2. Baby is the size of: a navel orange (today's is an eggo waffle)
3. Team blue
4. Upcoming appointment on the 12th. I think it will just be a heartbeat check and everyone's favorite: a pap smear.
5. Feeling ok... I'm still tired, and last week I threw up hard core just about every day. So far the 2nd tri hasn't been any better than the first, but hopefully will turn around soon!
6. Rants: I'm trying to keep up with my kegels but so far they're not working so great - I think I need to wear a pad at night to catch the leaks while I'm sleeping... So gross. I didn't have this issue at all with my first pregnancy. Raves: I'm definitely feeling DS moving! I thought I could a few weeks ago but it was really sporadic so I wasn't sure with it being so early. But now it's every day, especially when I have something cold to drink. I love it!
7. Questions? Nope.
8. GTKY, favorite childhood memory: Pretty much anytime I was with my grandparents. They were just wonderful, storybook grandparents. I miss them!
Next appointment is March 11. Hoping to come off bed rest and progesterone. Looking forward to seeing baby again and getting that reassurance.
I am feeling like crap. Yesterday, I suddenly had vision loss in 1 eye in the morning. Also with lightening flashes in the eye. Not good times. It was then followed by an occular migraine, which became a full migraine. And now a tension headache. GI upset and all that crap. Probably my 3rd full migraine in my life. Anyway..really hoping my physiotherapist can get me in tomorrow morning to deal with my neck.
Rant....not being able to take advil. I miss Advil. I need Advil. It would help so much right now. Tylenol is so useless. Rave about DH who pulled out our massage table and has been working on my neck to try to help.
I think my favourite childhood memories are my parents reading to us. And my dad enlisting my help to hide a secret package before he left on a business trip. I was probably about 5. Felt so special. Turned out to be a book that he then read to us.
@skp480 Hopefully you feel better soon! Kegels seem to make my belly feel queasy. It’s so weird. I’m on Team Pad with you for leaking. Ugh. (FTM, even).
@chillycanadian Feel better soon! That’s really nice of YH to help work on your neck. My parents read to me every single night, even into middle school. It still floors me that so many parents don’t read to children
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 14+2/Aug 30
Baby is the size of a(n): standard light bulb
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): As of Thursday, blue!
Upcoming Appointments: 3/06- OB; 03/11- MFM
How are you feeling?: I cannot get rid of this cold! My throat & cough both hurt so much. Pregnancy wise, pretty good! I’m starting to run out of room on my belly for Heparin shots, which means my stomach is full of bruises that hurt every time I accidentally hit them.
Rants/Raves: My parents will be here next weekend. I’m looking forward to spending time with my mom.
Questions: None today!
GTKY: My parents reading to us every night before bedtime is certainly up there! One time, my mom picked my sister & I up from GS camp on my birthday. She surprised me with a trip straight to Precious Moments Chapel. It was the best for about an 8yo!
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): will find out at anatomy scan
Upcoming Appointments: this Friday for standard OB check-up
How are you feeling?: Ok, have this cough that I can't seem to shake, it gets better and worse but never really goes away. Means I'm also on team pad.
Rants/Raves: Rant: see above about cough, we're away for the weekend, and it's super embarrassing that I did not pack enough undies. Rave: We're visiting family and it's nice to see everyone and have others to play with the boys.
Questions: none.
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory? My dad owns his own business, and it was always fun visiting his office and having the run of the place. I remember one time he took me to the vending machine and opened it with his own key and gave me chocolate. I thought that was so cool.
@skp480 Wow that’s so cool you can already feel him! I’m sorry about the leaks. @chillycanadian I hope your appt releases you from bed rest. I’m sorry about the terrible migraine! That is terrible. Glad YH is helping with your neck. @jrm_14 That sucks about the heparin shots. I assume you have to do them the entire pregnancy? Can you move to the butt or hips or something? My dad always used to read to us. @mrosek91 I’m sorry about the cough! For those with leaking issues - I’m not having those but I was at a party last week (ladies only) and someone was raving about a vaginal weight set. I ordered them and once I get them and use them I’ll report back but she seemed to say you put one in and just go about your business for 20 minutes or so and it strengthens your muscles. I’m bad at remembering to do kegels so I’m hoping this works better.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/29 / 14w3d
Baby is the size of a(n): Peach I think?
