Infertility

I'm new here- Time line question

Hey everyone. Been lurking for a little bit. I'm 35, DH is 38 and we've been married for a year and a half. I have a history of endometriosis and CIN 3 where I had a portion of my cervix removed. Just went to RE a few weeks ago at the recommendation of my GYN. Haven't had normal cycles since going off of my BC pills (about 40-50 days per cycle).  RE told me that with my history (one of my tube got stuck to side wall of uterus due to scar tissue so I needed surgery to fix it) , my tubes are compromised and I'm at a super high risk for ectopic pregnancy so it's a good thing I never got pregnant alone. I did all my blood work and baseline US. DH did his blood and analysis.  Don't see the RE again for another 2 weeks.  What's next? Can anyone give me a possible time line of events? I'm feeling anxious.

Re: I'm new here- Time line question

  • Hey! So I am in the middle of this process, I'm sure there will be more experienced ladies commenting on this. For us its going like this....Feb 4 was initial us/labs.They did all the diagnostic stuff and the ultrasound to count my follicles. All of February was waiting for test results, getting a couple more tests done, etc. I finally got my period last week and they started me on birth control. All of my tests looked great and DH had good test results as well. So here's our plan. 18 days of birth control, off for 3 days (may or may not start bleeding), us/labs to retest day 2 levels. Start fertility shots for 10 days then do trigger shot. Egg retrieval is scheduled for somewhere between the end of this month and the 3rd of april. Then my dr will make me wait until the first week of June to do FET. She said she wants to have 2 period in there to make sure my body comes off all the medications and that my uterus isnt a hostile environment when they do the transfer. So for us, we started beginning of February and will have FET tentatively the beginning of June....its a lot longer than I thought it would be!

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • @jsull1020 I’m in a similar spot as you. After my baseline US, they put me on a five day Clomid Challenge test. I went in today for another blood test to get my new FSH score. Tomorrow, I go in for the mock transfer and the saline sonogram. We still don’t know when we actually start, but we sure must be getting close. Best wishes to you!
  • thank you @ktrabing and @makana11 for your replies! Good luck to you both! I am not sure if I'm going to need the saline sonogram but from what I hear, it's not pleasant so I'm nervous!  I should have also stated that for insurance payment purposes I'm going to need two more periods before they'll cover any of this. Since I'm not getting them on my own, my RE will have to step in with some medications for that so really no idea how long this will all be for me. Waiting is the hardest part!
