Any appointments? Questions? Had my midwife appointment on Monday. Everything looks good! I asked her about cervical checks and they don't do them which is nice. Next appointment we will talk about inducing if I go past my due date (I hate that can even happen!)
Rants/Raves? Raves: Baby is kicking a ton but not enough to be super uncomfortable so I really like this phase. Rants: Well, just about everything else sucks.
How are you feeling? Gross. Ready for this to be over.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Finishing up washing clothes and swaddles and ordered the last items off my registry. I'm getting close to finishing my list (although I seem to just add more things to the list once I take things off)
GTKY: What’s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? Not sure if this is the nicest, but around Christmas-time, I had the car ahead of me in the Starbucks line pay for my drink and food. So I paid for the person behind me I love when people do that!
Any appointments? Questions? Yesterday was my growth scan and next week I have my regular OB check up.
Rants/Raves? Raves: DH has been really great - he bought me pasta from this Italian place tonight that I’ve been craving and he got us tickets to see Captain Marvel this weekend. I haven’t been up for doing a lot outside of work and getting ready for the baby so it’s nice that he keeps doing little things to encourage me to relax and to help me take my mind off of my stress. Rants: I’m really over having to deal with other people at this point.
How are you feeling? I’m uncomfortable, tired, and I can’t stop crying over the littlest inconveniences.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? We’ve been putting away baby shower gifts and DH got the dresser all set up so I was able to put away all of LO’s clothes. I really need to sit down and write thank you notes.
GTKY: What’s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? I’m not sure it’s the nicest, but back in January a stranger saw my boss carrying event supplies down the street to our Lyft and as I went to lift up the other supplies, he stopped me and took everything over to the car for me. It was just such a nice gesture when most people wouldn’t have noticed a pregnant lady struggling.
@rennie1108 , someone paid for my order at Dunkin Donuts just the other day too, so I paid for the person behind me. I agree it's such a nice and unexpected gesture that should happen more!
@jlklec19 , I'm so done dealing with people as well. I wish I could be a hermit until this baby comes out, lol.
Due date: April 10th.
Any appointments? Questions? Not until next week. Hoping my doctor will be cool with me denying a cervical check as well.
Rants/Raves? Rant: I have no patience anymore and I'm overwhelmed to the point of tears everyday. Not sure how I can do this for another 5 weeks. Rave: I've felt pretty on top of my game at work this week, even though I'm exhausted.
How are you feeling? Hip/glute pain continues to quite literally be a pain in the ass, plus I'm pretty sure I managed to avoid hemorrhoids until this week and they've come with a vengeance.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? My sister dropped off some hand me downs, if that counts. Other than that... nope.
GTKY: What’s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? Not totally a stranger since I teach their kiddos, but I had a birthday party kid's dad give me a huge brownie at the party I worked last weekend because I said it looked delicious, haha.
Any appointments? Questions? No appts until next week, then I'm on the "weekly plan" as my doc calls it...
Rants/Raves? Pregnancy is medieval torture. I'm sure of it. But on the plus side, this hellscape will be over soon?
How are you feeling? See above. Medieval torture. So not great. Get this things out of my body.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Actually I did. I put together the crib, organized the nursery, washed and sorted all the baby clothes and bought a diaper pail.
GTKY: What’s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? Well... strangers have kind of sucked lately, so I'm blanking a bit... but a recent thing by a not stranger that is awesome is DH's buddy, who is also a licensed contractor, is putting our basement back together for us after some pretty catastrophic flooding we had in January. Even though he has a F/T job, he is doing like 14 hour days on his days off so he can have our house back together before the baby gets here. He is also building me custom bookshelves in my office "just because." He said he thought they'd be nicer than something I'd buy at a store.
@rennie1108 I love when people pay for each other in the drive thru. I always wonder who the last person is who breaks the chain... @jlklec19 I must be crying more too. H sounded a tad annoyed when he asked why I was crying last night. I had a hard day and my hormones are all over the place. Lay off me. @kangstadt My doctor told me yesterday that she won't do the checks until I'm in labour, or getting close to my due date without any signs of progress. I'm hoping everyone is just kind of phasing them out. @kate_e_nb Torture and hellscape are such accurate descriptions!
Due date: April 8
Any appointments? Questions? Saw my doc yesterday one more 2 week appointment then every week.
Rants/Raves? Got my doctors note to go off work effective March 14. I'm feeling relieved that there is an end in sight but now I'm scrambling at work trying to get everything wrapped up. My replacement doesn't start until the 18th and she doesn't have experience in my field. Not my problem, I suppose, but hard not to think about.
How are you feeling? Tired and soooo sore.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Bought a van last week. Hopefully I'll get to do some major nesting when I'm off work.
GTKY: What’s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? When I was in college I was suuuper late to class and I had an exam to write. Of course there were no parking spots available in the lots where you could pay with a card and I didn't have cash on me but the cash parking attendant listened to my whiney plea and let me in for free! Such a sweet man. I think of him often. And how many stressed out students probably have the same sob story for him....?
Me: 31 H: 36 L & N twin girls: 3yo. Born at 30 weeks. 2 month NICU stay BFP Aug 2018: EDD April 2019
Any appointments? Questions? Just had one today, everything looks great! Had protein in my urine last appointment but none this time! Start getting checked next week!
Rants/Raves? I'm too tired to rant lol still just raving that I'm nearing the end
How are you feeling? Tired. So tired. But okay otherwise, enjoying these last few weeks with having my one son. Also might stop working next week.
Did you do anything to prep for baby this week? Not really, just nesting!
GTKY: What’s the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? Great question.. hmm.. probably paying for my meal and telling me I was doing a good job as a mom
@elmich3, I keep getting weepy when I think how the next few weeks are my last with "just one," kiddo. Then I get kicked in the ribs and feel like I'm ready to go into labor now to get this over with, lol. The emotional roller coaster is real.
@kangstadt Oh I'm right there with you! I think I've been so focused on wanting this baby out that I forgot this is my last few weeks with DS! Now I've been emotional about it and taking him out on special trips looking at him all teary eyed as he probably wonders, what is going on with my weird mom...? Lol
Oh and I had to add... I had the hardest time thinking of a something nice a stranger had done when I wrote my thing, thinking that hasn't happened in forever.
Then the same night I was sitting by a window, out to eat with my mom. A woman in the parking lot gave me the biggest smile, which I thought was odd because I didnt know her. She came inside just to tap me on the shoulder and say, "I just had to come in because I saw you through the window and thought you were so beautiful and I love your makeup. Have a great day!" And left! I was dumbfounded lol Being about 9 months pregnant, uncomfortable and feeling no where near beautiful, I wanted to cry. Lol it was very nice.