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: We had an appt on 2/25 that went well, and then another on 3/18 to do another scan and a blood draw to make sure his spine is closed.
How are you feeling?: Good. I’m so lucky I really don’t have much in the way of symptoms. I did manage to take a nap yesterday and today which means I must be really tired because usually during the day when I lie down I can’t sleep.
Rants/Raves: Rave - told my boss today and he is very excited for us. I’m starting to really plump around the middle so I feel like it’s time to share with a few more people. I made a photo card for my grandmother that I’m going to send her with instructions to call me when she gets it.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory? It’s hard to pick a favorite - like a lot of you I enjoyed being read to as a kid. I also have amazing memories of riding my bike in this place we used to go in the summer. It was very safe so I could just go where I wanted.
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue + ?
Upcoming Appointments: two more weeks, just a check-in with the nurse practitioner.
How are you feeling?: Significantly less nauseous! Got a cold from my kid this week, so that derailed my productivity a bit.
Rants/Raves: Rant -I’m generally annoyed about not being able to take a decongestant while pregnant - instead of being able to power through a cold, I end up laying around like a useless lump for a couple of days. Rave- finally went to a prenatal yoga class today. Same place I went when I was pregnant with DD. Felt good to be back.
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory? Basically every single Christmas morning. Coming downstairs, turning on the lights on the tree, seeing all the full stockings, the glorious smell of the tree...it was amazing.
Sorry everyone. Had to post and run yesterday since I was heading out.
@skp480, I have also been trying to work on my kegels as it is very needed.
@chillycanadian, I hope you get off bed rest soon. I've also been getting horrible headaches and migraines and it sucks to not be able to take Advil. I don't even own Tylenol. I hate it.
@jrm_14, how long do you have to do the Heparin shots? Congrats on team boy!!! Hope you have a good time with your parents.
@mrosek91, I have been sneezing so much because of allergies, which has resulted in similar problems. Good luck on your appointment this week!
@zamora_spin, it's always so nice when your boss receives your news so well. How exciting that you are sharing the news! Let us know how it goes.
@aecm, also feel you on that. I miss my combo allergy pills so bad. Prenatal yoga is so great. It helps stretch things out.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: August 26 / 15 weeks
Baby is the size of a(n): Orange, avocado, eclair? Lol, such weird analogies.
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Boy
Upcoming Appointments: I had an appointment last Monday and got to see the little guy. Next one isn't until my anatomy scan on 04/01.
How are you feeling?: Pretty decent. My allergies have been so ridiculously bad and I miss my strong allergy meds. I missed 2 days of class last week. I have not stopped sneezing in far too long. I also have been getting terrible tension headaches and random bloody noses. Pregnancy is so great, isn't it? Lol. But I can eat again and I have energy so yay?
Rants/Raves: I have to go to my doctor for another blood test this week. My thyroid antibodies were within range but on the higher end so I have to go get it re-tested. I hope it's still within range because I don't want to deal with this. Can pregnancy make the levels rise? Also! I finally told my soon-to-be boss that I was pregnant (I had too because she told me that she was pregnant and due in August as well - 3 days before me) and she took it so well. So I begin May 20 and then go on maternity leave on July 26 until January 2020. I was really worried about telling them so I am very glad it was well-received. My cousin is currently visiting me and I am so happy. I miss my family so much and it is so nice to just have her here.
Questions: None for now.
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory?
I have so many great childhood memories. I was very close to my grandparents. My grandpa used to always take my sister and me to amusement parks and it was so fun. Or my grandma would teach me her native language when she lived with us. I also had some great ones with my parents, including all the amazing family road trips we did when I was younger. And Christmas! We are not religious at all (actually my dad is Muslim and my mom is Hindu) but christmas was always so special in our house. I am still obsessed with christmas because of how amazing my parents made it for us. I just loved spending time with them. This is primarily why I want to repatriate closer to them at some point so baby (and any future kids) can be close to my family and our friends.
