm eating everything except meat and fatty/greasy foods, which make me want to vomit. Those are the foods we used to eat on keto and my husband still eats. I'm trying to be supportive of his eating habits since he has had so much success, so I go to the grocery store on my lunch on Mondays and keep my food at work. This week's trip included: Pringles Granola bars (chocolate of course) Hershey bar (how much chocolate is too much bc I literally cannot stop...no really...i ate 2 chocolate sandwiches in 1 day, which are smores without marshmallows). Chocolate chip muffins....maybe i have a problem? Honey nut cheerios and milk
I’m just a pregnant woman standing over some scrambled eggs she just made wondering why this great source of protein has to smell so putrid. Can’t I just eat bagels all day every day?!?!?!
This morning I'm forcing hubby and DS to get their butts up in the next hour so we can go get Dim Sum (I've been trying to go for 2 weeks but the stupid snow and ice and all sorts of awful weather here keeps messing up my plans!)
Tonight I have a birthday party for a friend and the host is making fried chicken. I'm making buffalo chicken dip and spinach and artichoke dip. I've never made the spinach and artichoke dip from scratch. Anyone have a good recipe?!? I like it good and cheesy! Also I want to make some form of non-alcoholic drink that they can all add their booze too. What should I do? Blueberry Moscow Mule? Strawberry Basil Mint Mojito?!?! I DON'T KNOW I WANT IT ALLLLLL!
Everything. More of the everything that includes carbs and minimizes healthy things. I'm going to gain so much weight this time, I just know it. I feel like I'm already up a handful of pounds. This week I've had a burger w/ fries, fried shrip w/ fries and a grilled salmon sandwich (yay healthier) but got a cookie to go with it. LOL. The hunger is real. And now I'm hungry again reading this thread. Dang it!
@mamaber2204 I PROMISED myself I’d be better this pregnancy and not gain as much... *admits ashamedly as my husband is out picking up pizza and mozzarella sticks*
It’s official: I am already up 20lbs. I don’t care though! Honestly, it comes off. So for any mamas stressing, don’t! My dr won’t even talk about weight or weight guidelines.
This is my 3rd and I’ve come to accept this: my body will do what it will. When I am pregnant, my body is possessed. No matter what I do, I gain 20-25 lbs per tri. I am also a combination of hungry/nauseous. So comfort food it is. Anyone else like this?
I had pizza and garlic knots for dinner last night. And I’ll be enjoying a bagel and coffee shortly! Woohoo!
@rms924 I may have just taken a screenshot of your comment so I can remind myself whenever I start to feel guilty for indulging. Thanks for keeping it real and reassuring!
@cammie0526 hugs! I totally felt that way w my first pregnancy. And I worked out and watched what I ate and still ended up gaining the same amount of weight. Don’t stress it!
Oh man, I still can’t stomach any of this wonderful stuff you all are talking about. Can’t even read about it sometimes! Soon enough, I hope!!
on the weight gain- I think pregnancies and body types are all different and it’s best to do what feels best and not worry about others! We all have different chemical make ups! I gained 44 pounds in my last pregnancy, and I haven’t gained a pound yet this time around. I’m trying to just trust my body and craving what it needs!? I’ve struggled SO hard to take my prenatal this pregnancy (nausea!), and have been craving salad and greens SO much! I think my body is helping me to get the folate that I need!? I certainly needed the extra pounds and calories last pregnancy for breastfeeding, so it worked out fiiiiiiiiine.
@blitzybee I’ve been craving salad this pregnancy too! So weird haha but I’ll take it... I should mention I crave that along with a lot of junk food though 😂
I’m not loving eating meat but it makes a 100% difference in how I feel so I’ve been eating a lot of organic chicken sausages, hard boiled eggs, chicken and salmon.
In terms of what I WANT... sweets! Yesterday was cheesecake (but only from Cheesecake Factory) and today is hot baked chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. I don’t indulge often but did pick up some break n bales today
Ohhhhh also, sour patch kids berriesare also the most amazing things ever! Not the red ones though—just the blue, pink, and purple... drooooooliiiiinnggg! Aannnnnd we wonder why I can’t curb this heartburn...
@sunshine2417 those sound amazing! The blue pink and purple only of course! I love sourpatch watermelons. Random fun fact...did you know the design on top of sour patch candy bags are in the shape of sourpatch kids?!
I'm so frustrated, I feel like my stomach holds next to nothing. I don't eat, I get nauseous, I eat too much, I get nauseous. My stomach is also super full so fast. Ugh.
@cheshyre219 ugh, I feel the same way. Like a normal to small meal leaves me feeling nauseatingly full for hours. (And overeating delicious things in general is one of my worst habits, so it's really hard to stop eating before I hit the limit.)
@cheshyre319 I have this problem too. It's been so hard to find a perfect balance, especially because I can't for the life of my figure out what I want to eat.
@RedBreast35 I'm the same way with overeating delicious things. I also eat really fast because I'm used to only having 10 minutes to scarf down lunch at work.
@lillywonderland Honey nut cheerios with almond milk was my go to breakfast before I got pregnant.
We're having a potluck for lunch at work today. I went into the lounge to put my dish in there, and NOTHING looks good. Someone brought in what looks like cat sick in a crockpot and I wanted to die.
@RedBreast35 🤣 Tehnicalllllllllllly I did add some sugar to it so make it more tasty. I need to pick up some Honey Nut Cheerios (HNC!!) because they are delish!!
@themadcamel HNC was my go to in the MOTN when breastfeeding DS. I was so f*cking hungry but too lazy and sleepy to do/make anything.
So my mom made these homemade lactation cookies with DS that were so good. I realized I totally want her to make them when she is hear next. DS is still nursing so it kind of counts. It's all I can think of.
@themadcamel they are just cookies, made generally with oats and maybe fenugreek and other milk-producing ingredients! They're supposed to help up your supply when BFing or pumping!
@janat1717 I’m intrigued that you’re still nursing your DS! I am too. How old is your DS? Are you going to wean him before your second is born? I’ve been letting my son self wean. He’s down to just a feeding before bed which is very short.. not even 10 minutes, and then he will “snack” occasionally once during the day. I’ve been wondering if anyone else was in the same position with still bfing their child. I know my supply has definitely dropped since becoming pregnant.

This is probably huge, but it's yummy. I just used a bag of parmesan and like half a cup of mozzarella for the cheeses.