@AKuzReve Not sure what allergy meds you have access to but I’ve taken Claritin (loratadine) almost every day I’ve been pregnant, and also sometimes Benadryl at night. Claritin and a couple of other allergy meds are considered safe (but not Claritin D). On the thyroid - unfortunately pregnancy can impact your thyroid. I hope you don’t have to be medicated but if you do there are thyroid meds that are pregnancy safe. Glad telling your new boss went well!
@zamora_spin, I am taking loratadine now to try and it works but not as well as my strong meds. I have seriously terrible allergies. I am allergic to all tree pollen, all grass pollen, and dust. It’s hell. I got it on Thursday so it seems to be working better than my last one.
I figured pregnancy impacted it as I’ve never had an issue despite both my dad and sister having it. I test once a year to make sure usually.
Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado or a yellow canary
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Just found out we are having a third boy!
Upcoming Appointments: March 18
How are you feeling?: Getting more energy finally, and definitely more hungry than before.
Rants/Raves: So relieved to finally have our third NIPT come back with good results!! DH is out of town but coming home tonight. I'm going to tell him the good news when he gets home, he doesn't know that I know yet since the results were supposed to be in on Wednesday.
Questions: Any other moms of 3 (or more) boys? I am now officially going to be the only girl in our house, aside from all our future dogs since I will have to get girls now, lol.
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory? I remember every winter when we would drive to visit my grandparents for the holiday. We would get to a certain point when we were in their city after the 8 hour drive that we would start counting in the car (I am sure it was SUPER annoying to my parents) but we were so excited for what we had in store for the week. Baking with my grandmother, taking the dog to "race" the rapids, so many. But my strongest one is always the anticipation we had before we arrived.
@AKuzReve I was diagniosed with Hashimotos when I was 10, which is a type of hypothyroidism. I always need to be monitored extra carefully during pregnancy because your levels do go wonky. But both my boys are healthy, and I know lots of other people who have thyroid issues and have had healthy pregnancies. I hope your tests come back normal but if not, it really is a very manageable issue. Feel free to DM me if you have questions.
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Green for now - find out in three weeks!
Upcoming Appointments: March 11
How are you feeling?: Good except for the cold I'm fighting off. It's giving me a terrible headache and sinus issues. I had a stomach bug last week, too. Both of which I have gotten from my toddler.
Rants/Raves: I am really tired of my coworkers. There is one in particular who I cannot stand, but my boss thinks she's the greatest gift to this organization and all I want to do is smack her fake smile off of her face. Trying to keep a peaceful attitude, and thankful that my office is far away from hers!
Questions: nope
GTKY: What is your favorite childhood memory? I don't know if I have one favorite, but any family vacation at the beach usually brings a smile to my face! I'm ready for warmer weather now
@AKuzReve If you aren't already - when my allergies get especially bad (may not be as bad as yours) I take a Claritin in the morning and also a Benadryl at night. I also use a Neti-Pot sometimes, although weirdly my allergies manifest as some congestion and but mostly as terrible headaches. Still, the Neti-Pot helps some. I hope it improves. On the thyroid if you have a family history I think the chances are even higher your thyroid will get out of wack during or even after pregnancy. My sister's thyroid went nuts a few months after she had my niece - in one month she had hypo an then hyper thyroid type numbers on her bw. @kminacap Ugh, that sucks you are so sick. I hope you recover soon and don't get sick again for a long time!
I’m bumping on mobile so will need to tag later, but I’m reading everyone’s updates I swear!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/31, 14+2
Baby is the size of a(n): beet
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): pink!!!
Upcoming Appointments: 3/18, just my 16 week appt. I think they are doing a blood draw for AFP and check the heartbeat, shouldn’t be much else.
How are you feeling?: Good! Starting to get more energy back. I think the warmer weather will help whenever spring decides to arrive.
Rants/Raves: We are slowly getting the nursery together and I just want to go into full nesting mode! Other than the dresser and crib though, we have to wait for most things until our shower in early July. I might try to stock up on neutral basics since we aren’t registering for clothing, and really I just want something to buy!
Questions: Anyone else getting the AFP blood draw? My OB’s office said it is optional but common to do, but also didn’t mention it until after my NT scan so idk if they would’ve told me about it in advance otherwise.
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory? I think every major holiday is definitely on top of my list! I have 4 siblings and a large extended family so holidays are always fun, even now, and generally drama free! I can’t wait to start holiday traditions with our LO.
@skp480 I love that you are able to feel baby moving so often! I haven’t felt anything yet that I am convinced is baby. @chillycanadian I hope you are feeling better today! That sure sounds miserable. @jrm_14 I hope your cold subsides soon! Being pregnant is hard enough! @mrosek91 Do you normally have leaking issues with pregnancy or has it been since your first baby? I always assumed it was associated with anytime after childbirth, but have seen people mention issues specifically during pregnancy. @zamora_spin I’m glad everything went well telling your boss! It was such a relief for me to finally have work know. @aecm I hope you kick your cold quickly! Seems like everyone is battling colds this week. @AKuzReve I’m glad all went well with telling your boss and you got your leave figured out!!! I’m super jealous of your time off! I hope your thyroid test goes well. @velvetskyy I’m so glad you got great NIPT results!! 3 boys! I have 3 brothers (and a sister) so it was always crazy at our house 😂 @kminacap Ugh your coworker sounds very annoying. Avoid at all costs!
@dogmomma096 I'm always so impressed that you respond to each person. It's an issue I've had since my first baby, but it gets worse when I'm sick or pregnant. So sick while pregnant is the worst.
@dogmomma096 Idk for sure what it’s called but around 16 1/2 weeks I’m having a blood draw that my dr described as testing to make sure baby’s spine has closed. He said it’s part of the quad screen but since I’ve had the NIPS don’t need the rest of the screening. I didn’t have an NT scan though.
rants/raves: nervous about telling my best friend about this pregnancy... she’s struggling for years.. this is my third. Don’t want to hurt her but I want to share my excitement.
Questions: against meat this pregnancy. Anyone else? Even smelling chicken makes me nauseas.
Favorite childhood memory: taking walks with my papa, holding hands and singing. Taking me to the nearby park. I miss him and I wish he knew my kids.
@mia8263 - I have almost never been able to eat meat while pregnant. It was really fun last time when I had gestational diabetes and basically had to live off peanut butter and almonds.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 15w + 3d / August 24
Baby is the size of a(n): Pear
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday for a check in and an early glucose test since I'm feeling early GD symptoms
How are you feeling?: Exhausted, HUGE (at 15w with #3 I am easily the same size I was at 20+w with my other two)
Rants/Raves: We found out yesterday we have up to two more weeks of wait time for results on our chromosome test
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory?: We grew up in Anaheim (until I was about 8), and we would frequently make day trips out of Disney. It was magical and fun and we could see fireworks from our house.
@dogmomma096 I am right there with you on wanting to buy stuff! I went to a consignment sale last Thursday and stuck to just the essentials and no clothes yet, but I *did* buy a bag of infant socks and they are so cute and tiny I'm just obsessed with them! (My 5yo daughter actually just walked in my room as I'm typing this, holding the bag of socks saying, "aww!!!")
@skp480 I'm sorry about the leaking! I can't stand doing kegels either, I find it really unpleasant--they almost make me anxious. I did do a workout video recently that encouraged you to lift your pelvic floor while doing the movements--squats/lunges, and that was actually more comfortable than just trying to do them at my desk or something.
@peachy0709 I am a STM, and I am so much bigger at 14 weeks than I was last time around too! Thinking of you as you wait for your results!
@mia8263 I am sorry you are still struggling with morning sickness!
@dogmomma096 It's so much fun having a LO at the holidays and starting new traditions!
@zamora_spin I am so curious to hear more about this weight set! Also, I am glad it went well telling your boss!
@aecm I miss decongestants so bad during pregnancy too. They make all the difference for me too. Hope you feel better soon!
@kminacap I also have a staff member that pushes my buttons and is well regarded beyond what I think performance merits... I am trying to approach things with compassion and an open mind, but some days I fail at it and just end up irritated. I struggle with this a lot.
@AKuzReve I am so sorry for your allergies. I hope you can find some relief!
@velvetskyy I am so glad you finally got conclusive NIPT results and they were good!
@mrosek91 Did you end up telling your family this weekend? How did it go?
@chillycanadian I am srry about your migrane, that sounds awful I hope your physiotherapist can provide some relief.
Upcoming Appointments: We have an US tomorrow. I called my DR last week--it's not an NT scan since I did the NIPT, but I guess they just like to do an US at 14 weeks? I'll take it. ***TW: LOSS MENTIONED*** Before DS was born I had a MMC that we learned about at our NT scan. This pregnancy I have had much less PGAL anxiety, but it's creeping up ahead of this scan. Ultimately, I think it will be ok, but I'm having a lot of feelings today. *END TW*
How are you feeling?: Physically pretty good. Really tired but nausea has subsided. Mentally, a little anxious as explained above.
Rants/Raves: I know it could definitely be worse, but our tax return is 70% less than last year (exercising all the restraint I have to not make a political statement..........). I am grateful we don't have to pay, but we were planning on it being a cushion during mat leave, since I don't get paid leave. I work for a nonprofit that works on housing with low income families, and I am so thankful that none of them got behind on this Christmas--usually people fall a little behind over the holidays and then catch back up when they get their tax return. I worry about how this will impact them, and I am so glad they are all at least current on their housing expenses!
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favourite childhood memory? Our family had a small boat growing up and every weekend in the summer we would take it to this beach and spend all day there. My favorite memories are of staying there late into the evening, eating hot dogs that tasted a bit like propane from the coleman camp stove, and wrapping up in a sweatshirt and towels after one more last swim.
@Amdogger82 It's always hard to shake those PGAL worries. They just sneak up on you right when you think you're feeling okay. We're always here if you need a safe space.
@Amdogger82 I told people if it came up in conversation, like if they asked me my summer plans... In the end I think I hit at least 4 out of 6 aunts, and his 2 girl cousins I'm closest with. 2 of the aunts I only ended up seeing at the fundraiser, and it was too busy to really talk. They might have figured it out from my dress though... I forgot to snap a picture during 🤦♀️ but there was a tiny bump. Also, I hope now enough people know that word will get around. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. FX
@Amdogger82 I am right there with you on the PGAL anxiety. My MMC was at 8 weeks, so I'm well past that, but I have friends and others that I know whose losses were later on anand I feel like I'm counting down to all of those now. Trying to remain rational but those anxieties creep in!
@skp480 I have been counting down to my friend’s loss dates, too, now that I am past all my dates. PGAL is constantly holding our breath to “just one more milestone.”

I figured pregnancy impacted it as I’ve never had an issue despite both my dad and sister having it. I test once a year to make sure usually.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Aug 26 / 15w

@AKuzReve hopefully your blood results are good this time around, I'm not sure if pregnancy can raise them but it wouldn't surprise me if it could.

Feel free to DM me if you have questions.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Aug 26/ 15 weeks
Baby is the size of a(n): avocado
I'm ready for warmer weather now
@kminacap Ugh, that sucks you are so sick. I hope you recover soon and don't get sick again for a long time!
3 boys! I have 3 brothers (and a sister) so it was always crazy at our house 😂
@kminacap Ugh your coworker sounds very annoying. Avoid at all costs!
It's an issue I've had since my first baby, but it gets worse when I'm sick or pregnant. So sick while pregnant is the worst.
BFP 06/25/17 | EDD 02/24/18 | DS2 02/19/18
baby is size of: maple leaf
what team are you on: find out Wednesday!
upcoming appts: Thursday 3/7
how are you feeling: morning sickness still..
rants/raves: nervous about telling my best friend about this pregnancy... she’s struggling for years.. this is my third.
@jrm_14 I hope your cold goes away soon!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 14 + 3
Baby is the size of a(n): peach
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): pink
They might have figured it out from my dress though... I forgot to snap a picture during 🤦♀️ but there was a tiny bump. Also, I hope now enough people know that word will get around.
Good luck with your scan tomorrow. FX
